Mage Legend-Chapter 368: Travel and Travel Beyond - One Diary_3
Chapter 368: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter One Diary_3
Although I also laughed happily and clapped vigorously when the story reached its exciting parts, I secretly wished that little Nimo wouldn’t venture into such dangerous places again. I really wanted to tell him: You’ve already seen quite a lot, and you’re getting older. It’s time to settle down here, start a family, and enjoy the traditional life of the Dwarves.
The meal was finished quickly, those beautiful stories became the best seasoning, everyone ate heartily, even the usually restrained Mage rubbed his belly and made a "so full" gesture towards me. But the two girls following the Mage seemed odd. The one with silver hair, named Zilvra, ate very little, only taking small bites of everything. It was only the dish that Lynch brought in front of her that she finished entirely. Could it be our food wasn’t to her taste, and only the Mage knew what she liked? And then there was that innocent and lively little girl, her beautiful big eyes were constantly fixed on the fruits on the table from the moment they were served. These fruits, bought from the surface, completely captivated her attention; her hands never rested, firmly grasping the fruits, even her mouth was never empty, always chewing vigorously. She paid no attention to the other dishes, only attacking those fruits with a fierce focus. Although Lynch said she was impolite and ate carelessly, I thought this little girl was truly adorable.
After the meal, Nimo took out his backpack and began to recount the things he found. Those novel gadgets deeply fascinated everyone at the time, with each person intently watching Nimo operate them one by one, creating incredible effects. Gasps of amazement sounded continuously.
He went to the Underdark, which should be his greatest achievement. I was genuinely happy for his success. But from another perspective, I feared that this success would make him more fond of adventure and dreaded he might leave once again.
The gathering lasted until very late, with even the usually composed Mage getting excited. He used his Spell to depict a scene of the Underdark above the hall, giving us Dwarves a grand spectacle.
Until very late, people kept coming from their homes. The entire Dwarf City was drawn to this impromptu banquet to witness this rare sight. Word of mouth spread quickly, and the large Banquet Hall became crowded, with everyone wanting to see those magical little items firsthand and witness Lynch’s mysterious Magic, an occurrence not easy to come by! Old Rhonda and the Elders helped maintain order, preventing chaos.
Food was continuously served, and even the treasured wines were brought out from the kitchen. What started as a small celebration turned into a festive banquet. Everyone was all smiles, except for me, looking a bit stunned at my purse. The Mage Lynch took out a pouch filled with gemstones. But Old Rhonda wouldn’t let the guests pay, and at his suggestion, all the dwarves agreed to host Lynch and his friends for free. However, I noticed Lynch’s gemstone pouch quietly drifting to Rhonda’s waist, and the Mage signaled me not to mention it.
But, how did Lynch know that I saw this scene? Could he have eyes on his back?
When it became a grand banquet, Soka was the happiest, unwilling to leave the pile of fruits on her plate, even though her belly was starting to bulge a bit. Zilvra was pulling her, refusing to let her eat more. Although Soka’s expression was quite pitiable, I could only resist and not condone the little one eating so much.
Lynch resolved the situation with a sentence: "Take those fruits along and eat them on the road; why do you have to finish them all in one sitting?" Then he took a small bag from Nimo’s collection, magically fitting all the fruits inside without the bag changing shape.
Little Soka received the bag, carefully hung it on a necklace around her neck, which already had a beautiful Ruby. It seemed she treasured these fruits as much as gemstones. At this moment, the highlight of the banquet arrived. The joyous little Soka suddenly flew into the air, white wings unfurling behind her. This little one was performing flips and various flight maneuvers up there, more stunning than those beautiful birds. She quickly flew out of the Banquet Hall, leaving a trail of laughter, disappearing from everyone’s sight. Everyone seemed dumbfounded by this scene—an Angel heard of only in legends appeared before us. After a long while, applause finally broke out.
It was deep into the night before this gathering slowly dispersed, with everyone still immersed in happiness. This celebration could be called classic, with food, stories, novel gadgets, and the final surprise all harmonizing perfectly. I think even after a long time, this experience will feature in everyone’s chats and discussions, becoming a long-lasting topic passed among all.
Little Nimo, after returning home, seemed very tired, but he still insisted on organizing his things first. Judging by this, he indeed has grown up, no longer as careless as before. Before going to sleep, Nimo said to me: "We will leave soon, but this time to the surface, no longer the dangerous Underworld."
Everyone else went to sleep, but I remained awake. Watching the sleeping Nimo, I truly wanted to persuade him to stay. Although the sunlit surface world is not very dangerous and many dwarves have already integrated into the human world, they’ve long adapted to life there. Plus, with Mage Lynch accompanying them, I should be reassured. However, deep down, I kept finding different reasons, hoping to convince little Dwarf not to leave.
But by the next day, I finally understood that little Nimo should continue his own life, as there are endless adventures on his life’s journey. Advising him to stay now would only burden him. I trust that with this group of companions, little Dwarf can be well taken care of.
Nimo said to me, "Uncle, I will definitely be back in a few years at most. I am still someone from this city; I won’t go too far."
It seems he also considered my feelings; this little one has truly grown up.
Let’s not dwell on such a sorrowful thing as parting; the time together still lasts several days. Lynch wants to visit the research warehouse, and little Nimo wants to record some of his inventions. This will take almost ten days. Now, the thought of parting should be set aside, and I should accompany little Nimo well first.
