Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 73: The Scholar’s Core...
Darius was back home, but for some reason, he couldn’t sleep or even get the rest he needed.
"How am I going to head for this raid knowing that something is coming for me?" He was looking at the ceiling, but nothing came to his mind.
’Keeping yourself awake won’t bring the answer to what you are looking for. It will only give you headaches, and there is no telling how much you can handle it.’ Azree grunted. It sounded like he was planning on knifing Darius out himself.
"I know, but there has to be something I can do. I don’t know anything else, and if I close my eyes, I see Slav there smiling! There is no way you will tell me that this isn’t a torment from the Dragon Kings." The young warrior was frustrated, he was not sure how he was going to be able to handle it anymore.
’There is no way the Kings would even think of using Slav to torment you; they don’t have that kind of ability. Maybe there is something you are not seeing yet, it is trying to draw your attention to.’ Azree added.
Darius was silent; he was looking up, and there was nothing he could remember.
"System, show me the stats board."

Core Of The 12th Scholar
Darius was surprised, but there was something that seemed to have caught his eye.
"Core of the 12th scholar? That’s Slav’s core! Why is his core still there? I absorbed it!" Sweat dropped from Darius’s forehead while he was looking at the core.
’Slav is a divine beast and not just any creature, so you might have broken the first layer of his core, but then...’ Azree chimed in.
Darius pulled out the core from the inventory the moment his hand touched it. The tattoo on his left hand began reacting; it glowed bright green, burning Darius’s skin.
"Ah!" He almost dropped the core. Looking at it, he could tell that there was something still inside the core, and it was not just a small ounce of power.
{Notice! Task- Absorb Slav’s core!}
Darius was looking at the core, and he was about to begin absorbing it.
’That is not the best idea, Darius,’ Azree stopped him, it sounded like it was almost telling Darius not to do it.
"But it’s a task, and if I don’t do it."
’If you do it here, then you might destroy your home, take it to the training dimension absorbing a divine creature’s core in the real world can be tricky, you don’t know what it might do.’ Azree didn’t want him to make a mistake.
Darius understood clearly, he got up and opened the gate to the training dimension, and he hopped in. He spotted Pryion meditating.
"Pryion, don’t you sleep?" Darius asked, he was looking at the knight.
"This is my form of sleep, my liege, I have to be ready in case my liege needs me." Pryion looked up, he saw Darius holding something. "My liege, it is too late for another training session. Shouldn’t you be getting some rest?"
Darius gulped. He smiled as he looked at Pryion. "I am not here for training, I came for something else."
He turned to look at the core, he was not going to let it bother him any longer.
"Here goes." He sighed as he began concentrating on the core, slowly trying to absorb it.
{Absorption Denied!}
Almost immediately, a powerful shockwave came from the core, sending Darius flying back. Pryion drew his blade and was alert for a fight.
"My liege, are you okay?" The knight asked, ready for battle.
"I’m fine!" Darius gave Pryion a thumbs-up from where he landed.
He sprang back up, the core in his hand. His eyes were serious, he held the core, but then he noticed something. It was faint, but he could hear whispers coming from the core- dreadful, eerie whispers.
’Darius, concentrate that core is unstable, and if you make a mistake, it might consume you.’ Azree spoke up, adding more fear to Darius’s mind.
"Okay, telling me something like this won’t help me break through it!" The young warrior yelled as he turned to look at the core. Letting out a deep breath, he stared at it before he began again.
He began trying to break it, but slowly he felt something. Pulling him in.
{The absorption Process has begun!}
{First Layer Broken!}
{Second Layer Broken!}
{Core now being absorbed!}
The serpentine dragon tattoo on Darius’s left hand could be seen glowing brighter than before, the tattoo began to move around.
"Ergh! What is happening?!" Darius opened his eyes to look at the core. Immediately, there were waves of power coming from the core.
Darius felt something surging through his body, and in a split second, his eyes began glowing green as he threw his head back, entering into a trance-like state.
Pryion had seen what happened, he moved close to Darius’s immobile body.
"Lord Darius?" The knight looked at him, not knowing what was going to happen.
’Paladdin Of The Chaotic Flame!’ Azree called out from Darius, shockingly, Pryion could hear him, and the voice had an intense aura backing it.
Pryion went on his knees, bowing his head. "Lord Darius, what do you need from me?"
’This isn’t Darius, I am Azree, his guardian. I want you to take him back to his realm. He will be in this state for a while.’ Azree said.
"Azree? But that means you are..."
’Who I am doesn’t matter here, take your master’s body and place him in his chambers so he can get the rest he needs.’ Azree cut the knight off before he could finish talking.
"As you wish!" Pryion took Darius, carrying him to the gateway.
’Pryion,’
"Yes, Lord Azree!"
’Darius shouldn’t know we ever spoke. If he asks, tell him you took him back so he could rest. When it is time, he will learn who I am.’ Azree ordered.
"As you wish, Lord Azree." Pryion didn’t object; he carried Darius back to his room, walking in, trying not to push anything down with his seven-foot-tall body, after placing him on the bed. He turned and walked away.
Darius had been pulled into another dimension, his subconscious state was pulled in there. The dimension was filled with scrolls and skulls floating around. He looked around, trying to figure out where he was.
"Where in the world am I?" He turned to see if he would spot anything.
"You are where you’re meant to be." A voice spoke in the dimension.
Darius turned, looking for who had the voice. He kept turning till he spotted a man wearing a green robe, with emerald laces, the man’s hair was long, covering his shoulders, and he stood at a scary seven feet.
"Who are you? Did you bring me here?!" Darius asked defensively.
The man chuckled. He slowly turned to look at Darius. The moment Darius saw his face, his soul almost died on the spot.
"Hello Mortal, seems you have gotten even stronger." The man smiled.
Standing in front of Darius was the very first nightmare he faced, someone who made him feel despair. A beast whom he thought he had killed.
"Slav?!"
