Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 627: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)
I was, of course, still curious about what Amadea meant by having avenged everything. Hopefully, it wasn’t something bad.
"Cecilia."
"Yes?"
"Marry me."
"Sorry?"
I was quite surprised by the proposal just now. I now understood that my relationship with Amadea was a relationship made by the gods, but I still needed time to process all of this. Everything happened so fast that I didn’t have time to think about it.
From the beginning, Amadea did introduce me as his wife. I didn’t really understand because the man did it without talking to me first. Besides, we were not married yet, and I just got to know his name today. We might be bound by a certain bond, but I had said my marriage vows with another man.
Maybe if I hadn’t become King Theodore’s concubine I would have received it with open arms, but ... I already had a husband, and it was likely that King Theodore must be looking for me right now.
My hand was held gently. I restrained myself from holding his hand back.
"Cecillia, you and that human are not husband and wife. Both of you... haven’t touched each other yet, have you? I know because your scent is still purely yours."
My heart was beating really fast when the man put his face close to my neck. He sniffed it a few times to smell my scent. I was dirty... I had also been sweating a lot and being this close suddenly made me a little uncomfortable.
"Amadea... can you give me a moment to process all of this? It feels really rushed."
I pushed his body away because I felt uncomfortable because the man didn’t move away after sniffing my scent. Then, I covered his mouth and nose, asking the man to stop doing what he was doing at the moment. Seriously, having someone sniffing my scent made me uncomfortable, especially because I knew that I was very dirty right now.
"Why? You’re going back to that lowly human?"
I averted my face. I didn’t know. I didn’t want to meet the people who had hurt me, but King Theodore, as well as Princess Leonor were good people. Leaving them just like that without saying goodbye felt very wrong, mostly towards King Theodore who was my husband. It was true that lately, the man had been colder to me, but he still gave me a lot of help indirectly.
He was also the one who had taken care of me for the last few months. He was my first friend in Northendell.
"I don’t know. That’s why I need some time to think about it again."
"Cecilia, look at me."
I turned and looked at his brilliant red irises that glimmered beautifully as the man asked. I didn’t know what he was looking at right now. Was he trying to read my mind again? I tried to distract myself with the food and fresh water of the bath, but then the man’s smile made my face blush.
I didn’t know why I was like this. I had seen people’s smiles a lot. The kind Princess Leonor also often smiled at me, and King Theodore as a good friend also smiled often, but my heart had never been beating this fast before. If only I could neutralize it right away.
"Okay, as a good husband, I will listen to my wife’s request."
"We are not married yet," I said, reminding Amadea that even though we were mates, we still hadn’t made our wedding vows.
"In a moment, I want you to get used to the way I call you."
Could I refuse? The man smiled with satisfaction, as if he felt that even if I refused, he would still do it.
Amadea stood up to take my hand. "One thing you need to know, Cecillia." He turned back to look at me. His crooked smile really made me feel uneasy. "I am the most stubborn man in Birwick. So, I hope you can understand that."
I nodded in approval. We met with Hylios who was waiting in front of the house. Amadea said that he would take me to a place, so Hylios was still forbidden from returning to his clan for the next few days. I tried to greet the rude dragon with a smile, but he just averted his face.
This place was truly like heaven, surrounded by tall green trees with beautiful rays of sun tucked between the leaves, making it look like a beam of light. Besides that, this place was also full of various types of creatures that I had never seen before.
Several small animals were seen peeking behind the bushes and Amadea didn’t seem to pay much attention to them. I waved my hand, and they quickly ran away, making me feel guilty.
"You don’t need to feel guilty. These little creatures are shy, but they are very curious. I hope you don’t get too close to them because they will really tire you out later. If you give your name, they will dare to ask more than a thousand questions. Don’t go near them."
"Sounds adorable."
Amadea looked back with a frown.
"You can say that now. Wait until you serve each of their questions. You will regret it later."
I couldn’t help but laugh at the seriousness Amadea showed when the man tried to warn me about small things like I was forbidden to touch certain types of mushrooms, I was forbidden to talk to dragons, and I was forbidden this and that.
"Ah... sounds boring. It’s no different from Northendell. I can’t do anything here either."
I saw from behind that the man’s body tensed.
"Cecillia... why are you saying that? You can of course be friends with them..."
"But, you said earlier I couldn’t be friends with them?"
"Maybe you heard wrong. I said you CAN be friends with them," said Amadea firmly. I was sure the man didn’t say that I couldn’t be friends with them for several reasons. I nodded and thanked him for the leniency the man gave me.
Then, after a while, we arrived at a small lake. At the end of the lake, there was a river that flew gently. The water was so clear that I could see the bottom.
"This is my favorite place. It’s clear, not too deep, you can bathe here."
Hearing the word bathe made me very enthusiastic. It felt like I hadn’t cleansed my body for a long time, so I wanted to get into the water right away.
"I really can bathe here?"
"Yeah, this is my place. No one is allowed to visit this place besides me."
I nodded in understanding. I just had to wait for Amadea to leave here so I could clean my body from sweat and traces of blood.
"You’re not in?"
"Huh?"
I turned to Amadea who was still standing in his place.
"You’re not going?" I asked.
"Huh? Going where? And what for?"
"I-I’m uncomfortable if you are still here watching me taking a bath."
"Ah... that... but we’re husband and wife."
"Amadea ... we are not husband and wife yet."
Amadea chuckled then turned around. "I will still be here. I don’t want anything to happen to you. If that makes you uncomfortable, I’ll turn around so you don’t have to worry about someone seeing you."
I still had doubts. However, seeing Amadea sitting on the ground with his back to the lake, I knew sending him away would be pointless.
"Really, Amadea. I don’t feel comfortable if anyone is watching. You won’t turn around. Promise?"
"Yes, I understand."
I took a deep breath then walked a step forward to take off my clothes. If only Amadea was King Theodore, maybe I wouldn’t feel as free as this. I would still choose not to bathe even though King Theodore wasn’t facing me. I would probably think of reasons not to take off my clothes.
I looked back when all my clothes were off and saw Amadea sitting cross-legged with his back to me. I smiled at the man. Then, I touched my face that felt hot and immediately put my feet into the lake.
I let out a long sigh as the fresh water enveloped my body.
"You’re already in?"
I turned again to make sure Amadea didn’t turn around and sighed with relief that the man was still holding his ground.
"Yeah, this water is really refreshing."
"I know, right? I like this place too because the water is so refreshing."
I walked deeper into the lake where the water was only up to my chest. Then, I touched the big rock in the middle of the lake as a support. The water around me was so clear that I could see my own body in the water.
I rinsed some sweaty dirty parts of my body and hair then wiped my face. I felt like lingering here. I saw the sky of Birwick Mountain which was so beautiful. The white clouds looked very thin, as if hanging above the blue sky.
SSSK SSKKK!
I turned to the side when I thought I heard the sound of the bushes moving. I thought it was just my imagination because Amadea said that this place was his special place. It was impossible for any other creatures to enter here.
I washed my hair while combing it with both hands. And while I was so fixated on cleaning my body, I heard the strange sound again. I looked to the side where the moving bushes were, and it felt like my heart almost stopped beating as a pair of eyes were staring right at me.
"KYAAAA!!!!!"
