Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 191: Absurd
Sage felt incredibly comfortable and secure in his embrace, not wanting to get out of bed for even a brief moment. She expected to awaken in the land of the sea of blood, but when her eyes fluttered open, she found her husband next to her and cradling her in his arms. He held her tightly, as though she would disappear if he let go, and she felt incredibly loved.
"You are finally awake." His cold, smooth voice vibrated from his chest, where she had her head on.
"How long have you been awake?" Sage inquired, a smile on her face.
"From the moment you opened your eyes."
"So not long ago. Nice." Sage giggled and pushed him to the side to lie on his back, but he drew her along with him, pulling her to lay on top of him.
She smiled as she looked at his gorgeous face and those cold dark gleaming blue slit eyes staring at her with full intensity, almost as if he was about to devour her whole.
"Good morning." She giggled, revealing her pearly whites. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Good morning." He lifted his head, leaning close to her, and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, making her cheeks burn.
"Cyrus Dragos is being so sweet today." She teased.
"As always, Sage Dragos is adorable." He smirked and switched their positions. Her back on the bed, and him hovering over her. "Do you really believe we are the same person?" He enquired while castrating her with intense curiosity. "How could you think that?"
"Because it is true." Sage replied, holding the tips of his black hair that fell to the side of her face.
"It is absurd. You know nothing." In shock, he hissed and scoffed.
Sage scowled at what he said and pulled his hair firmly, which made him avert his blue-slit eyes from her.
"You are being absurd for thinking I do not know anything," He smirked slyly as she grumbled.
"Are you being serious?" He asked moving his gaze to her.
"What are you trying to do?" Sage raised an eyebrow in response to Cyrus’ sudden question.
He said in his thoughts, "Those emerald eyes are glittering so much it is almost like she is seducing me," and Sage clearly heard him.
"Do you want to seduce me?" He asked with a stern interrogator’s tone, cocked his head to the side, and peered intensely at her.
"I.. I do not, and you know it," She stumbled, her face bright red as she noticed his lips curling into a cunning smile.
"Do you realize that your breathing is alluring, you arrogant parrot? It drives me to the brink of madness." He leaned his face even closer while muttering.
"Even though I can read your thoughts, I still can’t tell if you are teasing me or not." Sage chuckled as she encircled his neck with her arms.
"To me, I haven’t tasted you yet arrogant parrot, and trust me, I can do much more than my normal state did." Sage swallowed forcefully as a wave of flame was sparked by his sensual whisper.
Just as he was about to press his lips against hers, he heard a knock on the door and heaved a deep sigh of frustration. His lips were only an inch away from hers.
"I almost forgot you are queen now." Sage’s eyes widened in surprise as he complained.
All of the events from the previous night were completely lost on her. She forgot about all of her worries and the fact that the mages had actually proclaimed her queen despite the lack of a formal ceremony while she was with Cyrus.
"Don’t worry, a coronation will be held. But you will have to rebuild your kingdom." She slowly nodded as Cyrus spoke calmly to her.
"I will treasure your support," He grinned as she whispered to him.
"Do I have to be polite to everyone else?"
"If you mean nice in the sense of not killing even when provoked? Then yes!" Sage drewled before laughing as she noticed his bright expression had completely vanished.
"CYRUS!" Ashton called out loud from behind the door.
Sage kept looking at Cyrus, who rolled his eyes at Ashton’s call, while biting her lower lip to stifle her approaching laughter.
Her heart was racing as she watched him hover over her in this position without a shirt on, and all she wanted to do was run her fingers over every inch of his flawless body.
Cyrus read her thoughts and chuckled heartily. "If my lips come in contact with yours, I will surely ravage you, but now is not the time my sweet arrogant parrot," he said as he quickly eased away and got out of bed.
Sage pursed her lips, wailed, "Nooooo," and closed her eyes.
...
Cyrus was standing next to Ashton in a lavishly decorated large room with empty silver armours stationed at every square inch of the space and spears made of pure glowing ice. Ashton was looking at Cyrus with curious eyes.
"You don’t have anything to say, do you?" Ashton posed the question as a father chastising his disobedient son.
"If I tell you it wasn’t something I could control, will you believe me?" Cyrus questioned as he fixed a drab look on Ashton, who scowled deeply.
"Are you claiming that you were unaware of the relationship between Aleara’s snowflake and the Ioas flare?" Ashton growled and questioned.
"I was unaware of the soul bond, Ashton, and you are aware that I had no control over what occurred." Cyrus spoke solemnly before averting his eyes.
"And you think you are not reckless?!" Ashton raised his voice in anger.
"I am not," Cyrus gave a loud hiss.
"Do you want to disappoint me?!" Another yell followed by a hard slap to Cyrus’ cheek from Ashton.
Cyrus could have easily avoided the incoming slap of the demon, but he didn’t every time—not because he couldn’t, but rather because he didn’t want to.
He was, in all honesty, a pain in Ashton’s butt when he was growing up because she always had to clean up his messes. Every time Ashton slapped him, it made him realize the mess that all three of his states had created, but this time was different; it was a totally different slap.
Ashton was now staring at Cyrus with a neutral expression, as if he had not just smacked him, as Cyrus sighed and rubbed his reddened cheek.
"You should erase the word "disappointed" and replace it with "loose." Cyrus told him curtly.
