Legendary Librarian System-Chapter 123: Alchemy Association’s Influence
"What is that? That seems to scream so much Dao, Big Brother Liu Wei."
Liu Wei smiled and said, "Well, a training room. It will help you grow faster. Not only that, there are some, too."
Meng Ai slid her gaze and her heart skipped a beat. There were many rooms that seemed to be not normal anymore.
It was simply an anomaly.
However, after recalling that the library itself was already unordinary, she was not amazed anymore.
She simply sighed.
She turned to her Big Brother Liu Wei and said, "This library really has it all, Big Brother Liu Wei. Not only we learn by reading but by actions, too. I love how it provides an environment for us to fully assimilate what we’ve comprehended."
Liu Wei widened his smile and said, "That’s what the library aims to achieve. It knows that learning by reading is useless if there’s no environment to fully learn from it."
...
Liu Wei and Meng Ai chatted after sometime, discussing what they have done from the past four months.
Meng Ai was stunned that her Big Brother Liu Wei suddenly participated in a grandiose competition, making a name for himself.
Of course, she was more surprised by the fact that her Big Brother Liu Wei finally left the library and touched some grass than becoming the Radiant Cauldron Champion.
Meng Ai, on the other hand, told her story of how she met her Big Sister Yu Shuang.
Of how Yu Shuang lost her sister, Yu Lan, after a small conflict with a sect.
Yu Lan was mistaken for a courier and was immediately killed. However, the sect apologized after they learned the truth.
They simply apologized.
Hence, Yu Lan learned that ignorance killed faster than swords.
Hence, she survived by becoming invincible by working as a clerk, then a runner, then a fixer.
She learned how information moves, who lies, and who listens.
When she met Meng Ai, she immediately recognized something terrifying.
Meng Ai saw the world the way she wished she could have.
Not emotionally.
Not angrily.
But clearly.
Hence, Yu Shuang did not swear loyalty to Meng Ai out of awe, but she simply did it because,
"If someone like her had existed earlier, my sister would be alive," said Meng Ai and Lu Wei turned silent.
Liu Wei did not know what to say. In fact, he felt nothing because of his demon physique. Nevertheless, he was glad that Yu Shuang found Meng Ai and Meng Ai found Yu Shuang.
Eventually, now that they felt there was no topic to discuss, Liu Wei bade farewell to Meng Ai as he proceeded to his personal chamber.
Meng Ai, meanwhile, told Liu Wei she would stay a bit longer to finish her personalized technique and would cultivate it in the Training Domain.
...
Liu Wei rested in his Dreamweave bed. When he woke up, he felt invigorated.
As much as he wanted to cultivate in the Meditation Garden, the System informed him there was only an hour left before the lantern release tradition.
Hence, he changed his clothes—still the same as before—and left his personal chamber.
He did not see Meng Ai but the humanoid man scroll informed him she was inside the Training Domain.
He nodded and proceeded to the portal, returning to his private room.
...
As soon as he appeared inside, the portal disappeared.
Before he was able to take a step to proceed on the chair, a knocking noise echoed behind him.
He turned around and opened the door.
It was the usual silent attendant.
She said, "The Master Alchemist asked if you want to participate in the lantern release tradition."
Liu Wei nodded and said, "I will."
The attendant said, "Then, please follow me. The Master Alchemist asked everyone to gather in the Hearthstone Gathering Hall."
Liu Wei nodded and the attendant bowed, turned around, and began to guide Liu Wei to the Hearthstone Gathering Hall.
...
As soon as Liu Wei arrived, he was actually the only alchemist that everyone was waiting for.
When they saw him, they could not help but glance at his sword.
An alchemist wearing a sword? I’d rather believe an alchemist throwing a cauldron as a form of self-defense than trying to swing a sword!
Although using a sword as a form of self defense was ideal, their enemies would be more familiar with swords than being thrown by a cauldron.
Furthermore, in fact, alchemists collected every means to protect themselves.
Talisman, artifacts... and sword was certainly not among them.
Hence, they were excessively curious about Liu Wei now aside from being in the Radiant Cauldron Assembly.
As soon as the Master Alchemist saw Liu Wei, he smiled.
However, like the rest, he was perplexed by the sword in his waist, too.
He thought. Wait, where did that come from? He didn’t have a storage ring and when he entered this hall, he did not leave so he obviously did not carry a sword.
He glanced at his fingers and something was amiss.
He did not take long to guess that the ring he had transformed into a sword.
When he realized that Liu Wei might have been carrying a Mystic Treasure rank sword, his heart raced.
How could that be? Just who is he?!
The Master Alchemist was a rational man. There was no way he would get consumed with greed, knowing he was dealing with something not worth risking for.
If it was a cauldron perhaps, but a sword?
It was quite worthless to him.
Hence, he tried his best to swallow his meaningless thoughts and clapped his hands to garner everyone’s attention.
After all, staring simultaneously with complex facial expressions towards Liu Wei might have made him uncomfortable.
As soon as he had their attention, he said, "Alright. Now that everyone’s here, we will now proceed to the River of Dawn. For everyone’s safety, I have prepared a royal carriage for us, enough that it will fit eleven individuals and hired even the Crimson Sun Guards."
The alchemists were in awe.
They were awestruck by the influence of the Alchemy Association.
After all, they were able to mobilize even the royal family’s imperial guards just to protect them on the River of Dawn.
