Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 664: The Overprotective Brother
She grabbed a thick, furry black coat to cover her body, which was only wearing a very thin nightgown. Arielle went out of the room. She greeted some of the guards who were doing their job to patrol at night. Because it was already past midnight, not many people were passing by. She easily walked here and there to go to Ronan’s room.
Arielle opened the room without knocking first. She saw Ronan who was still sitting upright in front of the fireplace. The man turned his back and found his wife visiting.
After passing the couch, Arielle saw Irene who had fallen asleep with her head resting on Ronan’s thigh. Arielle covered her mouth so as not to make a sound. Ronan stretched out his hand to touch his wife’s hand, asking her to sit beside him.
Arielle took off her thick coat and draped it on top of Irene’s body. There was already Ronan’s coat covering the young girl’s body, but her feet were still exposed and it would get colder the longer it went on. Arielle added her own fur coat so Irene could rest warmly and more comfortably.
Ronan smiled faintly at seeing Arielle’s silhouette through her thin nightgown. The girl sat down and saw that Ronan and Irene were learning to read letters and numbers like she did before.
"Since when did Irene fall asleep?" Arielle asked in a very low whisper so as not to wake the child.
"Just now, maybe only thirty minutes," Ronan replied in a whisper too.
Arielle sat with her back to the fireplace in front of Ronan so that the man could clearly see the beauty of his wife.
"Are you dressed like this waiting for me?" asked Ronan quietly right in Arielle’s ear.
Arielle lightly tapped Ronan’s lips with her thumb, telling the man not to make any comments because Irene was still there. This actually made Ronan want to tease his wife even more.
Arielle wanted to see everything Irene had written. Because her hair was now short, it made it so easy for her hair to slip from behind her ears. Ronan couldn’t help but touch it. He touched his wife’s white hair and smoothed it by tucking it behind her ear. He also used the chance to touch Arielle’s ear under her sharp gaze.
Ronan then lowered his hand. It trailed along the curve of his wife’s beautiful back and resting on her hips.
"You know, back when we were at the academy, Princess Irene looked really doubtful at first. She wasn’t sure about attending the academy. I even believed that after returning home, Princess Irene might choose to forget about the academy and decide not to join."
"Then, what made her change her mind?" Ronan asked curiously. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
They spoke in very low voices. Arielle looked at Irene’s sleeping face, which was so peaceful and took the pen that was still held by the girl so that the ink wouldn’t stain her hands later.
"She met a teenage boy. Aimee, William, and I don’t know what has happened, but the three of us are very sure that this young boy named Cedric has said something to boost Irene’s confidence about getting into the academy."
"Cedric? Who is that?"
"I don’t know. He is the bespectacled teenage boy that Irene met in the academy."
Ronan thought for a moment. He paid little attention to noble families. The academy was an elite school that only noble families could enter, and Ronan had absolutely no idea whose son Cedric was.
"I hope Irene wants to get into the academy because of her own will, not because she likes a runny teenage boy that she might meet only once."
Arielle glanced at Ronan, who suddenly sounded annoyed.
"You don’t need to worry. I’m sure Irene did this out of her own will. Cedric just pushed her a little to make her more sure about attending the academy," Arielle replied softly so Ronan would stop getting upset.
"Still, if the motivation to enter the academy is just because of a boy, it’s better for her to study at the palace."
"Ronan!" Arielle called with a firm voice.
She stared at Ronan in disbelief. She didn’t think that her husband would say that about her own sister.
"You know, if Irene heard you, she would be very sad," said Arielle, reminding the man that what he had said was too harsh. Even though Ronan said it in a whisper, there was still a possibility that Irene would hear it.
After being scolded by Arielle, Ronan thought again and felt that what his wife said was true. He was too harsh. Although when they had dinner together, Ronan had seen for himself his younger sister’s determination to enter the academy, but now he underestimated Irene just because he heard a teenage boy he did not know was approaching his younger sister.
Ronan rested his head on Arielle’s shoulder and apologized again. Arielle just rubbed the side of the man’s face so he could calm himself.
"They’re just friends, Ronan. Everyone has the right to be friends with anyone. I don’t want Irene to grow up being afraid of men like I used to be."
"I know. I just felt weird when I heard that there was a teenage boy who had become my little sister’s friend even though there were a lot of female students at the academy."
Arielle could understand. Perhaps Ronan was just being overprotective. The man had just met Irene and didn’t have much time to spend time with his little sister. So from that, he was trying to open himself to get closer to Irene.
However, if other teenage boys tried to get close to Irene, Ronan was worried that it would distract his goal from trying to get closer to his little sister.
Arielle turned sideways and whispered, "I remember you said that you want to have lots of daughters. I hope you won’t get too overprotective of them in the future."
