Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 647: Arielle And Her Thoughts
"Your Highness... Your Highness...?"
"Eh?" Arielle snapped from her reverie and saw Aimee who was shaking her shoulder gently.
"Are you okay? You have been daydreaming for a long time. I am worried if your breakfast is getting cold."
"Oh, y-yes... I was just thinking about a few things just now."
"Something bothering you?" Aimee asked. She was worried to see Arielle who didn’t seem too focused since the girl woke up earlier.
"A little, but it’s not a big problem. You don’t need to worry," replied Arielle who then ate her breakfast. Tania had returned to accompany Irene, while Aimee would always stay beside Arielle to wait if the girl needed something from her.
After finishing her breakfast at noon, Arielle put on a warm, thick robe to protect her from the extreme cold of the Northendell air. She crossed the palace grounds and saw the gray sky above. It was far different from what Princess Cecillia had described. The warm sun, the fresh green leaves of the trees, and colorful flowers had gone. All of those were gone due to the conflicts in the past.
Arielle was confused where to put herself. Part of her felt that the people of Northendell didn’t deserve this punishment, but she also couldn’t deny that what they had done had gone too far.
Arielle looked at one of the glass walls she passed. After thinking about that, she remembered that she also let her siblings get trapped in the flames at the Nieverdell Palace. She made absolutely no effort to help them. She even let Andrea, her oldest sister, die horribly in front of her when Ronan tore the woman’s body apart.
Princess Cecillia must have endured everything by herself. She was just a seventeen-year-old girl who still didn’t know about the cruelty of the world. She finally met the man she loved on her seventeenth birthday and then her life changed drastically due to the war.
Even though in the memoir, Princess Cecillia said that she had forgiven everything, but Arielle was sure, deep down the girl hated all the people who used her bodies without mercy. Arielle was really mad when she read it last night. Even Ronan had to hug her to calm her down.

Arielle then continued her way to Ronan’s study. There was still no one there. Aimee then asked her permission to return. Seeing that his wife had arrived, Ronan put all his work aside to greet her.
"Have you had breakfast? Sorry I left you alone. I don’t want to disturb your sleep."
"It’s okay. Thanks for doing that." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Come here, I was looking through some old records regarding King Theodre."
Arielle, who was curious, sat down on the couch and saw lots of piles of papers that she didn’t know what it was about.
"Did you find something?" asked Arielle who was confused which way to look first.
Ronan muttered for a moment while looking at some papers in front of him. "I was trying to find information about the second concubine, Princess Leonor. But, I found absolutely no clue. Just a few records regarding the possibility of a rebellion due to King Theodore’s nameless concubine who wanted to steal the position of the queen."
Arielle read the records for a moment and frowned because it was obvious the records referred to Princess Cecillia. However, everything written down in the records was wrong. According to Princess Cecillia’s memoir, from the start she had refused to become the queen even though King Theodore had offered it several times.
But then again, history was written by the victors. If Ronan was a descendant of Queen Alicia, then it was undeniable that history was written according to what the people behind Queen Alicia wanted to write.
Ronan also discovered that the Northendell Kingdom’s first prince was born with brilliant red eyes. They also wrote down that it was the result of the curse of the nameless concubine who was jealous that her attempt to dethrone Queen Alicia failed and she was banished into the forest.
Those were the only historical records they found regarding King Theodore and his wives. After that, it was written how difficult the kings and their successors were to control the curse every full moon night. Even some kings failed to maintain their families and ended up committing suicide, but their bloodline still lasted until Ronan.
Ronan also found nothing in King Theodore’s personal records, which he found in a secret chamber that the kings always used to forget their mind. However, everything written there was only about the joy after he managed to conquer many new territories.
The records ended by saying he was heading to Birwick to pick up someone. After that, nothing else was written. Then, the second King of Northendell, mostly explained about his difficulty in restraining himself on a full moon night. It was the same with some of the next kings. There was nothing special that they could use as a clue.
Arielle was getting tired. For some reason, her legs suddenly felt very sore. Ronan, who was reading the paper in front of him, saw his wife massaging her own calf.
"Are you feeling tired?" he asked Ronan, then put down the papers.
Ronan then asked Arielle to lift her leg. He patted his thigh so that his wife put her feet on his lap. At first Arielle wanted to refuse because it would be rude, but Ronan already brought her feet to his lap.
"Lie down, I’ll check them out myself. I have made an appointment with Priest Elis and Priest Louise in an hour. There is still some time for you to rest."
Arielle was grateful when Ronan put all the cushions behind her back so she could rest comfortably. She took one paper and Ronan quickly snatched it away.
"No, no... you should rest. I know you lack sleep. I can check them all myself."
"But... I want to help..."
Ronan shook his head and pushed Arielle’s shoulder gently so that the girl could lie down comfortably.
"I know, but I will be more helpful if you rest well because later tonight, you will definitely lack sleep," Ronan replied with a wink, making Arielle blush.
