Legendary Oops System-Chapter 50: Death?
RIIIIIIIIIP!
An ear-deafening sound echoed through the arena, forcing many to cover their ears, but was quickly followed by an incredibly nauseating smell that reeked of blood and decay.
"What the fuck!?"
Some of the students screamed in disgust, hands trying to cover their noses and ears, but obviously falling.
Still, it was worth noting that they at least stood more than 20 meters away.
Then how difficult was it for White, who stood mere five meters away from the source of it all?
Actually... nothing at all.
The disgust was obviously that of corpses and blood, things he was already used to in his past life.
His ears did ring hard, but what caused that noise didn’t even make his mind register it.
The large slits in the air behind Inumaki were beginning to widen.
It wasn’t a slit anymore, it grew larger and larger and larger until,
CRAAACK!
Space fully cracked and then,
BAAAAANG!
The battle stage cracked to pieces as the creature’s claw slammed onto the ground.
It dug into it, then dragged it, leading to the entirety of its body exiting space.
"Oh no."
White mused, eyes widening like saucers.
Irasul was an Otherworld Summon, but it was obvious to White and anyone that the creature hadn’t been fully summoned.
That was obvious enough, as only two of its claws were able to get out.
He had no idea how this could happen, but there was a hulking creature standing in front of him, with Inumaki still hanging from its right claw.
It was a creature whose body was stretched and warped, muscles pressing unnaturally against pale, almost corpse-like skin.
Its limbs were too long, each ending in a monstrous claw that burned crimson more than ever.
Its back rose in a grotesque arc, allowing it to stand three meters tall, easily dwarfing everyone in the arena.
Then there was the head, or what should be the head.
There were no eyes, no face.
But there was hair.
Thick, dread-like hair made of white skin loosely fell over both sides of its face.
Beneath it, the line on its face parted, and out came a maw lined with jagged, uneven teeth.
When it opened its maw, red blood and rotten human pieces fell to the ground.
White recognized them.
They were the pieces of the flesh of trial takers who had been in the test and died at the hands of Inumaki.
’He feeds them to his summons.’
He mused with creased eyebrows, his body quietly shifting into a battle stance.
ROOOOOOOOOOAR!
A powerful roar boomed through the entire area, sending a sonic wave blasting towards White.
’Activate Limitless Interval.’
’Activate Limitless Body.’
White ordered in an instant; blue runes phasing out on his skin.
The sonic wave slowed down massively, and White raised both hands as an extra guard, but not in a way that covered his eyes.
His eyes never left the creature, and that action of his saved his life as all of a sudden, he watched the creature fade out of thin air.
VROOOOOM!
He dodged to the ground instantly, as Irasul suddenly appeared by White’s side, cleaving out its right claw.
That simple action sent a tsunami of air blasting forward, and when it reached the barrier, cracks instantly appeared on the surface.
[That could have killed you.]
The system notification flashed in bold as White rolled on the ground, coming to a stop crouched on his knees.
Turning forward, he watched Irasul slowly turn to him, and once more, it disappeared.
SLASSSSH!
SLASSSH!
SLASSSH!
For the next few seconds, each of the student held their breath in horror.
They knew the summoned creature of Inumaki was powerful, so powerful that the boy himself didn’t even seem to need to fight.
But this!?
This was a whole other level of power.
The battle stage was sinking in real time; the barriers laced with even more cracks from shockwaves alone!
What was worse, Irasul was teleporting like Inumaki!
The creature normally couldn’t teleport. In its previous fight, the claws, though powerful, were obviously slower than they were strong, but now, with Inumaki still stabbed onto its right claw, the creature was easily teleporting around.
The battle was completely one-sided, with White simply trying his best to dodge most of the attacks, yet it was painstakingly clear this was overkill, as red blood filled up the potholes on the ground.
It shook their hearts that he was even standing at all and dodging with the same fervor as when the battle had started.
____
’This shouldn’t be possible.’
SPURRRT!
Blood splashed out of the side of White’s neck as he narrowly avoided having his entire head cleaved off.
He jumped up, spinning back, and his leg slammed into a claw, whose raw power sent him flying into the air.
The creature reappeared before him, mid-air, slashing once more.
White could only cross his hands as Limitless Interval was completely ripped through, and the claws connected with his arm.
CRAAACK!
The clear sound of bone breaking, and he was blasted backwards towards the barrier.
’This shouldn’t be possible for a non-awakener.’
Before he could reach the barrier, Irasul had teleported once more, appearing behind him, and its claw swung once more with devastating power.
It slammed right into White’s unprotected back, the sound of spine cracking as White was blasted forward the way he was coming.
BAAAANG!
BAAAANG!
BAAAANG!
For the next 30 seconds, all the arena witnessed was White being flung around the stage like a ball.
His feet didn’t touch the ground at all, as Irasul cleaved him apart.
Ultimately, he was thrown high into the air, and Irasul reappeared above him, slamming its claw down.
BOOOOOOM!
A gigantic pothole cracked open on the ground as White slammed into it, disappearing into the darkness.
Murmurs grew among the students when they noticed no activity even after ten seconds.
’Is it finally over?’
They wondered, and even the instructor was about to call the fight over in favor of Inumaki, who was still lying unconscious in Irasul’s hands, but then,
CREAK!
The clear creaking of bones rang out like thunder through the arena’s silence as a bloodied hand reappeared in the air.
