John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 7: Alfred’s Evolution Pathways
Chapter 7 - Alfred's Evolution Pathways
The battle started with Lava Monk Python releasing two fireballs, one at John and another at Alfred.
John and Alfred turned into a black stream using Umbral Drift as they dodged while also rapidly closing in on Jin and his Pet Monster.
Jin wasn't expecting them to charge at him like that, but he got ready as his fist suddenly wrapped up in flames with a scaled design.
John streaked past Jin while using the Dark Scythe combo move, but Jin timely raised his arm in guard as only sparks flew.
Jin also punched immediately after that, but John, still in his Umbral Drift form, dodged before landing three meters away in his physical form, his mouth open.
Malefic Roar!
Jin felt his ears buzzing and his eyes getting dizzy.
At that moment, Lava Monk Python charged toward John without command, which allowed Alfred, who had stayed behind, to launch Shader Beam at Jin.
Jin was conscious, but his body had frozen due to a sudden infusion of panic and fear; his blood turned cold, and darkness clouded him.
Although it only lasted for a bit, the Shader Beam was already at his shoulder.
He tried to dodge, but the beam still struck his arm, blasting it off from his shoulder.
'Fuck!' Jin's eyes turned red as pain flooded his senses.
On the other hand, John had higher stats than the Python, so he took the chance and used Blood Claws, marking and striking it three times quickly while evading before he jumped up to climb on a branch just as the Lava Monk Python was about to nab him.
'Blood Mark!'

The three marks glowed before they exploded, injuring the Python!
"It's over, Jin. Go back," John said as he looked at Jin while grinning.
"Damn," Jin cursed as blood was pouring out from the wound.
"It's the Bleeding effect. If you don't get treatment soon, you'll die."
Jin looked at Alfred and gave an ugly smile. "This fucking dog is powerful. Nice skills."
In the next second, the Python vanished into Jin's soul space and Jin also disappeared.
"Shader Beam was awesome, buddy!"
John laughed as he jumped down from the tree. Alfred came rushing cheerfully.
Shader Beam was indeed powerful, given that it broke through Jin's Soul Technique's defense on top of the Soul Synergy stats he had that were just like his, at 100%.
Jin was powerful, but John was two steps ahead and followed through with a strategy that worked.
But it wouldn't be wrong to say that Alfred just had a super awesome skill set.
"Come on, buddy. Let's get that flower now."
...
After scooping up the flower carefully with its plant's root, John put it in a small tree's trunk, making a pipe and filling it with soil and water before planting the flower plant of Edgebloom Flower.
The portable vase to keep the Edgebloom Flower fresh was ready.
And now that John arrived in the Silver Hill Spring area, there wouldn't be a lack of water or food.
This area, one of the bigger ones in the forest, had diverse Monsters and enough space for camping and living safely.
It wouldn't be long before other students who arrived near Silver Hill Spring came here.
However, the wristband would detect any violations of the rule. It was not technology, but magic.
The Wristbands were enchanted by the powers of the Emperor-ranked Monster, but used by a human as the Pet Monster belonged to the branch leader of the Spiritveil Sect's branch in this Brimwind Region.
Death by a Pet Monster or Tamer would have a lingering soul aura of the other Tamer, which was easy to sense for Emperor-ranked Monsters and Tamers and distinguish from it. Using this power, the wristband would immediately send a signal, along with the location of the deceased student, to the Council overseeing this survival competition. An investigation would easily identify the culprit in this encased forest.
The random teleport also belonged to a powerful Monster's power incorporated and coordinated by a human with wristbands.
The humans in this world developed technology that relied on the power of Tamed Monsters and Soul Power.
And John was all in for it.
He loved this world and looked forward to his journey, as working hard to strive for progress felt exhilarating, especially now that he had acquired the Rune of New Beginning and his partner, Alfred, back.
...
Entering Silver Hill Spring, John had two objectives to complete.
1 — Evolve Alfred.
2 — Tame a Silverwind Eagle.
Sitting beside a spring, John and Alfred stored water and decided to take a bath.
After five minutes of diving and swimming with Alfred, John leaned against the edge and used his skill on Alfred.
Evolution Pathways.
[Ravenous Hound's Possible Evolution Pathways]
1. Titan Fang Warhound. (100% success)
2. Night Duke Wolf. (100% success)
3. Hellforged Cerberus. (100% success)
4. Verfang Figther Hound (5 G.P. of Vine-Punch Panther + 10 G.P. of Cavestone Lion + 5 G.P. of Glass-Horned Rabbits—30% success rate)
'What if I choose the 4th option and it fails?' John frowned.
[ It is advisable not to choose the 4th option. Ravenous Hound should evolve with natural options explored from its dormant genes and bloodline first. ]
'Hmm, alright, then I'll go with Hellforged Cerberus.'
[Hellforged Cerberus Evolution Requirement]
—> Gloomblaze Plant
—> Heart of a Bronze-ranked Bloodborne Bull
—> Fire-attributed Soul Core of Prime-stage Silver-rank Monster or 30 refined Geno Points of random Fire-attribute Monsters.
Step 1: Grind the Gloomblaze Plant with the Heart of Bloodborne Bull and turn it into a clear paste.
Step 2: Add water and boil them until the water turns purple and orange with blinking sparks.
Step 3: Add the Soul Core of a monster meeting the requirement or Geno Points from the Geno Storage and boil for exactly 1 more minute before making sure your Revenous Hound drinks everything.
Step 4: Congrats, you can hug your Hellforged Cerberus after it comes out of its evolution cocoon.
'Gloomblaze Plant is silver-ranked, and the 30 refined Geno Points mean I'd need a lot of normal Geno Points from fire-attributed monsters,' John fell into thought.
There was not a high chance for him to evolve Alfred here, but he was going to try.
Recalling the details of this forest, John began thinking.
'There's a small chance that I could find Gloomblaze Plant in Dark Valley that is at the west, at the end of the forest area allowed for us to explore. But reaching there by walking is stupid. The best chance is to ride on Silverwind Eagle.'
'And the place where I can find the Gloomblaze Plant is also the place where Fire-elemental monsters inhabit. How many Geno Points do I need to get 30 refined Geno Points?'
[It depends on the Geno Points acquired, but roughly, it would be 200 to 250.]
'That's like 20 monsters at most. Yeah, easy.'
John got out of the spring and put on his clothes. "Let's go, buddy. It's time to catch a new member for our team."
