Chapter 626: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)

Most of the explanations didn’t make any sense to my ears, but I still listened carefully. Then, Hylios transformed into a very beautiful white unicorn and returned to human form to prove that he wasn’t lying. Yet, the horn on his forehead remained there and didn’t disappear.

"What... is the daughter of the Moon Goddess?" I asked in confusion because everything that happened to me right now was all too strange and hard to believe.

It was only a while ago that I was still a princess from the Kingdom of Birwick, and I was brought to Northendell to become the king’s concubine. Then, I found out that my blood was able to treat wounds as well as all kinds of diseases and... got bad treatment for letting people take advantage of me without having a chance to resist.

"We are people who were directly blessed by the Moon goddess. You are the first human to get it, while other creatures have already got it long ago."

I looked at my palm and focused on hearing Hylios, the unicorn, explained again.

Hylios explained that the Sun God first blessed Amadea with his power. Making him one of the guardians of Birwick Mountain because the human population was getting higher, and he was also assigned to always guard Birwick Mountain.

The Gods had their own favorite places on earth, and Birwick Mountain was the favorite place of the Moon Goddess, the Sun God’s sister. Thus, the Sun God sent several heavenly creatures to guard her sister’s favorite place.

However, as time went by, the Moon Goddess saw... Amadea’s loneliness. Being in charge of guarding Birwick Mountain and the creatures that inhabit it, Amadea couldn’t stay with her group forever and that made him lonely.

"I’m not lonely," cut Amadea, making Hylios smile.

"Yeah, you could say that. The point is the Moon Goddess wanted to give Amade a small gift for taking good care of Birwick, namely by forming a mate bond. A bond that only the Moon Goddess could form."

Hylios also explained about the purpose of the Moon Goddess in making this bond so that the creatures on this earth could know that they had their own mate. And Amadea also got one, namely from the human race.

"And you are the mate that the Moon Goddess has prepared for Amadea. Moreover... you are also blessed with her power. As a companion for the incarnation of the Sun God, of course the Moon Goddess wouldn’t make Amadea’s partner an ordinary human. She will be a special human."

"You have the power to heal with your blood, so you can also help many beings in Birwick along with Amadea who will protect them. And you should also be able to control flames like Amadea. A mate from a creature that controls flame must, of course, be able to control flames as well," said Hylios, which for some reason made my face blush.

"However, it seems that your power has not been fully unlocked. You can still be injured because of the flames and the wounds on your body have not healed by themselves." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

I was really nervous after hearing it. Somehow, I felt like I became someone else. I always felt that I wasn’t special at all. The power of my blood ... it actually made me feel in hell, but Hylios said that all of that had a purpose. My power purpose was to protect Birwick like Amadea did.

"Can Amadea also heal wounds too?"

Hylios shook his head. "Amadea can’t heal wounds. Only you and the entire unicorn clan can, and maybe your descendants too... but not all of them can do it."

"Descendants?"

Hylios muttered. "I can’t see that far, but I’m sure there must be one of them with powers like you."

My descendant? With whom? I was the wife of King Theodore and so far I had never let myself be touched by that man.

"Ekhem, of course with me."

I looked to the side. I could see Amadea pressed his lips together and still looked at Hylios. Suddenly, my cheeks felt hot when I saw the man’s cheeks slowly turning red.

"Hylios, one more task for you, but I want to talk to Cecilia first. Only the two of us."

Hylios nodded then turned into a unicorn and asked permission to leave the room. I nodded my head as the unicorn’s head bowed and left. Being left alone with Amadea... felt even more awkward now.

I had been alone with the man many times, but why did it feel like my heart was beating so fast that it felt like it could explode any time right now?

"Cecilia."

"Yes?"

"Have you heard? The unicorn clan are creatures that can see the future. Hylos is also the incarnation of the Moon Goddess. He already knew that one day my mate would come from the human race. At first... it was hard for me to accept considering... I didn’t really like humans. But from the moment you were born, I knew right away that something within the walls of Birwick Castle held something that would change my world."

"Amadea..."

"I had only lived as usual, keeping the order of Birwick Mountain to remain stable and balanced. I had also given humans the chance to build their kingdom on the edge, but I had grown to dislike it because they were slowly starting to invade areas they shouldn’t touch."

"I wanted to have your father’s castle destroyed so badly, but whenever I was around him, my heart always urged me to protect him. But, lately your father had been really pissing me off because he dared to meet every beings on Birwick Mountain asking for help to protect his kingdom."

"Without being asked, I would protect them, because you were also there. But when he came to the dragon clan, I became even more annoyed and decided that I would let your father’s kingdom fall to pieces. Yet, that night I met you by chance and at one glance, I could tell you were my mate."

Amadea explained everything. He said that he attacked Northendell’s entourage, but it turned out that he only found a woman he didn’t know pretending to be me. Amadea also felt annoyed because he couldn’t approach me every night. He was frustrated that I didn’t feel the same way he did.

I wanted to say honestly, that.. I felt the same attraction since the first time we met. And when the man gave me a sight for the first time, I was able to see the world and am very grateful to have met him.

"Amidst the frustration, I had to meet with the dragon clan to solve the problem because the dragon clan attacked the human group and started a war with them. Your father wanted the dragon clan to protect his kingdom, but the pride of the dragon clan certainly wouldn’t agree to that request. They would choose to accept war rather than become human self-guard dogs. And it was at that moment, I felt your presence slowly disappear from Birwick Mountain."

Amadea was still waiting for me during the full moon, as they had promised. Even though I didn’t come, he still waited every night until the next few days.

"I just thought that you forgot your promise. But, after a week I sat in the place we had promised, I planned to visit you so you could fulfill your promise. However, the thing I got is that you were no longer in Birwick. If it wasn’t for Hylios, I might have killed both of your parents."

I gasped and was shocked to hear that.

"What did you say?"

"But, I didn’t because it meant I had to deal with your father. Sorry Cecillia, but I have absolutely no respect for your father. Your father is no different from other humans who are greedy and wicked."

I really wanted to defend my father, but there wasn’t a single word that I could say because what Amadea said was something that I had always thought of. Yet, I didn’t have the courage to say it out loud.

"I looked for you and found that you were married." Amadea laughed for a moment. "It’s okay. I just thought of it as a joke. You might just need a bit of fresh air, so I gave it to you. But again, I couldn’t stand the treatment of those arrogant humans that had hurt you."

He touched my face slowly then kissed my eyes.

"I was so mad when they stupidly hurt someone special like you."

He put his forehead on mine. We stared at each other for a few moments. His face came closer as if he wanted to kiss me, but he still continued talking. I was so confused whether I should close my eyes or keep listening to his explanation.

"The dragon clan was acting up again and you let go of your hand. I couldn’t save you right away when they hurt you because of your power. But it’s fine now. I have avenged everything."

"What have you done?"

The man smiled, "Oh, you don’t need to know, Sweetheart."
