Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 86: Ronan Only Likes To Receive Another Form Of Thank You
Arielle sighed in relief. Although she felt relieved, she still felt sad. She couldn’t help at all at that time. She wished she was more capable.
"What are you thinking now?" asked Ronan curiously, seeing that the girl’s eyebrows were still furrowed.
"Hah... I feel sad that I couldn’t help them properly. I’m just making things harder for you..."
"What are you saying?"
"Remembering the two cold children in front of my eyes and how I couldn’t warm them up, I feel pretty useless. If I could be stronger, if I had brought more people with me, surely they could have been rescued sooner."
"They’re safe, Arielle. In fact, they have returned to their respective homes."
Arielle wiped her tears, which left Ronan surprised.
"Are you crying?" he asked frantically. "What are you crying about?"
Her tears kept falling. Ronan immediately hugged the girl tightly. He was still confused about the thing that made Arielle cry like this.
"When I fell into the slope, I thought I would never be saved. It felt like my body couldn’t move at all... Junia shivered on top of me, and I couldn’t warm her up..."
"Ssh... calm down, sweetheart. You have done your best. Without you, they would not be found. The person who went with you said that you were the first to find them. Help came just in time, thanks to you. You can stop blaming yourself. You are a great person."
Those words still couldn’t make Arielle feel better. She remembered how Mr. Arthur fainted in front of his two children. July, who she dropped on the hill, and Junia, who fell with her.
Suddenly her body ached as she remembered how she rolled down so fast. It all happened in the blink of an eye that Arielle didn’t have a chance to collect herself.
Arielle saw the scratch on the inside of her arm. The wound started to dry up because Tania had smeared the medicinal cream after she cleaned her body.
Ronan followed the girl’s gaze. He took Arielle’s hand and kissed it for a long time.
"This is a testament to your courage. Don’t feel sad. You did the best you could."
Arielle slowly smiled back.
Ronan helped wipe the tears from the girl’s face.
To be honest, he hoped that Arielle wouldn’t do something reckless like yesterday again. Bad things could happen at any time. Ronan really didn’t want that to happen to Arielle. If possible, he wanted to always keep Arielle safe in his arms.
"Thank you," replied Arielle.
"But, Arielle. I hope you can pay more attention to yourself first in the future." Ronan cupped Arielle’s face again to look at him. "I was very worried when I found you unconscious."
"You found me?" asked Arielle, confused. "I didn’t know that."
Arielle thought she was found by the knights who met July from the top of the hill. She really didn’t remember anything.
"I was! I almost went crazy when your maid said you went to the hills during a blizzard."
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty," answered Arielle again gloomily.
"You don’t need to apologize. I’m just worried, sweetheart. Be more careful in the future, you’ve done a brave thing. I can tell you are braver than William. That guy hates blizzards," said Ronan while he tried to make Arielle feel better.
Arielle chuckled softly. "Is that true? William looks like a tough guy."
Ronan’s brows twitched. His lips curled into a small smirk as he spoke of William’s ugliness. "Even though he has spent his entire life in the North, William hates the cold very much. Do you remember when we were at the inn heading here? That man used my room for his own occupancy, I... the king must succumb to the cold for the welfare of his men."
"When I saw you that morning, you weren’t just awake from sleeping in your room?"
Ronan sighed dramatically. The man looked away with a sad face. "How can I fall asleep when William said he’s cold? As the king, I have to put the welfare of my people first, right?"
Arielle watched the man’s expression closely, and she felt Ronan was telling the truth. She gently patted the man’s head and smiled broadly.
"Thank you for being a good king. And thank you for taking care of me so well, Your Majesty," said Arielle, who was truly grateful.
Arielle had never felt so safe like this before. Tania was always behind her, but that simply didn’t make Arielle feel completely at ease. She sometimes still had doubts about her own abilities.
It was different when Arielle was in Ronan’s arms. Arielle felt that she could give herself completely without hesitation. The man would protect her, so there was nothing for Arielle to be afraid of. With just this hug, Arielle felt very safe from anything.
Was this a form of love, as Tania said?
If so, then Arielle really liked this feeling called love. Perhaps her fondness for love was greater than her fondness for Frostberry.
"Arielle," Ronan called hoarsely. "You should have known that I only like to receive another form of thank you."
Arielle’s heart beat faster. Her face turned red again. The girl pulled her body away, but Ronan wrapped his arms around her again. "Er... didn’t I say it already?"
Ronan shook his head solemnly. He slightly tilted his cheek to signal Arielle to kiss him.
Arielle blinked quickly. She held her heart which pounded very fast. She looked at Ronan’s two red irises, who were glancing at her. Ronan returned the gaze. The two of them focused on each other’s eye colors.
When Ronan brought his face closer, Arielle immediately closed her eyes.
For a moment, Ronan admired Arielle’s luscious lips. Then, he kissed them gently.
The response from the girl was still the same as before. Arielle could only keep her mouth shut and allowed Ronan to lead her. Ronan bit Arielle’s lower lip and begged her to allow his tongue to enter.
"Ah..."
Arielle inadvertently sighed as the man removed the distance between their bodies.
