Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 648: Searching for Little Clues
"But... I want to help..."
Ronan shook his head and pushed Arielle’s shoulder gently so that the girl could lie down comfortably.
"I know, but I will be more helpful if you rest well because later tonight, you will definitely lack sleep," Ronan replied with a wink, making Arielle blush.
Arielle was speechless and just followed Ronan’s orders to rest. She looked at the man who was holding a piece of paper in his hand. The bandage on his hand looked new because there was no trace of blood on it. Arielle was glad Ronan had changed it without her having to ask first.
Then, Ronan’s other hand lifted his wife’s skirt and gently massaged her lower legs. He helped Arielle take off her shoes and went back to massaging the girl.
Ronan’s massage really felt comfortable, making Arielle sleepy again. Weird. She didn’t feel sleepy at all before. She just woke up at two in the afternoon, but she already felt this sleepy? That was definitely weird.

Arielle was still sleeping when Priest Elis and Priest Louise came. Ronan hesitated a bit to wake up his wife who was sleeping soundly. He thought Arielle didn’t need to wake up if the girl was still tired. In the last few days, his wife had done a lot of things. A full day’s vacation was probably something that Arielle should do.
Ronan asked the servants to prepare two chairs to put near his desk with an additional message to do everything very slowly. After the two chairs had been prepared, Ronan asked Priest Elis and Priest Louise to join in.
Priest Louise smiled at the sight of the queen sleeping soundly with a pile of papers beside her. The queen must have done a lot. Priest Elis asked his father to sit first and then joined him.
"Greetings, Your Majesty," Priest Elis greeted Ronan before sitting down.
Ronan raised his hand and gestured to the man to sit down right away. No time to be wasted on a formality. He wanted to jump right into the topic of conversation.
"Sorry for making you travel so far to visit the palace, Priest Louise."
"It’s alright, Your Majesty. I’m more worried about your short notice. Has something happened?"
Ronan took Princess Cecillia’s memoir and gave it to Priest Louise and Priest Elis to look at.
"What is this, Your Majesty?" asked Priest Elis who had never seen this book in the royal library.
"My wife got this book from the dragon clan in the Thebis Desert. They said this book is the legacy of Princess Cecillia. She is the Princess of the Birwick Kingdom who has disappeared from the world map. From this book, I got information that the name of King Theodore’s concubine, the first King of Northendell, was Princess Cecillia. The book is a record the dragon clan in Thebis have kept for a long time."
"Princess Cecilia? I’ve never heard of that name."
"Yes, and all the stories about my curse as well as Northendell’s curse are clearly written down in there. And so far, the stories circulating in society are just empty stories that have no basis," Ronan answered.
"May I open it, Your Majesty?" asked Priest Louise.
Ronan nodded in approval.
Priest Louise looked so focused on reading the first few pages. Meanwhile, Priest Elis, who was curious, also drew closer to his father to see it more clearly. Ronan thought it would take quite a long time for the two of them to finish reading the memoir.
"You can read the book later, and I hope it isn’t brought out of the palace. I called you two to ask about a few other things."
Priest Louise closed the memoir and gave it to his son. He would study the memoir tonight. A secret that had been a mystery for centuries would be revealed and the answers their predecessors were looking for were now in their hands.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. What is it you wish to ask?"
Ronan placed both hands on the desk and stared intently at the two priests in front of him.
"I probably didn’t pay much attention to history classes at the academy. Is... is there a name of Princess Leonor or something you’ve heard of?"
"Princess Leonor?" asked Priest Louise who was also thinking hard to remember the name.
The name was quite foreign to his ears. Even though it was foreign, it felt like he had heard it somewhere.
"If I may ask, where did you get the name Princess Leonor from? Maybe something can help me remember it."
"Princess Leonor... according to the record in the memoir written by Princess Cecilia, it says that she was King Theodore’s second concubine and was ready to overthrow Queen Alicia from the position of queen and replace her."
"Oh, is she the concubine referred to in the historical records, Father?" asked Priest Elis to the old man beside him.
Ronan shook his head and explained that the historical records said the nameless concubine had white hair like the description of Princess Cecillia. Priest Louise was still in deep thought. The name Leonor related to King Theodore... he seemed to have an inkling of one thing about Princess Leonor, but it slipped out of his mind and he couldn’t find what he should be looking for.
"Perhaps the two of you can help me look into that. And I might as well visit Grandmother Bertha’s manor to get some information regarding Queen Alicia."
Grandmother Bertha was the sister of his great-grandfather. The oldest royal family who was still alive today. She couldn’t move much anymore and only spent time in bed, away from the crowds of the capital.
Grandmother Bertha was also the third granddaughter of King Theodore, one of the survivors of his great-grandfather’s attack on the full moons at the age of twenty-eight.
Ronan’s great-grandfather killed his first sister and left Grandmother Bertha, his second sister, alive. Because of her trauma in the past, Grandmother Bertha chose to live away from the palace.
Moreover, the news about King Arthur attacking his family had also reached her, so she increasingly didn’t want to return to the palace. Even though numerous invitations had been given, she still didn’t want to come back to the palace or be visited by people from the palace.
