Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 69: The Chaotic Flame
Boommm!
Darius was dodging attacks from Pryion, he was having his training session before he would go to meet Tegeshi for the gauntlet.
Pryion was using Isakador to send powerful wave attacks, and Darius was doing a good job of dodging them like it was no big deal.
"Very good, Lord Darius. You are using your speed to your advantage." The knight commented as he increased the speed of his attacks, making it look like Darius was only jumping around like a child.
Pryion had not managed to land on hit on Darius, and it was amusing to Darius how fast he could evade the attacks.
"C’mon, Pryion, you’re my Paladin. Is that all you can do, you?" Darius landed on his feet, looking at the knight, he stood there looking at him with a smile on his face.
"Should I use my elemental powers, Lord Darius? To make things more exciting." Pryion sounded excited, he was looking at Darius, who seemed to be warming up.
"Huh, you mean fire?" He paused to look at the knight, a smile could be seen on his face. "Bring it!"
Pryion let out a slight chuckle. He placed Isakador down, looking at Darius. Suddenly, a bright, dark red flame came out of his hands, it looked corrupted, but danced around his hands with such elegant beauty.
"Hey, what’s wrong with you, fire? That isn’t the usual color." Darius was looking at his knight’s hand.
Pryion looked at his flame, he let out a surprised sigh. "Hmm, it seems being reborn in your essence changed my flames, it is now imbued with chaos and the very structure in your likeness."
Darius was surprised to see what he had done, but then he couldn’t believe it. "Wait, so you mean?"
"Yes, Lord Darius, anything you revive in your essence will be imbued with chaos, obeying your very will." Pryion pointed his hand at Darius. "Shall we, Lord Darius?"
Darius took his stance with a smile on his face. It was clear that something was going to happen, and he would need to be on his feet.
"Bring it!"
Pryion launched the flame for Darius, as expected, the heat alone was five times as hot as a normal flame.
Darius dodged it, he looked up as he lunged for Pryion. The knight didn’t let Darius get any closer, making a huge wall of flame. Darius stepped back, looking at the firewall.
"Hey, no fair!" Darius was looking at the flames, something was odd; it was almost like the flames were part of him.
’You idiot, you can control the flames too! Honestly, did you hit your head somewhere?’ Azree snarked. He sounded quite irritated.
"Heh, I forgot!" Darius yelled as he leaped into the flame wall, a smile on his face as he dashed for Pryion.
"Good, you finally caught on!" Pryion began shooting flame bullets at Darius. Our young warrior dodged them as he drew closer to Pryion.
"Lord Darius, in a fight like this, you need to look for a blind spot on your opponent and use it to your advantage." The knight spoke as he lifted his hand, sending another flame bullet for Darius.
The bullet hit Darius, but there was something different about it. When Darius tried to dodge it, it exploded.
"Nasty Trick!" Our young warrior landed on the floor, looking at Pryion, he leaped up. He inhaled a large amount of air before letting out a deadly fire breath.
Pryion shook the flames off, he looked up to see Darius charging at him with another attack. The young warrior, covering his leg with fire, landed a devastating axe kick, but Pryion blocked it with no effort.
"Very good! But Lord Darius, if you are going to be attacking like this, then you should also understand that you stand a chance of being killed." Pryion placed his palm on Darius’s stomach.
"Blazing Palm!"
Darius was sent flying back with a blast to his stomach, our young warrior crashed into the wall of the training dimension. He was out of breath, looking up, he saw Pryion standing there.
"Wow, he’s a monster." He smiled as he got up, his legs shaking a bit.
"It seems you still don’t know how elemental control works, Lord Darius," Pryion was in front of Darius, the knight examined him, checking to see if he was going to see a wound.
"I am fine, youdon’tt need to worry,Pryion, i have regenerative abilities." He smiled, he didn’t want Pryion to be too worried about his safety.
Pryion stopped, and he then turned to look at Darius. "Lord Darius, you are going to be facing another champion soon, and threats are coming from another realm, so you need to be ready for them."
"I know, they will come in the form of a dungeon, so don’t worry, nothing will happen to me..." Darius wiped off the ash from his clothes. "It’s those beings from that eerie realm I am worried about."
"Children of the Abyss," The knight muttered.
