One of the most well-known and sought-after abilities that Travelers have access to is the very thing that Aoni was just given a chance to obtain: Elementalized Energia.

Throwing Fireballs, controlling Water, Manipulating Lightning- all these were done by utilizing Elementalized Energia.

However, the issue is not everyone gets it, and those that do generally have to be either surrounded by it, allowing their Energia Cell and Body to be baptized in it, or consume an EXTREMELY pricey and rare resource.

Yet even if one of those two conditions is met, there is still one significant stopgap in place, which was supposed to be law, and this is the Rank Restriction.

Typically, It’s not until a being has a C-Rank Energia Stat that they can even consider attempting to obtain Elementalized Energia.

But if the notification was to be believed, Aoni, who had a measly F- Ranked Energia Stat, was being given the opportunity to not only obtain an Element exceedingly early but also would get to skip over the other step altogether.

Honestly, it was a bit too much to believe, even for the lad who could seemingly break all the rules which for thousands of years had remained unchallenged.

So, although he was extremely over-excited at the prospect, he didn’t allow his skepticism to go unnoticed.

’It can’t be as easy as saying Go ahead, nothing in the world is free…I am more than willing to bet everything on the fact that I will be subjected to some ungodly level of pain or a mindbreaking experience.

Wiping the grease from his lips with his sleeve, Aoni stared long and hard at the two notifications.

As much as he wanted to jump head first into things, it had been proven to him time and time again that if he did, only agony waited for him; thus, Aoni found himself sitting there, lost in thought and staring off into the horizon.

’Even if it is a free upgrade, I still need to consider what Element I would end up with…the obvious answer would be Ice, but that is classified as a variant Element, and usually, one has to work up to it starting with Water.’

’If it’s something I get from consuming the Chimera, there’s a strong chance I could also get something like Earth or one of its Variants, Wood and Metal, and this is a mountain with trees, after all, not just an Arctic Tundra.’

"Fuck it; I was already all in the day I found out about my Attribute being tied to my Personal Progress; convert the Overabundance of Energia into Elementalized Energia." Steeling his mind, Aoni flicked his wrist, tossed the knife away from him, and quickly fell onto his back on the ground, just in case something drastic occurred.

Roughly an hour later, after passing out, Aoni’s eyes fluttered slightly before opening, and he realized not only was he FREEZING like never before, but he was also lying on the ground staring up at the sky.

’Hahhh, hahhh, fuck,’ sitting up and immediately bringing his knees to his chest and wrapping himself with his arms, Aoni couldn’t stop himself from shivering.

"Damn it, bad idea, bad idea," closing his eyes tightly and trying his best not to freak out, the lad could feel his breath penetrating through the layers of his makeshift jacket with an icy chill.

"We…well, ha…it…looks like I broke another record…." Half panting as he was struggling to breathe due to each inhale feeling like needles piercing into his throat and lungs, Aoni couldn’t help but chuckle in a self-deprecating manner.

"16, newly…awakened, with an F- Energia Stat, and…hah… I already have an Element; this is something unheard of…sure…those rich bastards…go into their territories with special resources, allowing for early Access to Elementalized Energia…but never in written history have they done it with a stat as low as mine…"

Sitting there on the ground, balled up and praying the cold would subside, Aoni didn’t even bother checking on his meat or even figuring out how long he’d been unconscious; instead, he did the most logical thing he could think of and opened his Traveler’s display.

"Come on….it’s just a little chilly, right… Aoni? Nothing you haven’t …dealt with over the past week; stop being a baby." Still breathing shakily as he tried getting used to the sensation, the lad exerted some effort to do so but eventually released his knees and body before standing up and moving around a bit.

"Plot a course; my first move should be increasing my Rank Potential, followed by my Resistances, then I need to figure out how long I was unconscious; if it wasn’t too long, I don’t need to worry about Glacia right now, and can instead work on my situation first."
