Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 665: Does Son Better Than Daughter?
"I remember you said that you want to have lots of daughters. I hope you won’t get too overprotective of them in the future."
Hearing that, Ronan moved his body. "It’s a different case, Sweetheart. As a father, I also have to be more selective about my daughter’s friends. You know, I’m a man. I know exactly what’s on a man’s mind. They are not completely pure."
"Priest Elis? Priest Elis is a very good person. What if one day your daughter chooses a partner like him?" asked Arielle.
Ronan immediately pouted. "No, no, no. Don’t get me wrong just yet. Priest Elis is indeed a good person. Perhaps of all the people in this palace, that man is the most pure person, but I can’t let my daughter marry someone like that because I know that Priest Elis will prioritize his research over his partner, and I don’t want my daughter to be lacking in attention and affection."
Arielle thought for a moment. "Then, William? He may not be very pure, but he is a good person."
Ronan rolled his eyes. "Never pair our daughters with partners who look like William and Lazarus. They are both terrible examples of men that must be wiped off the face of this earth."
"What about a man like Lord Kael? Lord Kael is not as rebellious as William and Lazarus."
Ronan thought for a moment and shook his head again. "That man was too quiet. I don’t want my children to put more effort into that kind of relationship. He’s very cold, and it’s obvious my daughter will feel lonely."
"How about someone like Brother Archie?"
"Meh, I don’t want my daughter to be used for his own importances. No offense, Sweetheart. But, a man like your brother is the person I want to keep away the most from my daughters."
Arielle didn’t know many men. She tried to say several other names, but it was always rejected by Ronan.
"Then what kind of man do you think is suitable for our daughters?"
Ronan held his chin in thought. His brows furrowed deeply, as he had a hard time coming up with an answer he wanted.
"Maybe the perfect one."
"Perfect? What’s perfect like?" asked Arielle because she couldn’t come up with a single figure of a perfect man.
Ronan thought again because he also didn’t find a suitable figure. "Alright, let’s just have a son. We don’t need to have a daughter because I think I’ll die young at the thought of letting my daughter marry another man."
Arielle chuckled and shook her head. She looked at her husband who looked serious with his answer. Then, she touched her husband’s face.
"Like you?" asked Arielle.
Ronan also shook his head. "I have a trauma, Arielle. I also often get you in trouble. Whereas what I want is for my daughters to be able to enjoy life without anyone bothering them or anything making them feel worried. I want them to smile all the time. I don’t want them to frown, let alone cry. I’m not perfect. That’s why I want a perfect partner for my daughters," Ronan answered, making Arielle smile.
"Ronan, nobody’s perfect. And no one knows about fate. When you reject something so hard, I’m afraid fate will play on your words and give you a surprise in the future. Thus, all we can do is accept whatever it is and learn to accept it."
Ronan nodded. What Arielle had said was all true. He also knew that nothing was perfect in this world.
"Thus, we also have to be more careful with our words. I don’t want you to get karma. When you reject a man, but then you suddenly get a son-in-law who looks like Maxieno, what will you do?"
GASP!
"Arielle!" exclaimed Ronan who couldn’t believe what his wife had said. Arielle just blinked her eyes innocently. She didn’t understand why Ronan gave such an exaggerated response.
"Yeah?"
Ronan held his chest. "I’m getting more and more convinced. We’d better have a son, Sweetheart, and let’s stop talking about this. I could die young just thinking about it," Ronan said, making Arielle unable to hold back her laughter.
To be honest, Arielle also had the same feelings as Ronan. She also hoped that if she had a daughter, she didn’t want her daughter to choose a partner like Maxieno. However, she shouldn’t think like that. Perhaps if Maxieno met his mate soon, the dragon could soften and act more gently towards the others.
Arielle looked back at Irene who was still sleeping. She praised the young girl’s beauty. At first glance, Irene and Ronan didn’t really look alike. They had different shapes of noses and lips. They only had a similarity in their eyes. Irene’s long eyelashes framed her black irises perfectly, and her gaze was like her brother.
Arielle really hoped for the best for the child. She and Ronan had the same hope. They hoped that Irene’s past would disappear without a trace. However, the scars on the girl’s shoulder, the traces of Darui’s coercion to carry out the mating process still remained.
Every time Ronan and Arielle saw the scars, they shared the same heartache. Just imagining a minor like Irene getting those kinds of treatments made them mad, but there was nothing else they could do now. It all already happened.
Arielle only hoped that in the future, there would be no more people who had gone through the same experience as Irene. Arielle smoothed Irene’s hair so it wouldn’t get in her mouth. However, when Arielle smoothed Irene’s hair, the child was squirming in her sleep.
"Ugh..."
Arielle turned to Ronan to ask if she had woken the girl up or not. She then adjusted her fur coat so Irene would feel more comfortable.
"Shuss... sleep again..."
Now, the young girl’s forehead was frowning, and Ronan stroked her hair gently. Then, in the next second, Irene pushed her own body to sit down again. Her eyes were still tightly closed and her mouth was open to utter something.
"Studying... I... must... study..."
