Su Jiuyi poured the medicine into the basin, then used a thoroughly soaked towel, wrung it dry, and gently wiped his skin, afraid of waking him.

After following Doctor Chen’s instructions, the clock pointed to two o’clock. She removed the towel from his forehead and checked his temperature; it was no longer hot, but the red spots on his body hadn’t subsided yet.

She didn’t dare to sleep, only sitting beside him to rest, occasionally helping him change the towels.

Outside, the sky began to lighten, with rays of light filtering through the gaps of the curtains, casting a beam onto the bed.

Not knowing what to say next, fearing awkwardness, she quickly added, "What do you want for breakfast? I’ll prepare..."

He stared intensely into her eyes for a moment before saying, "I’ll do it."

"No, you’re the patient!" Seeing him about to get up, she quickly held his shoulder down to sit him back, "I’ll take care of it, a bit of porridge with boiled eggs and some side dishes, okay?"
