Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 32: False Victory
At the association headquarters, Liu can be seen walking to the surveillance room. They had gotten an alert that a dungeon had opened in the eastern region, and for some reason, the energy coming from the dungeon was calm, but it was reading higher than other ones.
He opened the door, and the moment he stepped in, everyone turned to look at him. The look on their faces was enough to tell him that there was something out of place.
"So tell me what you found. I know the look on your faces." He entered the room and looked around, trying to see if he would see anything that would help him out. "So what did we find?"
The guy on the computer opened something. He was not saying anything, but from the look in his eyes, it was clear that they had stumbled on something that didn’t sit well with them.
"There was a dungeon occurrence down at the east of the city, when the dungeon came out it was giving us the reading of a normal B ranked dungen but in two minutes the reading went as high as an Uncharted and it was even trying to cross that reading."
Liu was shocked to hear something like that, a dungeon going uncharted as soon as it appeared. It was not something one would even think of hearing.
"So what happened to it?" Liu was looking at the man, he was trying to see what they were trying to tell him and why they had called him.
"Have you notified any warrior about it? The warrior should be an SS-ranked, uncharted dungeon that can make any lower-ranked Warrior lose all hope."
"That is the thing, sir. There was a warrior there already, even before the dungeon appeared. It was as if he was waiting for the dungeon to appear and he was ready to enter, he was not even scared of anything."
Liu paused when he heard that a warrior was already in the dungeon.
Liu already knew who it was, but he was trying to give himself the benefit of the doubt that it wasn’t him. "Do you know who the warrior is?"
"Yes, sir, it’s F Rank Darius Winters."
Liu was looking at the screen, and he couldn’t say anything but wonder what was going on and what he was going to be seeing with the warrior.
’What are you up to?’ Liu was looking at the screen, watching Darius step in like he knew something was there, and he was ready for it.
Back in the dungeon, Darius was looking at Slav, his entire face covered in blood, They were at a standoff; he held his sword close.
"What are you going to do now to make me smile, mortal child?" Slav violently swung its tail for Darius. The warrior leaped forward, staying clear of the tail and making sure that he was not going to get hit with it again.
’This thing has to have a weak spot, It has to have one!’ Darius landed on his feet, his eyes glowing with determination and rage.
’Activate Wrym’s roar!’ Darius was ready to use his skills and make sure that he was going to take the basilisk.
{Wyrm’s Roar Activated!}
Darius let out a roar so loud that it shook the temple. Slav was looking at the boy, and it seemed that it was more agitated.
"Yes! Yes! More palor tricks!" Slav growled as it crawled faster than before. It was trying to push Darius back to the wall again.
Darius was avoiding him, remaining on the defensive and trying to ensure he kept his distance while seeking something to help him take down the basilisk.
’Activate Dragon’s Glare!’
{Dragon’s Glare Activated!}
The immense aura from Darius coated the temple, he stood there looking at Slav.
"Tsk, more parlor tricks? You are beginning to bore me, child."
’Come on, show me your weak point!’ Darius dashed for the basilisk head on, he was not going to be holding back. Once in front of the beast, he leaped into the air and landed with barrages of strikes on Slavs head.
{Warning: Slav has activated hardened armor!}
’Shit, this thing is not going to be back down soon is it?’ Darius leaped back, still keeping his eyes on Slav.
Slav shook its head looking at Darius, it growled loudly showing the warrior that he was not in the mood for the fight.
"You want to use parlor tricks? I have one just for you!" Slav let out a shrieking roar, it was deafening, making Darius fall to his knees.
{Warning! Slav has activated Anguish Of The Unfufiled Souls!}
Darius held his head trying to shake off the effect of the roar, he couldn’t even breathe; it felt like the roar made the air in the temple dense.
"Do you hear it, mortal? Those are the cries of the people who thought they could take the power and use it! You are unfit, and you will die here!" Slav slithered violently for Darius, using its tail to strike Darius.
’Activate Armour Of Scales!’ Darius braced for the impact, he was still trying his best to shake off the skill Slav was using on him.
{Armour Activated!}
The tail hit Darius, but it was not going to hurt him like before. Darius, seizing that opportunity, climbed the tail and raced for Slav’s head.
"You don’t learn, do you? No matter what you do, it is going to be futile!" Slav shook Darius off, but the warrior took a huge leap into the air.
Darius, keeping his eyes on Slav, inhaled as he prepared for an attack. ’Activate Dragon Blast and Wyrm’s Roar at the same time!’
{Dragon Blast Activated!}
{Wrym’s Roar Activated!}
Darius let out a roar, with so much pressure it looked like a bullet travelling as fast 4000 MPH. The roar hit Slav on the face, pushing the basilisk back a bit.
"Ah!" Slav let out a cry of pain, it was not ready for that attack. A dent could be seen on the basilisk’s face, the attack combo had wounded it. "Wrenthed mortal!"
’Finally, an opening! Activate Dragon’s Taunt!’ Darius pulled his swords as he ran for Slav at his top speed.
{Dragon’s Taunt Activated!}
Slav, lost in the pain, was immobile. Darius landed in front of him. He was prepared to deliver his attacks.
Darius didn’t waste time to fill the sword with his mana and energy, he began to strike Slav with rapid strikes, not giving him a chance for regeneration of any sort.
{Savage Strike Activated!}
’ACTIVATE DRAGON BLAST!’ Darius was still striking the Basilisk, charging up what he was going to call his final blow.
He delivered the blast on Slav, sending the monster back a few feet, crashing into the temple pillars, causing rubble to fall.
Darius was struggling to breathe, he sat down with a smile on his face. He looked at his hands. "I did it! Finally, I did it!"
Darius laid down, trying to catch his breath when he noticed that the system was not healing him or doing anything it would after the boss was taken down.
’What is going on, Azree? Why isn’t the system healing me?’ Darius was trying to understand what was going on.
’It is because you have not defeated the beast, and I believe you just made him angrier.’ Azree answered.
Darius was filled with doubt, he turned to the spot where he had knocked Slav to.
"No, I did it. I killed it."
"And what do you think you killed? A fly or a rat?!" A voice roared from the rubble as it began to shake. Suddenly, instead of slithers, Darius heard footsteps.
Out of all the dust and commotion, a man with long brown silk hair that illuminated the dark part of the cave he stood in stepped out. The man stared at Darius with his hollowed eyes, he stood seven feet tall with an aura that couldn’t be hidden.
"I commend you, mortal, you managed to bring this form out," Slav spoke, looking at his hand. He then turned his hollowed gaze to Darius. "But this is where you die!"
