Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 213: You Guys Really Know How to Play
Silas Sutton is skilled at beguiling people.
This is the conclusion Stella Grant has reached after spending some time with him.
After Silas finishes speaking, Stella takes a small breath and turns her gaze away, without responding or refuting, calmly turning to look out the window.
As they exit the highway, Stella originally thought Silas would head straight back to Bloomwood Gardens, but unexpectedly he took a detour to The Lawson Group.
Even more surprising, Sue Woods ended up being with Ben Lawson.
When the four of them met, Ben was dressed in a flamboyant pink, while Sue was in a sky blue.
The two stood side by side, looking like a picture from afar, but causing visual confusion up close.
Upon seeing Stella, Sue approached first and hugged her, seeming like a deep sisterly embrace, but whispering in complaint, "If you had been a minute later getting off the highway, I was about to dig a hole and crawl into it."
Stella was puzzled, "Hmm?"
Sue said, "A grown man, and so pink, people might think I found myself a dandy."
Hearing this, Stella glanced at Ben, unable to hold back her laughter, "He is quite pink indeed."
Sue, "Honestly, I’ve never seen a man so boldly dressed before."
Stella teased, "How many men have you seen?"
Sue pouted, "Too flamboyant. Standing next to him just now, I felt like I was his bodyguard."
To be fair, Sue’s description felt fitting.
Standing next to Ben, she was the epitome of masculinity, while Ben was truly effeminate.
While Stella and Sue chatted here, Silas and Ben were not idle on their side.
Worried about Stella overhearing, Ben handed Silas a cigarette, lowering his voice a bit, "Miles Sutton told Master Sutton about you and Stella. I hear the old man was in a real rage last night."
Silas took the cigarette and lit it, speaking nonchalantly, "How do you know?"
Ben replied, "Second Master Winslow told me."
There’s a bodyguard deployed by Sean Winslow at The Sutton Family’s old residence.
Silas, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, chuckled, "At his age, shouldn’t he know how to take care of himself?"
Ben wasn’t in the mood for jokes and asked him quietly, "What are you planning to do? Master Sutton might take action against Stella, considering his tactics."
Silas flicked the cigarette ash off and said casually, but there was ice in his words, "Let him dare."
Ben countered, "What’s there to stop him? To tie you to The Shelby Family in marriage, I doubt he has any boundaries..."
Silas glanced at Stella, putting the cigarette back between his lips, "I’m planning to marry Stella."
Ben was stunned into silence.
A few seconds passed before Ben came to his senses, asking, "Did you two progress so quickly?"
Silas eyed Ben, "Got a problem with that?"
Suspicion flickered in Ben’s eyes, "I’m not against it, I’m just curious what happened between you two in Brynnfield for things to move so fast. I distinctly remember before you went to Brynnfield, Stella was avoiding you..."
Ben’s curiosity was through the roof.
He thought Silas would tell him some ’techniques for winning over a woman,’ but instead, Silas lazily said, "She hasn’t agreed yet."
Ben, "..."
Ben’s inner voice: So, you’ve been bluffing all this time, huh?
Seeing the disdain in Ben’s eyes, Silas said earnestly, "Half a month, and I’ll have the marriage certificate right in front of you."
Ben’s mouth twitched, "Luckily there’s no wind today."
Silas raised an eyebrow, "Hmm?"
Ben, "If it was windy, I’m afraid you’d twist your tongue."
Silas sneered lightly, "Get ready with the wedding gift money."
Ben was on the verge of laughter, "I’ve got the wedding house all prepared for you."
A few minutes later, the four got into the car to return to Bloomwood Gardens.
In the car, Ben openly talked about matters back at The Sutton Family.
Stella and Sue listened from the back seat, exchanging glances, pretending they heard nothing.
After a while, Sue couldn’t hold back her curiosity anymore, taking out her phone to message Stella: As expected, there are always stories in affluent families.
Stella’s phone vibrated, her fair fingers tapping the screen: Not my business.
Sue: I didn’t get a chance to ask earlier, but did I hear Ben right that you’re together with Silas?
Stella was startled for a moment, knowing this couldn’t stay hidden, she simply told the truth: Six months term.
Sue: ???
Stella: We agreed to only date for six months.
After Stella’s message was sent, Sue looked at her, and after her shock came a face full of admiration, lowered her head to send a message: When it comes to playing the game, you two are the masters indeed.
