Lunar Awakening-Chapter 79: Full House (2)
"What on earth are you doing here?" Leo asked, half pleased to have been saved from a gruesome embarrassment.
Kevin wore a simple shirt and knickers, he dressed too casually to be associated as a billionaire. He gave Leo a priceless smile as he said, "Sorry man, I tried calling you and was afraid you’d have gone back to Hellscape."
Leo paused for a moment before responding. "I did lose my phone recently, however why’d you just show up."
Kevin’s enthusiasm did not deflated one bit he instead let himself in and took in a deep breath. "This place looks and feels the same, you know I am here for something important."
"And that being?" He asked.
After a moments hesitation Kevin handed him an envelope, "After our episode on that fateful day I grew a bit interested in the topic and guess what, there’s a whole world of supernatural out there. Though a majority of them are all rumours, there are some stand alone. I have reason to believe there are more of you, but that’s not the real doozy."
"Doozy?" Leo asked. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Kevin paced around the living room as he spoke. "There’s a document there about George Lüdovic Kriston, he was once a human—"
Leo nodded slowly, "That much has already been established."
"— from 250 years ago." Kevin concluded his earlier point causing Leo’s eyes to perk up. "He was from one of the great clans before he vanished 250 years ago till he turned up on you. The clan he was in was the Stars of Orion, which appears to be one of the top three since then. They specialise in amazing battle art."
Leo tried to take it all in before saying, "This is a bit much, I’m not sure how much it helps me."
Kevin added. "George frequented, Calamity base. The first ever base in Hellscape that was raided and destroyed without any survivors. I’m not sure if it will be of use to you but since the incident the portal gate has since been destroyed. That leaves the only way in to be on the other side."
Leo groaned inwardly as he placed his hand on Kevin’s shoulder and said, "Not to sound abrasive or anything but I don’t really need you getting into all of this because of me. You don’t need to burden yourself with my problem."
To respond Kevin simply smiled and said, "I know."
Leo did not know how to feel about this, "I’ll be going back to Hellscape soon."
Kevin chuckled, "Say no more pal, I’ll keep an eye on your family."
Leo smiled, "I can’t thank you enough." He did not want to admit it at first but feeling someone capable watching his family made him happy. But could he really call Kevin capable?
Another knock sounded on the door again causing Leo to roll his eyes and groan again. This time he managed to suppress a growl from forming.
He walked up to the door and opened it to see Mr Neuman, his daughter and the chief bodyguard assembled together. Leo simply hesitated for a bit before saying. "Heya there, why the sudden intervention?"
Mr Neuman cleared his throat, "I came to thank you for your efforts in securing my erm-- minor inconvenience. Melissa wanted to meet you and thank you personally."
Leo looked over at Mr Neuman first and asked. "What happened to Hinata?" Honestly he did not want to know he simply just wanted to exists outside the memories of that cursed night, but he did want to know if she was neutralised.
Mr Neuman was about to speak when his chief bodyguard spoke. "That is out ot your jurisdiction."
Leo glanced over at him and rolled his eyes. "Shut up for once already. You were not relevant when things mattered." His eyes fell down to the walking stick Mr Neuman held and then at Melissa who still bore a few cuts on her face. "How have you been?"
She ran into his arms and hugged him, "Thank you for saving my sister."
"If it isn’t the aeronautics guru I’ve been trying to meet for months. Swear to god you haven’t read any of my emails." Kevin interrupted. "How do you even know this guy?"
Mr Neuman frowned at the sight of Kevin, "Crap!"
In the background the rest of the household eavesdropped on the conversation.
Leo invited them in for breakfast in which they talked for a bit. Roxy terrorised Leo every chance she got, Kevin tried to reconnect with Cassandra but aside I’d a few mild gestures she did not pay him much mind, Cassandra was perhaps the most reserved of the group and also the first to take her leave.
The next to leave was Kevin who had business to handle.
After they had departed Leo finally spoke up, "Mr Neuman I have a request to make."
The man stopped his meal and looked up at Leo with a soft gaze in his eyes, Leo could see that the man had finally been filled with some sort of closure since the night before.
Leo had wondered why the man was coming to see him the day after the event the night before, it was late in the day with the sun already sleeping down the horizon. This begged the question, why would the rich man want to be near one of his employees rather than safely locked in a hospital?
But Leo was more interested in another matter. "For the reward would if be possible for me to request something else?"
Mr Neuman gave him a slight nod. "Ask away. I’ll let you know if it will be within my power."
Leo could feel the intense gaze of everyone on him, he looked over at Trish who was now seated next to him as he spoke. "I would like for you to enroll my sister into the primax academy, and pay for all the fees as well as supplements."
The room went quiet, Trish’s eyes widened slightly before beads of tears started to form there.
