Chapter 90: Arielle Is Worried About Her Missing Rabbit

Ronan seemed to recognize the rabbit. Its size was reminiscent of the rabbit he had lifted from the snow.

"Lucas!" Ronan’s call made Lucas rush after the king.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Your Majesty?"

"He’s the rabbit that fell into the snow when we left, isn’t he? The one who doesn’t want to part with Arielle?"

"That’s right, Your Majesty. It’s the same rabbit," Lucas confirmed.

Ronan let out a long sigh. He put the rabbit back on the ground.

"After you meet Priest Elis, tell Princess Arielle that one of her friends is with me. Ah, and tell her to get it right away in my room."

Lucas nodded in understanding. William smiled broadly as he watched the king slow down so that the little rabbit could follow with every step he took.

The palace guards saluted with firmness as the king passed them. Some of them gave a confused glance at the sight of a rabbit. The little guy looked so serious as it hopped after the king’s every step.

Ronan opened the door to his room and gave the rabbit a chance to enter first. William was permitted to go back and check on his other work.

"Call Kael to meet me at dinner tonight."

"Understood, Your Majesty," William replied with a smile.

Ronan didn’t wait for William to turn around and then just closed the door to his room.

He rested his body on the sofa. The little bunny came along and rested by his shoes. Ronan tried to move his legs to keep the animal from sticking to his body.

The rabbit rolled over, but once it managed to get up, it jumped at Ronan’s feet again. The man became even more uncomfortable because the rabbit thought he was inviting it to play when he wasn’t.

Ronan had been kind enough to give the rabbit a chance to wait for Arielle in his room. He really did not want the furry animal to approach him.

Ronan lifted his legs to put them on the table.

(Ha! You can’t touch my feet anymore) thought the man who saw the little rabbit looking around in confusion.

The rabbit looked up to see Ronan with sparkling eyes. The man did not easily feel pity. He could only be influenced by the twinkle in Arelle’s eyes. So, even for the next hundred years, the twinkle in the eyes of that little animal would never be able to melt his heart.

Ronan took off his mask to meet its eyes.

The king with red irises and a sharp gaze stared down against the little rabbit. This creature with its own red irises didn’t flinch at all, instead, its sparkling gaze seemed to plead with him for affection.

Ronan smiled wryly. Now he was curious at the braveness of this creature.

What if he touched the little furry animal? From Ronan’s experience, he had been rejected by other rabbits. And right now, there was even no Arielle who would treat his wound if the little animal intended to bite him.

The man let out a long sigh. He was now really feeling very curious. So Ronan quickly put the rabbit on his lap. He waited for a few seconds. If the furry animal jumped down, it was a sign of rejection.

Ronan waited a long time, but the little rabbit never got off his lap. Ronan still couldn’t believe it. He waited even longer to make sure that the rabbit really wanted to be on his lap.

Since he felt no resistance, Ronan tried to reach out with his index finger to touch the furry paw of the small creature. His eyebrows shot up when the rabbit replied and placed its other paw on top of his forefinger.

This was a strange phenomenon. In his entire life, this was Ronan’s first skin-to-skin interaction with another animal!

Arielle released all the rabbits into the room. They were all wandering here and there. The princess immediately laid down on her bed without counting the number of rabbits that came back with her.

The girl glanced to the side. Her belongings had been brought into the room. One of them was the painting of the king that she had not had time to finish at Frostmount Village yesterday.

Seeing one of the rabbits struggling to get up on the bed, Arielle got up to help it. The rabbit climbed onto her lap, making Arielle chuckle.

"You missed me so much?" asked Arielle while rubbing the rabbit’s head.

She then looked around and started to feel that one of her rabbits was missing. Arielle, who was panicked, started looking under the bed. Since nothing was there, Arielle was also looking through the furniture.

"What are you doing, Your Highness?" asked Tania, who saw Arielle crouched down to look under the bed.

"The smallest rabbit is not here, Tania," answered Arielle worriedly.

Arielle tried to remember. She was sure she had greeted the five rabbits when she got off the carriage. Usually, they would always follow her. But where was the other one?

"Is it possible for it to be left outside?" asked the girl, who was starting to panic.

Tania opened the bedroom door and looked around the palace hall. Arielle followed out, and no one was there. Seeing Arielle out of the room, the four rabbits also jumped in the direction Arielle went.

Coincidentally, Lucas then arrived. Arielle immediately asked the whereabouts of the smallest rabbit.

"Lucas! Did you see the rabbit that was left in the garden when I came home earlier?"

"Do you mean the smallest rabbit?" Lucas asked to confirm.

"Yes! Yes! That! Do you know where it is now?"

"Ah, the little rabbit went to the Blackthorn palace with His Majesty the King."

"His Majesty the King? With a rabbit?" asked Arielle in utter disbelief.

She became a little worried because what Arielle remembered was that man didn’t like animals and even before, another rabbit bit down one of his fingers. What if later the rabbit made Ronan even more uncomfortable?

Arielle needed to hurry to get the rabbit back.
