Chapter 711: The Anti-Paramythians

"If His Majesty wants to know something about the anti-paramythians, then you can ask me. Me and my nephew, Prince Khaled, the fifteenth prince of Thebis, are the activators of the group."

"What a surprising statement, Princess. Remembering that the royal family is the one who protects the legend of the eternal flames," Ronan said, making Princess Zohra smile genuinely.

Even though Princess Zohra looked old because of her wrinkles and white hair, her smile was still very pretty and some men didn’t even care about her age when they saw her smile.

’Al Nasser’s sister is unique,’ thought Ronan.

"Are you in the same group as Priest Khan?" he asked.

"Priest Khan? I don’t know anything about Priest Khan. What’s wrong with that man? Is he also part of the group against the eternal flames?" asked Princess Zohra.

Ronan simply nodded.

"Wow, I really didn’t know about that. I believe Priest Khan is a devout priest of the temple in the palace. I don’t know if he is someone who also opposes the royal family. Even though I saw him praying to the God of Flames quite often. However, it’s normal... for someone to hide his identity so as not to be persecuted by eternal flame worshipers like the royal family."

"But, it seems we shouldn’t talk about Priest Khan first. I’m worried if that man belongs to the extreme group. You know, it’s a group that always sacrifices someone. I heard that there is such a group, and they are currently looking for someone with the power to step into the eternal flames, but it all failed."

Ronan nodded in confirmation. Priest Khan himself had told him so. Thus, he asked Princess Zohra whether the woman belonged to that group or not. He did not want to get involved with an extremist group because usually they tended to use force.

Ronan had also to keep his eyes on his wife because Arielle had the power that might be of use to them. They would definitely force his wife. So far, Arielle’s power was still a secret and only certain people knew about it.

"How about I invite the two of you to visit Thebis in two months? In two months, it will be my birthday celebration. I can invite you and introduce you to my nephew, Prince Khaled. He is the one who desperately wants to destroy the eternal flames. We can discuss it together," said Princess Zohra.

Ronan didn’t answer right away.

"Prince Khaled... I think I saw him at King Wolgast’s coronation." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Yeah, Prince Khaled is currently the royal ambassador. He already knew that he would never become a king, considering that his father didn’t really care about his dedication at all. Besides, his brothers are busy fighting for power. Most of the princes and princesses prefer to find a separate life outside the palace. Even Prince Khaled’s sister, the thirty-seventh princess, has married a commoner, a teacher in the suburbs."

Arielle knew that having many children didn’t help much in taking care of the kingdom’s affairs. Even in Nieverdell, with five concubines and ten children, it felt very crowded. Arielle couldn’t imagine 999 women with dozens of children living in the same palace. It was certain that the majority of them had never even been visited by their father.

Arielle felt sad upon imagining those many children being abandoned without the attention of their father.

"Two more months? I’ll give you my answer after returning later. We have quite a busy schedule and are using the remaining free time to have a vacation later. If I can change my schedule, I will tell you."

Princess Zohra nodded approvingly. She also couldn’t force Ronan, considering she was talking to a king. She knew that the king had numerous things that had to be taken care of. Besides, Northendell always opened the palace once a month for the citizens to complain directly to the king.

It must not be easy to organize so much work like that.

If only... her brother could have a bit of responsibility like this young king before her. Her brother was even much older, but the man had absolutely no idea how to manage the kingdom affairs without the help of people who still cared about Thebis, like Prince Khaled as well as the Members of Parliament.

"Ah, Princess Zohra... have you ever heard of... the dragon clan in the Thebis?" Arielle asked upon remembering Princess Cecillia’s memoir that Otis got from the dragon clan in Thebis.

"Dragon clan? Of course I do! They are a clan worshiped by us! Only the royal family are allowed to meet them... but wait a minute!" Princess Zohra squinted her eyes while looking at Arielle suspiciously.

"Your Majesty, the existence of dragons in Thebis has become a myth and only the core royal family knows of their existence. Even many concubines, as well as princesses and princes, don’t know about that and consider it as a myth. So far, the only ones who have met them are the king, the late queen, me, and the first prince. Prince Khaled also knows about it, but he is not given the opportunity to meet that immortal and holy being at all."

"Ah ... so it’s like that..."

Arielle turned to her husband, and Ronan allowed the girl to talk about whatever she wanted.

"I also have an acquaintance of a dragon... who happens to befriend a dragon from Thebis. The book related to the curse and Leonor was entrusted by the dragon Thebis to me through my friend."

Princess Zohra became even more suspicious and narrowed her eyes sharply at Arielle. Meanwhile, Princess Bertha just found out about dragons. She thought that all this time dragons were just mythical creatures that had long been lost and lurked in the darkness of Birwick Mountain.

Were the rumors about her great-grandson slaying the dragon true? Princess Bertha thought it was just a tale the women who adored Ronan too much had made... If the dragon was real, then it might be true...

"Your Majesty, who exactly are you?" asked Princess Zohra to Arielle.
