Chapter 81: The Mystery Surrounding Arielle

"I saw Arielle’s body glow. And... the snow around her melted to reveal green grass."

"Green grass? Did you see wrong?" asked William. He accepted the free drink as Ronan handed him a glass of whiskey.

"Green grass is not easy to grow in cold fields like this," William continued.

"I don’t benefit at all from lying. And the priest said there was no mana flow in the kid’s body either."

"We must return to the palace immediately to consult Priest Elis on this matter."

"I also think so but not in this condition," said Ronan as he gazed at the unconscious Arielle.

"We also can’t ask Priest Elis to leave the Cathedral," William replied and received a nod of agreement from Ronan.

He paused when he saw the king’s condition and stood up quickly after sipping his second glass of whiskey.

"Clean yourself first. Let me take care of the child and her family," William said, then left the room.

Ronan unbuttoned his shirt one by one when William suddenly opened his bedroom door again.

"Should I let it in? It looks anxious walking back and forth in front of your room..."

A fox rushed in without waiting for the king to give permission. When he saw the animal immediately jump onto his bed, Ronan clicked his tongue in annoyance. Even so, he couldn’t get rid of it anymore because the animal had helped him a lot in finding Arielle.

William chuckled, amused to see Ronan who rubbed his face and looked rather annoyed. He closed the door and immediately looked for Sebastian to prepare warm water for Ronan to clean his body.

Ronan submerged himself in the bathtub filled with warm water. He massaged his neck and rested his head on the edge of the tub. Arielle’s glowing body still haunted him.

That was something that happened very rarely. Could the cold trigger someone to activate their mana stream of light? Ronan couldn’t connect it because they were two different things.

He rubbed his face then touched the scar on his face. He hoped Arielle would forget what she saw earlier when she encountered him in his wolf form. He still wasn’t ready to accept the girl’s rejection of his other side.

"Ah, fuuuuuck..." cursed Ronan in a low voice.

The man rose from the tub as the water trickled down from every inch of his body. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it low enough around his hips. After he dried himself for a while, Ronan put on a looser tunic.

When he went out, he saw Arielle sleeping and it reminded him of the first night the girl arrived at his palace. At that time, he found the girl in a pile of snow and took her to the palace.

The girl’s body continued to lower, and Priest Elis was busy doing other activities. Ronan took the initiative to warm Arielle with his body back then.

He had never been this good before. That was Ronan’s first time sharing such kindness. For some reason, Ronan felt a different kind of attraction. Something that made him do all these things. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

It was possible that if it was someone else, Ronan would have let the girl freeze to death. Even if it was the princess of another kingdom.

Ronan realized that his attraction to Arielle was not just that Arielle was a royal princess. Because if that was the case, Ronan would have had many wives by now.

The man climbed onto his bed, gently lifted Arielle’s head, and rested it back on top of his arm. Ronan wrapped his arms around Arielle’s body and brought the girl to face him.

The little fox then rushed to Arielle’s back and curled up there.

"I will let you this time because you have done a lot," he said. He allowed the fox’s tail to rest on his hands behind Arielle’s head.

Ronan closed his eyes, feeling sleepy. He was very exhausted that day. He spent so much time on resolving a border conflict to the point of having to use his sword on someone. It was not an easy matter at all.

And when he intended to rest by spending time with Arielle, he learned that the girl wandered in the middle of a snowstorm to selflessly help others.

The man tightened his embrace when he felt Arielle’s body slowly become warm. Arielle stretched and leaned closer to Ronan.

"What is it, sweetheart?" asked Ronan, who was worried as Arielle moved restlessly in her sleep.

"Cold..." Arielle whispered so weakly. Her body started to shiver again.

"Shh... I’ll call a priest for a moment."

Ronan rested Arielle’s body on the bed and walked quickly towards the door. Sebastian, who was on guard in front of the king’s room, was surprised that the door was opened so quickly.

"Call the priest in charge of Princess Arielle for me."

Namina, who stood guard beside Sebastian, immediately stepped forward.

"Ah, you. Check Princess Arielle’s condition. Hurry up."

"Very well, Your Majesty."

Namina stepped in and activated the hot trigram in his hand. Namina touched Arielle’s hand, which was limp on her side. First of all, Namina absorbed the body heat that radiated out from the princess’s body.

Namina turned to Arielle’s feet, he took off the socks that Tania put on, then channeled the warmth back into Arielle’s body which made the princess sigh in her sleep.

Ronan touched Arielle’s forehead, whose temperature dropped drastically, then slowly returned to normal when Namina touched the girl’s leg. After he finished using the hot trigram on his hands, Namina put the princess’s socks back on.

"The doctor had told me that maybe tonight, the princess will have a fever, and I was told to keep the princess’s temperature stable in this way. I will return to guard at the front," said Namina.

Ronan nodded and motioned for the boy to leave his room. After the bedroom door was closed from the outside, Ronan leaned closer and embraced Arielle’s body.
