Chapter 71: The King And Miss Kidnapper

"So, Miss Kidnapper... is there anything you wish to do?" asked Ronan.

It startled Arielle and roused her attention away from her sightseeing and admiration of the North’s landscape.

"Me? No-no, I should be the one asking. Is there anything Your Majesty would like to do?" asked Arielle.

"Me? Why me?" the man asked again.

"Didn’t you say that you were in a bad mood earlier? I wanted to cheer you up by taking you for a walk," Arielle replied with a big smile.

Ronan now understood why he was suddenly kidnapped like this. He had to admit, the girl’s efforts were enough to improve his mood. The girl probably didn’t know that just one kiss could make the man’s heart better. But this way was also fun.

"Then... let’s enjoy the day," said the man.

When they arrived at the village, Ronan tied his horse to one of the open horse stables that were deliberately provided for village visitors. He then took Arielle’s hand and beckoned her to come and walk with him.

They passed through the small bustling streets and admired the sights. Arielle tightened her grip on Ronan’s hand when the streets got busier. But then her nose caught a very familiar scent, and it grew closer as they arrived at their destination.

Ronan stopped at a restaurant.

Arielle slowly read the writing on the board above the entrance.

"This place provides food from Nieverdell?" asked Arielle.

"Shall we have lunch here? Would you like it?" asked Ronan.

Arielle nodded enthusiastically, and the two of them entered the restaurant. Ronan pulled out a chair by the glass window for Arielle to sit on. The man adjusted the position of the cloth that covered his face and then put on the hood of his coat so that when eating food, no one could see his face or his eyes.

The sound of a marching caravan made Arielle turn towards the window. The crowd in the street they were passing slowly stepped aside, and from the other direction, the sound of trumpets sounded.

"A festival?" asked Arielle, still glued to the crowd in front of her.

"No, they are just a party of merchants from Thebis. The Thebisians are very fond of parties."

Everyone cheered and clapped as some of them threw confetti. Arielle got closer to the glass window to see five female dancers walking while dancing amid the merchants who carried their luggage.

"Aren’t they cold?" asked Arielle, who was worried to see the women.

The women were really beautiful with their exotic brown skin. On their upper body, they wore small clothes that covered only their chests, and the skirts they wore were also split up to the hips.

Every curve that their stomachs made looked so beautiful, and Arielle couldn’t stop looking. Until the food reached their table, Arielle’s eyes continued to follow the dancers.

"Wow... they are very beautiful," said Arielle.

"They are traveling merchants from Thebis. They will visit all villages around the world to peddle anything they can find. They buy Frostberry jam from here and will sell it again in Nieverdell. In Nieverdell, they buy spices and then sell it to the west, Wolgast Kingdom."

"They don’t settle down?"

"They will only stay for a few months. Usually, they will stop for two to three months before continuing their journey to the next destination," answered Ronan. He pulled Arielle’s body closer slowly, so she could stop staring at the long-gone Thebisian group.

The girl moved her body away from the window and was surprised to see the food that was already in front of her eyes. Ronan, who saw the girl’s entire expression, just smiled.

Ronan told Arielle to taste the Nieverdell signature food in front of her. The girl tucked her hair behind her ear so as not to prevent it from tasting the soup. Ronan noticed the branches around her head and asked.

"Would you like to take that thing off for a bit? I can give you a better crown."

Arielle touched the crown from the tree branch for a moment and shook her head.

"No thanks. The village kids made it for me, I want to keep it well."

Ronan smiled and let Arielle do what the girl wanted. He lowered the little cloth from his face and joined eating the southern food with Arielle.

After they filled their stomachs and finished their meals, the two of them casually walked past several vendors. While strolling leisurely, a place caught Ronan’s attention. He pulled Arielle’s arm to follow him. Now the two of them stopped in front of a hair accessories seller’s stall.

Ronan took a hairpin ornament in the form of a chopstick. Ronan often saw it used by western women. The hairpin was made of gold with a flower-shaped tip with red and white petals reminding Ronan of the girl’s favorite Frostberry.

"Turn around," Ronan ordered.

The man gave the hairpin to the saleswoman and ordered her to attach it to Arielle’s hair. The woman approached Arielle and touched the girl’s white hair.

"You have very beautiful hair, Miss," complimented the saleswoman.

"Thank you," Arielle replied shyly.

The woman tucked Arielle’s hair in a large roll and put a hairpin of Ronan’s choice on Arielle’s hair. Now the girl’s white hair was no longer loose.

Arielle turned, and the man held his breath for a moment. He was a little surprised because Arielle’s face seemed to glow. The hair that always framed her face was now neatly pulled back so that Ronan could see the girl’s face more perfectly.

"You are very beautiful, Miss," praised the merchant woman. She happened to voice out the very same thought that Ronan had in his mind. He just couldn’t find the right words to say.

The man then paid for the hairpin without saying a word. He let out a soft sigh as he cast his gaze towards the skies. The snow was starting to fall again, and Ronan thought it was time to go back. It was a pity that time moved so fast. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

He relished his little abduction.

Before they left, though, Ronan thought they could still head to another place.

"Anything else you’d like to see?" he asked her.

Arielle thought for a moment and then smiled. "Oh, from my room, I can see a river. Can we see it?"

"Sure. You are my kidnapper. I will follow you order."

"Thank you," Arielle replied.
