Livestream: Awakening as Kaitō Kid, Shocking the World-Chapter 57: Final Ultimatum! Commit Seppuku!
Chapter 57 - 57: Final Ultimatum! Commit Seppuku!
So this whole trip wasn't about seeing someone off.
It was all about delivering the Dragon Head and Gu Kaizhi's Admonitions of the Instructress Scroll.
This was a tactic the Dragon Nation Embassy had learned from Zhang Yang!
A classic case of luring the tiger away from the mountain, confusing the enemy!
On the way back, the Dragon Nation Embassy's car drove slowly, taking its time, just in case the Enforcement Bureau or the Japanese agents lost track.
Harrison watched as the car pulled into the Dragon Nation Embassy and then met up with the Enforcement Bureau's captain.
"Harrison, sir!"
"They were just dropping someone off at the airport, we had eyes on them the entire time!"
Harrison couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but for now, he couldn't pinpoint what exactly had gone wrong.
"You're sure?"
The captain nodded without hesitation.
"Positive. They never once left our sight."
It was already past midnight. As soon as Harrison heard the embassy was making a move, he rushed over with his team.
And it turned out to be nothing more than a trip to the airport, wasting his time for nothing.
And it wasn't just him—Kameda Motoji had been dragged out for nothing too.
"Damn it! Out here in the middle of the night just to see someone off? Who the hell is so important?"
"Keep watching them. If the Dragon Head really is in the embassy, we cannot let it get back to the Dragon Nation!"
They were dead serious, not letting their guard down even a little.
But the next morning, the Dragon Head appeared in the Dragon Nation's museum—right alongside Gu Kaizhi's Admonitions of the Instructress Scroll!
Even though the Dragon Nation didn't make any official announcement, the news still spread like wildfire across the globe.
[Whoa! The Dragon Nation got another of the Twelve Zodiac Bronze Heads back!]
[What the hell? When did the Dragon Head make it to the Dragon Nation?]
[Damn it! Thieves! Bandits! That's ours!]
[Shit! The Dragon Head really did make it back to the Dragon Nation. Kaitō Kid must be a Dragon Nation spy!]
[Huh? What the hell are you talking about? Did you see Kaitō Kid hand it over with your own eyes?]
The next morning, Zhang Yang saw the news too. He hadn't gone to the embassy last night.
First, because there were people watching the entrance—it would've been too risky.
Second, the embassy itself couldn't easily move the artifacts back to the Dragon Nation.
Zhang Yang chuckled coldly.
"How funny. So many eyes on them, and they still missed it!"
He'd already seen the kind of surveillance around the embassy last time.
Others might not know how the Dragon Head made it back, but Zhang Yang knew.
"I'll send the sword over later too. Looks like the embassy's got some tricks after all!"
This return of the Dragon Head and the Admonitions Scroll left both the British royal family and the Japanese emperor stunned.
They'd had the Dragon Nation Embassy under constant watch, yet still failed to stop the artifacts from returning home.
[Shit! Everything Kaitō Kid steals ends up back in the Dragon Nation, and they still won't admit it!]
[Oh my god! Is there really no way to catch Kaitō Kid?]
[If it's not yours, don't force it. Barking won't help!]
[Fuck! Each of those pieces is worth a billion dollars! Isn't Kaitō Kid a master thief? Why would he give it to the Dragon Nation?]
[Exactly, Kaitō Kid's a master thief, no way he'd hand stuff over to them. Makes no sense!]
The news of the Dragon Head's return sent shockwaves through the internet.
And Zhang Yang's inbox? Completely flooded.
Ninety percent of the messages were people asking if he was the one who gave the artifacts to the Dragon Nation.
The rest? Half were offers to buy, the other half were rants and hate.
Zhang Yang never bothered to reply. Not to any of them.
[NO! The Dragon Nation must give an explanation—those artifacts were stolen right here in Britain!]
[An explanation? This is the game, who owes anyone anything?]
[If you could actually get an explanation, you wouldn't be here pounding your keyboard in the comments!]
[Seriously, how does Kaitō Kid's loot magically show up in the Dragon Nation every time? Isn't that enough of a clue?]
[Fuck! We should use military force to take down Kaitō Kid!]
When Harrison saw the latest news, he was completely stunned, his head buzzing.
Faced with another round of scolding from the British royal family, his mind was blank.
At this point, Harrison was so crushed by Zhang Yang's constant tricks that he could barely think straight, no clue how the Dragon Head and Admonitions Scroll ended up back in the Dragon Nation.
Especially after being chewed out by the royals, his head was about to explode.
"Could it be the artifacts weren't in the Dragon Nation Embassy at all? Did the Dragon Nation buy them off Kaitō Kid?"
Harrison frowned, deep in thought.
"The embassy trip last night... it wasn't just seeing someone off—they were transporting the Dragon Head?"
"But the Enforcement Bureau and those Japanese agents were watching them the whole time. There was no chance!"
He racked his brain but just couldn't figure out how the Dragon Head and Admonitions Scroll had slipped away.
"Fuck! That sly fox!"
The Dragon Head being returned to the Dragon Nation had already infuriated the British royal family.
You could only imagine how the Japanese side was reacting!
Kawasaki and Kameda Motoji were immediately given a death order—within 48 hours, no matter the means or method, they must capture Kaitō Kid, or they'd have to commit seppuku!
Kawasaki's face was long as a mule. He asked in a low voice, "Kameda-san, didn't we confirm the Dragon Nation Embassy didn't move anything out yesterday?"
"How did the Dragon Head end up in the Dragon Nation?"
Kameda was just as baffled.
"Kawasaki-san, our agents followed them the whole time. They never left our sight!"
"Maybe we got it all wrong. Maybe the Dragon Head wasn't in the embassy's hands at all!"
At this point, Kawasaki didn't want to waste time figuring out how the Dragon Head got back.
They had 48 hours to catch Kaitō Kid, or the emperor would have them both disembowel themselves.
"Kameda-san, we must catch Kaitō Kid fast, or we'll never be able to show our faces back in the homeland!"
"His Majesty has given us permission to use any method, any means necessary to get him—even without Britain's approval, you can use weapons!"
"If we still can't catch Kaitō Kid, then we'll just commit seppuku and stay in this embassy forever!"
Kameda's face was grim as he got up and walked out of Kawasaki's office.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yang was already out the door, the sword of Emperor Qin Shi Huang packed in a rectangular foam box, tightly wrapped in tape.
At this point, even a fly trying to get into the Dragon Nation Embassy would probably get interrogated by the Enforcement Bureau or Japanese agents.
So delivering the sword into the embassy wasn't going to be easy.
And he couldn't afford to stir things up near the embassy either—that would only draw more attention.
His go-to trick of sneaking through chaos? Not going to cut it this time.
So Zhang Yang would have to get creative. Last time he scoped out the embassy, the front gate had the heaviest surveillance.
But the other three sides of the embassy walls? Each only had one car stationed there, just a single team per side.
"Alright, so the pigeon can't fly into the embassy—but that doesn't mean it's useless."
