Chapter 367: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter One Diary_2

Mage Lynch followed behind him, along with several others I hadn’t met. Our dwarf houses are too small for them all to come in at once. I used up three towels just to wipe my tears dry. It was quite embarrassing to be seen like this by the mage.

Fortunately, Lynch merely smiled and waited quietly outside the house. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time, and I always felt he was somewhat different, becoming even deeper and surely more powerful than before. He gently patted my shoulder, a common gesture for mages, as these scholarly people never hug others to express their emotions.

I glanced at the people behind the mage, and a fair-skinned girl immediately caught my eye. She looked quite strange, with silver-white hair and white skin that made her resemble a vegetable from afar. However, her purple eyes and black outfit made me nervous. I remembered seeing such a portrait in our treasure warehouse, where a Dark Elf was dressed just like her.

Beside her, the little girl was quite adorable, her fluffy golden hair bouncing around, and her big eyes curiously observing her surroundings, as if everything could capture her attention. According to us dwarves, children with such personalities are our favorites; they have the most active minds and can always spark the most novel ideas.

Yet warrior Deluo maintained his peculiar attire, accompanied by two beautiful human women, which was characteristic of his habits. I recalled how last year he spent all his time trailing behind several female dwarves. Although we dwarves aren’t sure of the human perspective on their females, from what I know, they indeed aren’t unattractive. Even among the elves, they would not be considered lacking in charm. So, seeing Deluo always circling them wasn’t surprising at all.

There was also a halfling with a smile on his face, following behind the mage, yet habitually standing in the shadows. If I wasn’t mistaken, this must be the companion Lynch had told me about, the one he lost track of in the Underworld. I’m thrilled they could reunite, just like me with my little Nimo.

As we greeted them on our way to the Banquet Hall, I finally had the chance to observe my little dwarf Nimo. He had grown taller, which is quite unusual among dwarves. The adventures in the Underdark must have been challenging; it was evident his arms were stronger, with muscles now visibly toned. He seemed more confident than before, animatedly recounting his adventures to me. At that moment, my mind wasn’t very clear, overwhelmed by the joy of our reunion, so I’ve already forgotten much of what he said. In the past, he wouldn’t have delivered such lengthy stories with confidence; he would’ve hidden shyly.

The only downside was that Lynch and Nimo both seemed thinner than when they left, likely due to not adjusting well to life in the Underdark. But that’s understandable; no matter how good the food in the Underworld is, it can’t match our dwarven cuisine. Inviting them to the Banquet Hall was to give them a proper meal. Not long after, even the elder council’s Rhonda arrived, having heard that the mage friends had returned to the city. Recently, they’ve created many good things with the Mithril, allowing many stalled experiments to proceed smoothly. It would indeed be strange if Rhonda didn’t show up under such circumstances.

During the meal, Nimo kept talking, starting to describe events that took place in a place called Ratris City. I hadn’t heard of it before, but the term "Dark Elf" kept reaching my ears repeatedly. My goodness! They had gone to such a dangerous place; it’s a relief they returned safely.

"Your nephew is an impressive dwarf!" Jalin from the Oilwood family told me, "He’s the only dwarf who managed to leave a Dark Elf City safely! It’s truly unbelievable."

Even old Puk was so excited he couldn’t stop grinning, laughing joyfully while listening to the story. His remaining three teeth were visible, making the sight itself quite amusing. He also told me, "If I were 300 years younger, I’d want to go there myself."