Darius turned to look at Pryion. He noticed his sharp change in tone, and he knew there was something he knew about the enemy that made him sound like that.
"You know what I am talking about?" He looked at Pryion, the knight nodded his head.
"The little I know is that four powerful beings are residing in the abyss- a desolate realm where all the despair and ill feelings are taken to. They feed off it and get stronger, but these beings obey one amongst their rank. They call him Brother, we knew him as Urus, first son of the abyss."
Darius’s eyes widened, and he was shocked to hear what was waiting for him. He moved closer to Pryion, holding the knight by the armor.
"So, how can I beat this Urus and his brothers? I know you must have done it." He was looking at the knight, expecting him to say something like yes.
With a heavy voice, Pryion spoke. "I only followed Lord Aeres when I saw my family was killed by their minions. The children of the Abyss rarely made a move, they only sent soldiers from their army called Lurkers. I served all my years with the hope that I would be able to eradicate them from existence."
The knight tightened his fists, filled with regret. Suddenly, he felt something on his shoulder, he looked up to see Darius standing there with a determined look on his face.
"You don’t need to worry, I will make sure that there is no way for them to get away this time." He said with a smile on his face, he was trying to make Pryion feel better.
The knight looked at his Lord, and he could feel the warmth that came from him.
"You are different, aren’t you?" He muttered as he looked at Darius, seeing the warrior’s unchanging soul.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Darius was surprised to hear something from Pryion.
The knight sat down, he faced his liege. "Don’t worry about it, Lord Darius, you need to get ready for the battles ahead of you. You need to learn how to control your flames. The next six champions have trained themselves to fight with their respective elements, and they are one with their weapons."
"So they are stronger than you?" Darius didn’t understand much of what Pryion was trying to say.
"Only two of them can be said to outmatch in battle and speed. The champion of Celestial Light and the Champion Of Void, just like their respective Dragon Kings they are forces to be reckoned with. The other four might be slippery, but if you can control your attacks and speed, they won’t be much trouble for you."
The knight explained, it seemed something was bothering Darius.
The young warrior was thinking of how he was going to be facing powerful beings like that, they sounded scarier than Pryion. "So they are going to be much harder than you, eh? I barely made it out alive from Aeres’s temple, facing you. I wonder,"
"Dont worry about it Lord Darius, as long as you keep training, learning how to control the element you have now, you should have the footing to win them and also if you would be able to learn how to control the divine blade Ve’xa properly then it would help you while fighting them."
Pryion was trying his best to make sure that Darius wouldn’t be discouraged.
"So basically everything we have been learning? I need to get stronger so I would be able to..."
"You need to improve your fighting technique," Pryion cut Darius off. The young warrior looked up at the knight.
"Huh?" He mumbled.
"You fight like a rat backed into the corner, you will be facing six other beings like me, but these ones are ready to do anything to win. So you need to be ready, and as you are growing in strength, you will face more enemies, so fighting like that would one day not be effective." Pryion explained.
"Your mind is always clouded. The only time you could damage me was when you took that feral from after consuming the guardian, and you were fighting me with the boost from that."
Darius had sweat covering his forehead when he remembered the brutal fight with Pryion. "But there was nothing else I could do at that point."
’You have a skill called Mana Steal, but you forgot it and chose to eat something that could have killed you in an instant if the system didn’t save you.’ Azree pointed out.
"Shut it!"Darius didn’t want to be reminded of what he had forgotten. He looked at Pryion, letting out a defeated sigh.
"Will you help me train further? I need to learn a lot." Darius was looking at his knight. He didn’t know what would come from that, but he knew Pryion was more than a swordmaster, and if anyone was going to help him reach a higher level, it would be him.
"It would be an honor, my liege." Pryion bowed his head, his bowing gained a weak smile on Darius’s face.
"My Liege, I believe you are meant to be heading somewhere?" Pryion added, looking at the young warrior.
Darius smacked his head as he turned in a hurry. "I need to go see Hanzo, the gauntlets! Thank you, Pryion, I will be back soon!"
He opened the way out of the training dimension and hopped out. He put his head back into the training dimension and waved at Pryion before exiting.
Pryion waved back a little, still not accustomed to something like that.
"My Liege, he is quite the fellow." The knight chimed in a happy tone.
