Mage Legend-Chapter 332: Episode 21 Priest_2
Chapter 332: Episode 21 Priest_2
After quickly leaping over a patch of bushes, Kuboert finally discovered the local residents of the Elf Kingdom. Three elves were being surrounded by more than twenty ghouls, trapped on a small clearing.
Although the three elves were very agile, there were no trees here for them to climb. If they tried to leap outward, they would only fall into a tighter encirclement by the enemy. Without the advantage of distance, the ghouls could attack more easily. Their black claws tore at the elves’ leather armor multiple times. If these monsters managed to create a wound, the foul power would seep into the victim’s body through the ghoul’s filthy claws, swiftly weakening them. The thin swords in the elves’ hands were clearly not very effective against these undead. The pus-filled, green skin seemed to have a gelatinous coat, making it hard to pierce. Even if they managed to wound the undead, they had to be careful of the splattering liquid from the cuts, which also had weakening properties.
The elves’ bodies were relatively thinner compared to other races, making them more susceptible to diseases and poisons. If it were the stout dwarves here, they would have already wielded their massive axes, forcefully cutting a path through. But the elves could only maneuver within the limited space to avoid the attacks.
Kuboert quickly rushed down, raising his Holy Emblem high, loudly chanting the majesty of the Light God. A milky white light rose from his hand, illuminating the surroundings like a beacon. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
The undead animals, bathed in that light, reacted as if doused with strong acid, white smoke rising from their skin with a sizzling sound. They twisted their bodies violently, howling in pain. The Holy Power to drive away the undead was like an unavoidable rain of arrows, also acting as a heavy hammer with strong impact, having a significant effect on these undead.
A few ghouls turned their heads, trying to locate the detestable Priest who emitted this driving force. But to them, there was only a bright, dazzling light ahead. In the dark, the undead could still discern their paths, being creatures of the night; but under the intense daylight, they could see nothing.
The ghouls had no choice but to abandon their prey, turning to flee. The elves wouldn’t miss this opportunity, seizing their openings, and with a slash of their swords, they decapitated two undead. Even decapitated, these monsters, oozing green liquid, would fall and lose the ability to act.
Kuboert invoked the holy name of the Light God, sincerely asking for power. Merely driving away the undead monsters wasn’t Kuboert’s entire intention; he intended to perform a "Mighty Dispersion," to completely annihilate those creatures in one go.
Pate seemed to hear his prayers, and the initially scattered Holy Power transformed into concentrated beams of light, accurately shining on the undead. This strike was more powerful than all the previous strength combined. The attacked ghouls were like soap bubbles, bursting into nothingness when pricked.
Although he felt weak all over, the mighty dispersion consumed too much energy, Kuboert still felt comforted in his heart. Defeating evil and upholding justice had become a significant part of his life’s honor.
The filthy corpses gradually sank into the ground, and they would be entirely obliterated by the waters of Erutalon. Priest Kuboert leaped over the grass trampled by monsters, coming to the side of the elf warriors.
"Your wounds need to be treated immediately, my elven friends," Kuboert said, and he did just as he spoke. His broad palm glowed with a milky white light, swiftly healing the bruised wounds. The disease curse carried by the ghoul’s claws was also thoroughly cleansed.
"Thank you, Priest of the human world." The elf before him spoke the Common Language unfluently, but the gratitude shining in his eyes conveyed his meaning: "May I ask why you have come to the land of Salantir?"
"I am looking for some people," Kuboert replied. "The Light God Pate has commanded me to find a Mage named Lynch."
The elves’ expressions suddenly turned serious; the mention of Lynch’s name caught them by surprise.
Kuboert noticed the change in the elves’ demeanor, thinking he might have misspoken. He quickly added, "Moreover, I have come here to offer my heart power to our elven friends, so that the nations of Mun and Pate may join hands."
