Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 594: The Reason Why Maxieno Visits Arielle
"Hmph!"
Maxieno turned his face away and folded his arms in front of his chest.
"I will not return to meet the princess of the Desert Dragon. The Desert Dragons are not real dragons! They are just giant lizards!" Maxieno said, making Otis massage his temples.
"I understand, Lord Maximeno. I have talked to them, and they are willing to leave Birwick and return to Thebis Desert. You can come back now."
"Did you clean up all their remnants?"
"Yes, you can return to the castle without worrying about smelling their scents again."
"This is a warning to you, Otis. If in the future you do something stupid like this again without prior approval, I’m leaving Birwick forever, and you’ll never be able to find me."
"Please don’t say things like that. You are the current leader of Birwick Mountain. Everyone respects you and no one can manage Birwick the way you do. I admit my mistake this time. So please come back..."
Arielle hugged the dragon egg and glanced at Maxieno and Otis in turn.
What had really happened?
Arielle still waited for an explanation from Otis. She was standing together with Luffy while watching Otis and Maxieno argue with each other. Luffy then drew closer to her.
"It seems they still need a long time to resolve their problems. We can just wait outside first," he said.
Arielle thought so too. The girl put back the dragon egg that Otis had dropped earlier. Even when she asked to leave the room, both Otis and Maxieno didn’t listen.
Arielle and Luffy went out and looked for another room to have a rest. William and several people at the front of the room had been asked not to tell Ronan because Arielle didn’t want the man to abandon his job.
Lucas arrived, offering warm tea and cake to fill Luffy’s stomach who had a long journey from Birwick to Northendell without rest.
"What happened? Why did Lord Otis and Maxieno fight?" Arielle asked Luffy.
"This is all because of me," replied the boy while lowering his head.
"You? What have you done?"
Luffy scratched his temple, feeling a little hesitant to tell what had happened.
"Er... Arielle, you must know Violet, right?"
"Yes, that very beautiful female dragon?"
Luffy nodded.
"All this time... Maxieno and Violet thought that they were a mate whose bond had not yet formed. And almost all the dragons in Birwick thought the same thing. Until... two weeks ago..."
Arielle waited for Luffy to continue his explanation. The child then blushed. Even his yellow skin couldn’t hide the blush on his cheeks. His ears also turned orange with embarrassment. Arielle took a sip of her tea while waiting for Luffy to continue his story.
"It t-turns out that... I am Violet’s mate."
Arielle coughed in surprise. She spouted the tea that had just entered her mouth, splashing Luffy’s face. The girl rushed to take a napkin and wiped Luffy’s face from the rest of the tea that was on his face.
"Luffy! I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be rude. I... I was just too shocked and couldn’t contain my surprise. I’m sorry..."
Luffy wasn’t offended at all. The young boy actually laughed, making Arielle feel even more guilty.
After wiping Luffy’s face, Arielle also cleaned up the spilled tea on the table. She did not expect the news she had just heard. Luffy and Violet? Arielle checked Luffy once again.
Luffy now looked more mature indeed. He might have just entered his teenage years. Back then, the boy was only as tall as Sasha. However, since he trained with his father for a month at the same time as Arielle trained with Maxieno, Luffy had grown taller than her.
"Luffy, aren’t you still too young to have a mate?" asked Arielle quietly, not wanting to offend Luffy.
"Ah... yes, it’s true that I’m still a child. At my current age, maybe I’m still a teenager in Maxieno’s or Violet’s eyes. I’m only seventy, so I can understand why they still look at me like a child."
"S-seventy years old? You’ve been seventy years old all this time?" asked Arielle in disbelief.
Luffy tilted his head. He didn’t understand the shock expression on Arielle’s face. Was it really shocking information? Wasn’t seventy years a very young age?
Ah... Luffy forgot about the age difference between humans and dragons.
"Actually, I’ve often been told that I’m a late-developing dragon. By the time my siblings had grown up and some of my friends, as well as the younger dragons had grown ahead of me, I was still in child form. I am too insecure. That’s why I prefer to be alone and accept my condition without wanting to change. Until I meet you, Arielle. I see your persistence in learning, and I wanted to do the same. And within a month, I went through puberty and became an adult. That’s when the bond between me and Violet must have started to form."
Arielle pressed her lips still in disbelief.
"Then... what about Violet? She’s... interested in you too, right?" she asked in a bit of hesitation.
Arielle remembered very well the first time she met Maxieno at Birwick. She saw Violet sitting on the man’s lap. The first impression that Arielle got was that they were lovers, but they weren’t. Yet, Violet was always there for Maxieno and only listened to his orders. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Luffy’s blush slowly faded away. His cheerful smile was gone and replaced by a bitter smile.
"Right now, maybe Violet still needs an adjustment. She tried to meet Maxieno several times even though Maxieno always refused to meet her. Maybe they both need to talk. But, it’s okay ... there has never been a history of a mate cheating on each other. I believe Violet just needs time to adjust, especially when she found out that her mate is a failed dragon like me."
Arielle reached out her hand to hold Luffy’s hand. She squeezed it gently.
"Luffy... you can’t talk like that. You are not a failed dragon. The proof is that you managed to fight your fear and grow up this fast. You just have to wait and give Violet your love like a real mate," said Arielle.
Luffy nodded in understanding. He understood what Arielle was trying to convey, but it was easier said than done.
