Chapter 55: Meeting Him

Huuuuu,

White exhaled quietly, standing on top of a 7-storey building.

The breeze here was insane, though he managed to regain his footing with not much problem.

Walking to the edge of the building and turning to the northern direction, he could see the glass-dome-like barrier that surrounded another area of the academy.

That flickering purple barrier was a sign:

2nd Year Area.

It belonged to the second year, and naturally, was not allowed entrance for first years.

But it was also in there that his challenge was waiting for him, so he had to go in.

As for whether he could achieve that by pretending to be a 2nd year, that was almost impossible.

On their uniform, there were special golden-colored areas, such as their wrists, their polos, and their coats, which were fully golden.

Not to mention the golden star badge on their chest.

If he wanted to try to look like one, he would have to knock one of them out and take his uniform.

A task that even if he succeeded at, would exhaust him, and when he finally faced the one he’s supposed to fight, he would already be worn out, hence easily defeated.

He had to find a way to reach the challenge ranking of the 2nd year area with nobody noticing him, and that led him to analyze more.

There were 2nd years walking the streets, but looking at the buildings, he noticed there were almost no 2nd-year students at the top of them.

There should be no reason why they should be at the far top of the buildings, so he had found his way to avoid discovery.

He turned to his watch.

It was 7:30. A time White had chosen to allow the dark of night to further aid him.

But that also meant he’s only got 30 minutes to reach his venue.

And speaking of the venue, he turned to the map, narrowing the direction of the 2nd year area.

That led him to slowly turn from the northern to a bit of the north-west area.

"If I follow that long enough, I’ll come before the challenge area."

Shifting back a couple of steps before getting into a running motion.

"Activate Limitless Body."

Runic lines appeared on his skin, glowing even through the uniform, and in the next moment,

VROOOM!

The air blasted atop the building as White raced forward, appearing instantly before the edge before exerting force and bouncing into the air.

He was thrown far up, crossing through the purple barrier and landing on a second-year building.

He only remained there for half a second before once more he bounced off, appearing in another area.

Like a flickering blue phantom, White bounced from building to building, and while some 2nd years on the ground did notice the world glowing blue momentarily, along with a whistling in the air. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

By the time they raised their heads, there was nothing, and some who jumped up to further check what the light was only noticed a blue, blurry shape in the far distance, gaining even more speed and soon disappearing out of view.

____

VROOOOM!

The air flapped as White’s hand grabbed a bar, using it to spin himself before landing on the balcony of a lower building.

He merged with the dark shadow cast on the wall, deactivating Limitless Body as silence fell.

VROOM!

VROOM!

VROOM!

The air flapped thrice as three second-year students flashed past his head

In the end, curiosity had gotten the better of the trio, and they followed him, though he had lost them now.

He turned to his watch, reconfirming his directions.

Now that he was in the 2nd year area, it was like his map had been further upgraded, allowing for even better labels and clearer paths.

He aligned properly to his new direction before reactivating Limitless Body, jumping up, and continuing his run.

Fwhoosh

A slight rustling of the air, and a figure quietly appeared at the center of the arena, having descended right from the hole atop the barrier.

The second White was there, he tried to move to one of the seats but paused, snapping his eyes up towards the top floors of the arena.

There, standing with hands holding the iron steel, was a tall instructor with spectacles.

"Instructor Iritis."

CLAP!

CLAP!

CLAP!

The sound of clapping echoed out from him, and White watched him jump off the railings, landing on the ground as quietly as a feather.

"You came right on the dot," he said, and White turned to his watch.

It was exactly 8:00.

"Would have been weird if he had been slowed down in any way by those averages."

A thicker voice boomed through the arena, and White’s eyes flashed as he turned behind him.

There was an unnatural darkness in that area, making it darker than most areas, but White could still make the silhouette of a person sitting down on the chair, albeit barely.

His suspicion was confirmed when a blue light flickered from the depths of the darkness, piercing towards White, who quietly took a step to the side, dodging the blue laser rays.

He could see the floor crack from the place the laser touched, confirming its lethality.

Only then did he turn back to the figure, but his heart shook when he found him already standing just a few centimeters away from him.

"So fast?"

He wondered, taking a step back.

The man before him was also equally tall.

He was a head taller than White, around 2 meters, with white hair just like White himself, but with blue eyes instead of dark.

Looking into those eyes made White’s heart pound.

His eyes were like a galaxy with blue stars revolving around a central burning blue star.

Even though his physique wasn’t exceptional, the aura that oozed out from him was petrifying.

Still, fear was the last thing White felt.

He grinned in excitement, and in the next moment, without any warning

BOOOM!
