Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 77: Another upgrade?
"Don’t go dying now, warrior of chaos." Slav smiled as Darius faded away from the dimension.
"Wait, Slav!" Darius yelled as he finally faded from the dimension. He opened his eyes to see that he was on his bed. Looking around, trying to figure out how it was possible, he remembered the last place he was before he met Slav inside that dimension was the training ground.
’Must have sleepwalked.’ He sat up on his bed, he looked around to see what time it was.
’5:30’
Seeing that he was up early, and he felt well rested, he knew he needed to get ready for the day. "At least I got some sleep, now I need to..."
’Kurgon, my divine staff is in your hands.’
He remembered Slav’s words, he raised his sleeves to see that the Serpentine Dragon tattoo had covered his entire left arm, and it went from his shoulder to his fist, it even looked more flashy than before, giving him a deep jade glow.
"Wait a damn minute! What is this?!" He yelled, looking at his arm, he was fascinated and overjoyed.
Immediately, the system screen appeared, Darius was looking at it, and there was 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
{Notice! Divine Sceptre Kurgon Detected!}
{Beginning Conversion Of Mana and Power!}
The room was filled with a cold, powerful yet welcoming aura, the serpentine tattoo began crawling around. It felt like his core was clashing with another thing.
{Remnants of the 12th Scholar’s core detected! The absorption process begins!}
{Mana Surge beginning!}
{New Skills Unlocked!}
{Skill Scrolls of the 12th scholar unlocked- First Scrolls of the revered scholar.}
{Upgrade Process- 50% complete!}
’Seems you unlocked new sets of power.’ Azree chimed in, it sounded like he was a bit happy.
"Seems so, but how on earth did I unlock the scrolls?" Darius stared at the screen, his confused look making him look like a child. "I thought it said I won’t be able to unlock it until I reach Dragon Marshal?"
’Perhaps it has something to do with you entering Slav’s core.’’ Azree mused. ’You know, you might have gotten other things from it. So let us wait for the upgrade to be complete.’
Darius looked up at the screen. He had a good feeling about it, but then there was no way for him to tell what was going to come from what he was looking at there.
’I better get ready for what’s ahead, can’t be taken by surprise again.’ He got down from his bed, looking at the time, he saw it was almost time for sunrise.
"Today’s Saturday, which means Theo would be here any moment from now." Darius headed to the kitchen. He was a bit quiet, so he wouldn’t wake Lena. "This is going to be the second time I will be going on a raid with Theo, he is the only one who knows little about my powers."
He began preparing breakfast for Lena, and suddenly he felt something weird, like the feeling that someone was looking at him. He turned to see that there was no one behind him.
"Am I going nuts?" He asked, and there was still the feeling of someone looking at him, but then there was no one in sight.
’I feel it too, Darius, someone is watching you, but he is not anywhere close to the house.’ Azree alerted him. ’It’s a divine being, and from the looks of things, they seem to be monitoring you.’
Darius was looking in that direction, sweat dropping from his forehead. "This intense power, and he is not even close to me. I wonder how strong this one is."
’Be careful, these beings are not to be trifled with. This might be on Slav’s level.’ Azree added, the gap was visible to Darius, so he was not going to be attacking.
"I know, whatever it is. I have to keep a clear mind for now." The young warrior turned to the pan. "I can’t afford to face an enemy I know nothing of."
The young warrior went back to what he was doing, making sure that he would make enough food for his sister before he left.
Right outside Darius’s building, around 10 kilometers from there on top of a 670-foot building, Cerion and Calous could be seen looking in that direction.
"It seems he has gotten even stronger. Why in the world am I getting the same aura I would get from Slav on him?" Calous was looking at the warrior as he tilted his head.
"So I am not the only one feeling it? I thought there was something a bit off. " Cerion’s nonchalant voice chirped in, he was still looking at Darius. "It feels he got something from that Slithering Sage."
"Hmm," Calous stood up, and he had a nasty, grim smile on his face. "If he keeps getting strong, then the gods themself would be involved. We know what it means when the entire divine court comes together."
"Just like they did with Ashran," Cerion’s voice lightened up, and he stood up. "They are taking this one too lightly, well, for all we know, they think he is still a mere mortal and the Dragon Kings have already begun sending their champions."
"Mere mortal? Brother, you make me laugh. The mortal we are looking at now is different from the mortal we saw months ago. If I can say something, I think he is now strong enough to face Urus." Callous was looking at his brother, the joy on his face was unmatched.
"Not yet, he wouldn’t still stand a chance against a being like Urus, we will do our best to hold the gates of the Abyss till we see he is a bit ready." Cerion opened a portal, he turned to look at his brother. "The disciple did say we should give him some time, so till then we would make sure Urus won’t get the passage he is looking for."
"Pfft, the disciples and their devotion yada yada." Callous sprang up, and he walked to where his brother was standing. "But this one did feel different. Are you sure he is still a disciple?"
Cerion let out a casual smile. "Only time would tell, but till then we would just play our part."
