Legendary Oops System-Chapter 48: The Pink Mischief (III)
Silence permeated the battle stage even after a full minute, mainly due to two reasons.
The students were still in a state of shock watching that fight.
The second was that it didn’t make sense.
Denmark had a reputation in the school.
He was a sadistic bully with a freaky ability and was known for doing kinky things with his opponents in the case of bullying them for points.
Morgaine, on the other hand, was the notorious Pink Mischief, spreading false news and inciting fights amongst groups of students.
She had never been seen fighting, just causing chaos that would all lead back to her when the mastermind is being searched for.
Still, many had placed their bets on Denmark.
He was the one with power, casting fear on the students, and to solidify that, he was also number 4 on the rankings.
Of course, he was stronger than the Purple Mischief, who relied on her brain more to incite chaos and was further ranked lower than him.
They had expected a long brawl, but what they had gotten seemed like a swift samurai execution.
There was nothing to cheer as over 90% of them were definitely losing the bet.
As for those who won, they dared not scream out and reveal they had just made a fortune, or they would lose their points soon.
Morgaine returned to her seat after the fight, which naturally was by White’s side.
Her expression wasn’t the normal goofy state that she naturally had, but a colder and more callous expression, her claws still fully out and glowing pink energy.
It was like she was a completely different person, with no sign of happiness from just winning her fight.
"Seems like my luck worked for you."
White said from the side with a grin, watching her turn her burning pink eyes to him.
"I’ve gotta say, that was unexpected though. I’d be surprised if he survived that."
He said, looking down at the battle stage, and her gaze followed.
Denmark was being picked up by health instructors and rushed out, while some staff came in to mend the cracks on the barrier as well as the claw marks on the stage.
"He called it on himself..."
Morgaine said inhumanely, and White shrugged.
"Can’t argue that if he was the one who challenged you. Guess I shouldn’t have doubted you saying it won’t take long."
"Though, I’m also wondering if you asked Nova not to come with you, specifically because you didn’t want to freak her out with your true strength."
He added, turning to her with an amused smile.
His reaction left her in a quiet state of shock.
Even the students were purposely avoiding looking at her... for obvious reasons, but he didn’t seem that much bothered at all.
The words made her cold and inhuman persona crack, the lines on her jaw mending themselves, and her sickle-like glow stopped glowing pink, turning straight before withdrawing back into her fingers.
’I changed back... so fast!?’
Morgaine mused in disbelief, looking at her own hands like they didn’t belong to her.
She turned to White, and he noticed her goofy expression quickly returning.
"I was expecting you to be freaked out too."
She spoke.
"Naaaah. I knew you were a weirdo from our first meeting."
"You wouldn’t stop referencing back to the first day, would you? Were you that annoyed about my attack? Geez I didn’t even claw into your neck."
She said,
"Well, you haven’t exactly apologized for that, have you?"
"So, that’s what you want? Sorry?"
She said, her hand sliding its way around his neck, and he noticed her hands shifting into claws that reached for his neck, only to halt as a force field stopped them.
"A sorry will be a start. And maybe a second, sorry for having your claws close to my neck again."
He added, and she giggled.
"Okay, fine. Sorie. I mean sowwy."
She said, and he clicked his tongue.
"Is that how they apologize from the city you come from? Sorie and sowwy?"
She grinned.
"Actually, from where I come from, they don’t apologize. You just do your own back."
She said, and his hands snapped to her neck, though she was as fast as ever, managing to block the attack.
"You! What are you doing?"
"Trying to do my own back?"
White said with an eye roll before withdrawing his hands, turning at the battle stage.
The damage from the last battle had been fully mended and soon enough the second challenge was called up.
One of the students, especially, had a peculiar psychic ability that White recognized from his past life, arresting his attention.
"I’m sorry."
The whisper reached his ears, and he turned to it in surprise, only for a gust of wind to hit him.
Morgaine wasn’t by his side any longer.
He could see her back in the exit as she quietly stepped out of the hall.
"She really said sorry?"
He mused in disbelief before he grinned, turning back to the battle stage.
The fights continued for about thirty minutes more before the instructors finally announced.
"Next Challenge: Inumaki Horaga Vs White Sinclaw."
Cheering exploded through the hall from the announcement, as White rose to his feet, making his way down to the stage.
This was no doubt going to be a good match.
The students knew who he was, the one who defeated the strongest, Gustav, but they also knew Inumaki, who defeated the notorious Rukun Malevolent in less than a minute, and was ranked 2nd on the ranking.
The results were extremely debatable, making many of the students more than excited to watch.
White stepped through the barrier, and opposite him, Inumaki came to view.
"READY!"
The battle instructor shouted as White twisted around his shoulders and arms, preparing.
"BEGIN!"
He ordered.
Both remained standing after the call, and White turned to Inumaki.
"I’m sure quite several students will be challenging you, including Gustav himself, yet you picked me first."
"Don’t know if I should feel honored due to that or listen to Irasul’s voice in my head."
Inumaki said, though it left White puzzled.
"Irasul?"
