Jyera World Apocalypse-Chapter 53: Wilderness Living
Chapter 53: Wilderness Living
Azaya was a beautiful and sweet young woman, always kind and gentle to everyone around her. She was someone who always helped others without expecting anything in return.
Her greatest dream was to live a secluded life, far from it all, in a nature retreat. But like many people living in the hustle and bustle of the city, her daily life was filled with work and study, and her dream was always secondary and distant.
Due to her sexual orientation, her parents never supported her, and her relationship with them was very distant. Therefore, Azaya had to work to pay off her many debts and student loans.
While striving for success in SC17, no matter the difficulties, she always found herself imagining a future where she would have her refuge in a secluded location and live self-sustainably through hunting and farming...
But everything changed when Azaya met Michelle, who, like her, also had a complicated relationship with her parents due to her sexual orientation... But unlike the kind Azaya, Michelle was much more aggressive, impulsive, and rebellious with the world; she was Azaya’s opposite. But even though they were opposites, they shared the same dream of living in a secluded refuge, far from everything and everyone...
This shared dream soon brought the two girls closer together, and they began dating. Not only that, but Azaya and Michelle encouraged and inspired each other, and the dream that seemed far away soon began to take shape...
Their first step was to acquire a remote and isolated property on the outskirts of SC17 in a vast and rich forest. Of course, their financial situation wasn’t yet sufficient to purchase such a place, but a friend of the couple provided them with a few acres of his land in exchange for receiving a portion of what they would grow and hunt there until the debt was paid off.
After that, both Azaya and Michelle began going to their new property every weekend, beginning construction on a cabin that would eventually become their home, and also beginning to cultivate several fruit trees and various types of grains that would help them achieve the sustainability they needed for this lifestyle. It took a long time for their refuge to take shape and finally begin to feel like home.
Meanwhile, they both graduated from college and also began working full-time, combining their incomes and quickly paying off all their student debt. This was also the goal they set for themselves to finally become engaged and begin planning their wedding.
But in this final stretch, something unexpected happened. Azaya began to awaken many confusing memories that warned her of a terrible apocalypse beginning with a global pandemic. Frightened and unsure of what was happening, she shared everything with her fiancée, Michelle, who, unlike Azaya herself, believed what was coming...
The two then took the opportunity to stock up on as many supplies as they needed, got a vintage car, and finally left the city when they confirmed the first signs of the mysterious disease, which was claiming the lives of all the animals...
What followed was the two of them experiencing the beginning of Jyera’s apocalypse, while Azaya continued to awaken more and more memories about the future, and little by little, she stopped being the person she once was... Becoming increasingly strange to Michelle, who was used to her gentle and kind demeanor...
"Where have you been?" Michelle asked, hearing the cabin door open as the sun was about to set.
"I went hunting..."
"But what’s the point of hunting if we can’t even eat the meat of infected animals? We should grow our food..."
"I told you, winter won’t let us grow anything... The food we have is enough for almost two years, so we just need to fortify the house and continue expanding the basement to have a safer place..."
"Then why have you been hunting so often? You didn’t even tell me when you left earlier today, I was so worried..." Michelle said, her eyes filling with tears...
Putting her bow and other equipment behind the door, Azaya took a small pouch from her back that contained dozens of Level 2 crystals and placed it on the table in front of Michelle.
"I’m trying to eliminate all the monsters in this area; they could pose a great danger to us if left alone... Here, eat all these crystals!"
"What? Why?"
"These things will make you stronger. Even if something happens to me, you should be able to survive..."
After saying this, Azaya left Michelle alone and went to her room to take a shower. While she was in the shower, she cried silently, blaming herself for treating Michelle so coldly lately...
A few days ago, before it started snowing, Azaya had a new vision. In this vision, she saw her death two years from now, caused by a mutant animal that would emerge in this region...
After this vision, Azaya never saw anything about the future again... The worst part was that the animal was flying, and they couldn’t move anywhere else now that winter had already begun...
