Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 85: Ronan And Arielle
Tania picked up the spoon to feed the princess. Arielle took a bite of food and then chewed it very slowly. The girl finished her food in silence. Tania also didn’t want to disturb Arielle’s silence if the girl was comfortable with it.
Tania wiped Arielle’s lips after she finished her meal. A maid then came in to retrieve the trolley containing the empty plates. After that, another maid brought a basin of warm water. Tania put it on the side of the bed. The woman helped Arielle to sit and stretched her legs down.
Carefully, Tania washed Arielle’s feet to ease the stiff muscles so that the girl could feel refreshed. She hoped Arielle could walk comfortably after a long day lying with frozen feet.
"Tania... thank you, sorry for worrying you," said Arielle, who finally raised her voice after a long silence.
Tania looked up and smiled softly. "This is all I can do for you, Princess."
Tania asked permission to leave the room for a while in order to return the basin.
Arielle looked around and realized she wasn’t in her own room. The girl stretched her legs and got up with the help of the bedpost. Her legs still felt weak to walk, but she was able to stand up straight.
The bedroom door opened. Arielle hoped Tania would hold her to help her walk because her leg muscles still felt very stiff.
"Tania?" called Arielle, then she turned to wait for Tania, who never came back to help her.
Instead, at the door stood a man. Arielle smiled.
"Your Majesty, you have returned from the border?" asked Arielle.
Ronan ignored the girl’s question. He walked quickly to Arielle then wrapped his arms around the girl’s body. Ronan took off his mask and buried his face in the crook of Arielle’s neck.
"What were you thinking, Arielle?" the man asked.
There were many things the man wanted to say. He tightened his arms, even more, to convince himself that Arielle had really woken up. All night he checked the girl’s pulse to make sure that Arielle was still with him.
He had never seen someone unconscious this long. So, seeing Arielle unconscious with an unstable body temperature condition really made the man nervous.
"Hmm?"
Ronan sighed heavily. He let go of his hand to see her face. "You know how worried I was?"
Arielle did not know what to answer. When Ronan hugged her before, Arielle felt very relieved. It felt like she had come home completely.
Her body was soon lifted and Arielle automatically hugged the man’s neck so as not to fall. Ronan carried Arielle back onto the bed and helped her to sit on his lap.
Ronan grabbed the blanket, then wrapped the girl’s body so she wouldn’t get cold.
"I’ve warmed up enough, Your Majesty."
"But what if you feel cold again? You don’t remember last night you said you were cold to the point of shivering? Namina helped warm your body time and again. And I held you all night."
"Oh really?"
"You don’t remember?" asked Ronan, slightly surprised. The man certainly still remembered when Arielle grabbed his shirt and whispered that she was cold. Was the girl just delirious?
Then how about the time in the cave? Ronan was sure that Arielle had woken up from her confusion and said thank you, then the two of them had a chance to look at each other. Arielle also did not remember that? Was it just a delusion?
Arielle furrowed her brows as she tried to remember what happened. She only remembered how she fell on a slope with a girl named Junia. The girl shook her head. Ronan touched Arielle’s forehead, and the girl’s body temperature had returned to normal. No more fever.
"You... really don’t remember anything?" asked Ronan cautiously.
"The last thing I remember is that I fell into the slope," Arielle answered hesitantly, as she attempted to remember something. But it felt like there really wasn’t anything else to remember.
Ronan checked Arielle’s body from head to toes. She didn’t have any serious injuries. Only a few minor scratches she might have gotten when she fell and a few bruises on her upper arm.
"Or maybe, your body felt something after falling?" the man asked. He hoped Arielle would remember how her body produced such a bright light and melted the snow around her.
Once again, the girl shook her head in doubt.
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s body so that the girl leaned against him. Somehow he felt so relieved. For the entire time since yesterday, Ronan was worried and spent much thought on what the girl’s reactions were when she saw him in the form of a wolf.
At least this way, Ronan had more time to think about how to tell Arielle about himself. The man then kissed Arielle’s forehead gently. "We will return to the palace once you are completely healed."
Arielle felt very peaceful now. She rested her head on the man’s shoulder and placed her hand on Ronan’s chest.
"Have you eaten?" asked Ronan in a gentle tone.
"Yes, Tania brought a lot of food earlier."
"Earlier? You’ve been awake since earlier?" he asked in disbelief because no one had told him.
Ronan had just settled the matter with the Wolgast Kingdom. Meeting Petra was almost a complete waste of time because the man liked to joke more than talk about their core issues.
"I have even changed clothes, and Tania has also helped me clean myself."
Ronan looked down and just realized Arielle had changed into a thinner nightgown. The man cleared his throat then averted his gaze from Arielle’s exposed collarbone.
"I can see it," said the man. He lifted the blanket to cover Arielle’s body. Arielle straightened her body slightly.
"Your Majesty, do you know how the conditions of Junia and July are? They’re fine, right? Then what about their father?" asked Arielle frantically.
Ronan cupped Arielle’s face to stop worrying too much.
"They are fine. You don’t have to worry."
