Scanning his available upgrades from top to bottom, Aoni couldn’t help but shudder.
’Both of my potentials, Attack, Defense, and Speed, setting aside the proven effect on my body caused by increasing my physical stats, my potential is a bit different.’ Thinking back to the last time he abused… upgraded his Rank potential, Aoni fully understood that it would trigger the descent of that mysterious yet hot pressure.
’The only problem is, I don’t know if I have enough points left to boost up to E+; however, since the Grade of my Attribute seems to be directly tied to how high I can raise the stats of my Summons, it’s definitely not something I can neglect.’
’On the upside, I already know that increasing my stats isn’t too expensive, well, at least compared to boosting something like my crafted items. It was costing me over a hundred points to get through the F-Rank, but I’ve never spent more than like 20 points on a singular stat upgrade.’ Tilting his head to the side, Aoni slowly opened his eyes and noticed that Glacia already had one of the fruits in her hand, and was sitting on the log, tensed up, ready to spring forward.
That made him chuckle slightly, lightening the mood a bit before he nodded at them and gave a final warning.
"The first thing I plan on doing will most likely trigger the pressure. It’s going to heat up here, so you may want to get ready to move back a bit."
"Gao,"
"Chee,"
’Good luck, brother. Don’t worry, sister, and I know what to do.’ Although her mind was a storm of emotions, Nyria still offered her equivalent of a smile to the Lad, causing him to return it with one of his own and then take a deep breath in.
*Inhale.*
*Exhale.*
’Upgrade my Potential rank by one step.’
User’s potential Rank is at its current maximum
’Huh?’ confused as hell by the sudden pop-up, Aoni’s face scrunched up before he remembered something. In the case of articles with two effects, just because something had an arrow beside it didn’t necessarily mean it could be upgraded.
The only other example the Lad could draw from was in his Summon’s display, the fact that even when he reached the stack max on his Available summons, the Arrow hadn’t vanished because there was still the Total summons which could be added to.
’Fine, fine, increase the Potential of my Attribute.’
Increasing Attribute Potential From 2 Star to 3 Stars
Progress Points have been Deducted
Attribute Potential has reached its Current Maximum
50 pp Earned
As expected, along with the spam of notifications, a column of pressure descended from the sky, expanding out from Aoni’s body in a circle roughly 5 feet in diameter.
Having gone through this several times now, the Lad knew what to expect, and instead of trying to fight against the force bearing down on his entire being, the Lad simply tilted his eyes up to observe his Summons.
Glacia, although trembling immensely and with a wild look in her eyes, stood her ground, fruit in her mouth and poised, ready to rush forward.
Meanwhile, Nyria, who was seeing this for the first time, had retreated practically to the opposite side of the camp and had her back pressed firmly against the wall.
’Br…brother…brother….’ She whimpered, terrified at what she was seeing. She had fully believed that after being warned several times and having had things explained to her, she’d be able to stand on guard, just like her sister; however, Nyria was quickly proven wrong.
When the pressure descended, a primal fear coursed through the birb’s mind, causing her instincts to scream "FLEE!" because she felt as if there were a giant monster staring directly through her, making her think that if she so much as moved a millimeter, she’d be killed on the spot.
Luckily, and as it always had in the past, the pressure vanished just as quickly as it appeared, and with a loud HUFF, Aoni collapsed forward like a marionette whose strings had been cut.
Catching himself by bracing his hands on his knees, the Lad sat there for about a minute, sweating and panting as if he’d just run a mile.
"That shit never gets easier," thinking aloud and looking down at his hands, Aoni couldn’t quite figure out WHAT had changed, but this time, there was something different about his body.
A small portion of the User’s Attribute has been Unlocked, allowing for a partial awakening of 3rd Star Benefits.
Current Potential Rank Maximum has been increased by One Stage
*Blink* *Blink* *Blink* *Blink*
’Abbababa, what now?’ blinking several times as he babbled mentally, Aoni’s eyes flicked between the words on his AN and his Traveler’s display, and the first thing he noticed was that the Arrow, which should have vanished upon upgrading his Attribute’s potential, was still there.
’Hold….what in the hell does that even mean? What the heck is a partial awakening of benefits? How is that possible?’

It shouldn’t be; however, it has been determined that the User’s Progress will be slowed immensely given the current restrictions presented by the User’s Attribute; as such, a one-time allotment has been allowed
’THAT DOESN’T ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTION YOU USELESS, UGHHHHHHHH!’ Slapping his thighs with a muted sound thanks to his hide pants, Aoni straightened his back while furiously inhaling through his nose and exhaling out his mouth.
All will be revealed in time; stop being impatient and continue progressing; only then will you obtain the answers you seek
’Get that cryptic bullshit out of my face,’ swatting at the air as if the window was a bug, Aoni huffed one more time before checking his points and seeing the upgrade had cost him 100 points but yielded 50 in return.
"ooOo, gao Oooo," *oh great, he’s doing it again.*
"Clack…." *uh-huh*
"gaoo, gaooo?" *does that mean hes not hungry or hot?’
"Che…eee." *I…think so?*
"Hm? What are you two chattering about over there?" raising an eyebrow since they’d drawn his attention, Aoni asked shamelessly.
’Nothing, brother, we are just wondering if you are alright.’ Nyria replied, but the way her eyes darted side to side spoke another story altogether.
