Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 646: Arielle And Her Thoughts
The doctor quickly treated Ronan’s wound. He also bandaged it so that it no longer bled. Meanwhile, Arielle’s wound, which was soooo small, was also being treated.
After the doctor left the room, Ronan asked his wife to go back to sleep. They hadn’t slept all night because they read Princess Cecillia’s memoir earlier. Ronan would probably look up who Miss Poppy was to find out the exact location of what happened in the past.
One thing she was sure of, Amadea’s heart was in Thebis. Thebis had two conflicting beliefs. The majority of the citizens of Thebis, including Sultan Nasser, the ruler of the Thebis Kingdom, were a group of phyromathians who always worshiped flames.
As Priest Elis and Priest Khan had said, they didn’t want the eternal flame to be touched by other people because all this time, Thebis had been using the eternal flame to expand their territory.
The region of Thebis itself mostly consisted of desert.
Priest Khan who had met Arielle was one of the high priests there. Behind his duties as the kingdom’s high priest, he was one of the group that wanted to extinguish the eternal flame. He thought that there was nothing that could be obtained from the eternal flame besides drought and disaster.
However, because the anti-pyromethians were a minority group, they were slowly displaced and pretended to merge with the majority, hiding their true identities so as not to be further isolated in their kingdom.
Thus, before Priest Khan left, he begged Ronan not to reveal his words to the sultan. He also apologized for the commotion he had made. Ronan promised not to open his mouth because Priest Khan also returned to Thebis right away without making any scenes again.
Priests Elis and Ronan were worried considering that the anti-pyramethians were an extreme group that always did ridiculous experiments. Every time they found someone who had white hair with their mana flows open, they would always force that person to extinguish the eternal flame.
However, hundreds of years of experiments had failed because no one had managed to get close to the eternal flame. No matter how strong their mana power was, they would be burned to ashes before they could get close.
Ronan didn’t want anything to happen to Arielle. He was worried that Priest Khan would force to take Arielle because her mana flow was open and she had white hair. Ronan had to look for this matter properly without making Arielle get closer to the people in Thebis.
"What are you thinking about, Ronan?" asked Arielle who looked up to see her husband deep in thought.
The man’s brows furrowed and when Arielle talked to him, Ronan didn’t respond. His gaze seemed to be staring far ahead, and he didn’t even pay attention to her who was in his arms.
Ronan rubbed his face and hugged his wife tightly.
"It is nothing. You don’t need to worry," he answered simply.
"Um... Ronan, why can’t I have power like Princess Cecillia?" Arielle asked so suddenly.
"We’ll talk about it tomorrow. You need a lot of rest, Sweetheart. Later, let’s talk with Priest Elis or Priest Louise or maybe my father too," Ronan replied while patting Arielle on the back.
Arielle actually wasn’t too sleepy after the incident earlier. Her head was too busy thinking about many things. However, after closing her eyes for a few minutes and being enveloped in Ronan’s warmth, she finally fell asleep and only woke up during the day.
Arielle woke up alone. The bed beside her was already cold, which meant Ronan had left quite a long time ago. She greeted Tania and Aimee who came to her room to prepare everything.
"What about Irene? Has she had lunch yet?" Arielle asked Tania who was combing her hair.
"Yeah, Princess Irene is playing with your bunnies."
"Sasha didn’t come again today?"
Aimee chuckled on the back and shook her head. "It doesn’t seem he will come back soon. He was scolded by William and Kael last night for making the coachman wait so long because he didn’t want to go home. He asked to stay the night, but Lazarus forbade him and they ended up fighting."
Arielle wasn’t too surprised to hear Sasha and Lazarus fighting. It felt even strange if the two held hands and agreed on one thing.
"I hope Lazarus doesn’t scold him too hard," said Arielle, who couldn’t stop worrying about the boy because Sasha was still in the growing phase.
"Oh, Your Highness, just now His Majesty the King said that if you have finished eating, please come to his study to meet Priest Louise as well as Priest Elis."
Arielle nodded. It seemed Ronan wanted to talk about last night. Actually, if there was Otis maybe things would be easier. The man might know a thing or two about this, and that could be their clue to finding the exact location of the eternal flame.
However, now Arielle couldn’t go in and out of Birwick as she pleased. The necklace that Princess Cecillia gave to her was in Maxieno’s hand in exchange for the elixir of immortality to heal Ronan. Arielle wondered why Birwick was still so protected and being kept in another dimension. Was it because Amadea used his last power to protect Birwick?
Arielle also felt guilty for trampling on the snowdrop flowers she encountered before. If she had known in advance that it was a temple for Princess Cecilia, then Arielle would have treated it better and not let Maxieno’s flames burn the garden.
If she had another chance, she wanted to return to Princess Cecillia’s temple and fix everything. Were the two blind mountain trolls also the same trolls that protected Amadea and Princess Cecillia?
"Your Highness... Your Highness...?"
"Eh?" Arielle snapped from her reverie and saw Aimee who was shaking her shoulder gently.
"Are you okay? You have been daydreaming for a long time. I am worried if your breakfast is getting cold."
"Oh, y-yes... I was just thinking about a few things just now."