The only thing she could do was try to get stronger, and to make Michelle stronger through the crystals and emotionally prepared in case she died...
As soon as she finished her shower and got dressed, her level 3 enhanced senses picked up a conversation almost 50 meters away from her cabin.
"Boss, I think we found the girl. What should we do?"
"Hold on, keep your distance from her, she might already be Level 3."
"Shit!" cursed one of the men when they realized they were indeed too close...

Travis had finally found one of the targets his new sponsor had requested, but he wouldn’t do anything to the girl. His mission was simply to locate the targets...
Picking up a different radio, Travis sent a message:
"Observer, this is Travis. I found the girl named Azaya, she’s at coordinates 43.4115, -18.6513..."
"Good job, Travis, I’m the new Observer. I’ll make sure you receive a proper reward for completing your mission!" A different voice replied, informing them of the change.
"What should I do next? Can I order my men to retreat, or should they remain in place?"
"Ahhhh, boss, help us, the girl is attacking us..." A scream came from one of the radios.
"Someone important has come to Jyera to deal with the extermination targets. Travis, order your men to retreat..."
"RETIRE! DO NOT ENGAGE THE TARGET! DID YOU HEAR ME?" Travis shouted over the radio.
"Your men can’t hear you anymore. I left some of them alive... Now tell me, who are you? And why are you after me?" A cold female voice came from Travis’s men’s radio.
Travis debated for less than a minute whether or not he should respond to the woman. He heard screams outside his mansion, and when he looked out the window at his now snow-covered lawn, he saw two of the eight men he’d sent to the distant forest mysteriously appear at his door, alive, despite being riddled with arrows in their legs. Both were still breathing and moaning in pain...

It was beginning to get dark when Azaya grabbed her bow and ran out of the house after hearing that there were humans outside.
"What’s going on?" Michelle screamed as she saw Azaya run out of the house wearing her pajamas.
"There are hostile humans outside. Don’t come out until I tell you it’s safe..."
Michelle bit her lip, but ignored Azaya’s orders and went outside to see who these people were who had come so deep into the forest where they lived.
But what she saw outside was a terrifying display of power from Azaya, as she fought a group of eight men. They were not normal humans, but what her fiancée used to call mutant humans...
Azaya’s arrows, barely out of her bow before appearing in the foreheads of her targets, took less than 30 seconds, and she had already shot four men in the head, killing them on the spot, before shooting two of them in the legs, and then killing the remaining two with her own hands...
It was then that Michelle and Azaya heard one of the men’s radios:
"FALL BACK! DO NOT ENGAGE THE TARGET! DID YOU HEAR ME?"
"Your men can’t hear you anymore. I left some of them alive... Now tell me, who are you? And why are you after me?" Azaya spoke calmly and coldly.
But before a response could come from the radio, a flash of silver light shone in the sky above Azaya and answered her question:
"The dead don’t need answers, Azaya..."
Before Azaya could do anything, her body disappeared from the ground, reappearing in front of the golden man in the sky. His left hand locked around her neck in a powerful grip that sapped all her strength and stamina before his right arm pierced her chest. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
The golden man threw the body, already in its final breaths, back to the ground. A Level 3 crystal appeared in his hands.
"AZAYAAAAA!" Michelle screamed, running to Azaya’s body, trying to stop the huge hole where her heart had been.
But with just one look, she knew she couldn’t resist...
"Azaya, please don’t leave me... I love you..."
With tears streaming down her face, Azaya managed to muster the strength to say a single sentence:
"I love you too, Mih... Consume the crystals..."
"AHH AZAYAAA"
A desperate scream erupted from Michelle when she realized Azaya had stopped breathing.
Her eyes filled with pain and despair turned to eyes filled with fury as she looked up at the sky and saw Azaya’s killer wave his hands, causing the two men injured by his fiancée, who were still alive, to disappear... Then, without even looking back at Michelle or Azaya’s body, he too disappeared the same way he had arrived, in a mysterious flash of silver light...
