Chapter 130: Perpetrator

"Who are you?"

"Silvia... Silvia I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shatter the bottle, I was just-"

"You are totally not the man I fell in love with," Silvia added and rushed out of the room.

"Silvia!" Davian ran after her, but before he could catch up with her, she was already in her car and she sped off.

"F*ck Davian! F*CK!" he chastised himself, his hands squeezed on his dark coffee brown hair.

He went back into the house and collected his cell phone, he dialed on her number but she didn’t pick up. He tried continuously but she refused to pick up.

’Stupid! What the f*ck was wrong with me?’ he thought. He decided to call Sentencia after some while.

{Hello} her voice came up as she answered.

"Hello, Sentencia...is Silvia over there, at your place? Please tell me the truth," Davian pleaded.

{No, no she isn’t. What happened?}

"I messed up. I messed up and she left because of it," Davian responded.

{Well she isn’t and I don’t think she will go to Olivia’s}

"Okay, bye." Davian ended.

Yes, she wouldn’t go to Olivia’s, then where? Did she go to the Reyes’ mansion perhaps? No, she can’t possibly just go there right after they had a fight.

He continued to call her until she finally picked up.

"Hello...Hello Silvia," Davian uttered, but there was no response.

"Silvia," he continued.

{...}

"Silvia?" he was becoming worried, there was still no response from the other end until a voice finally came up.

{Silvia is currently asleep} the familiar voice said, Oscar’s voice.

"Who is this?" Davian asked, for confirmation.

{It’s I Oscar, Silvia’s at my place. I don’t know what you did to her or if she would want to see you but I will send you my address}

And the call was ended.

Davian was a little taken aback, why Oscar of all people?

He received the text of Oscar’s address soon and he went over to the place immediately. When he got there, it was a penthouse.

The sight of the penthouse just reminded him of the penthouse his mother used to reside in. He didn’t let another person rent it, he just bought his mother’s space in penthouse.

He pushed on the doorbell and it opened soon. The door opened and Oscar came into view, Davian’s view.

"Hey," Oscar managed to say, but Davian just nodded.

"Come in then," he added and opened the door wider for Davian to come in, which he did.

"Where is Silvia?" Davian asked once he was in.

"In a room inside," Oscar responded.

"Just a sec," he stopped Davian when he wanted to proceed inside to see Silvia.

"I will take you there myself but first of all, what happened? What did you do to her to make her cry like that?" Oscar questioned.

"It’s none of your business, can I see my wife now?" Davian replied.

"Look, i get it if you don’t want to tell me. It’s your personal problem, she is your wife but it doesn’t give you any rights to hurt her. You are a lucky man to have Silvia and I really wish I was in your place but I’m not.

"But you have her, don’t let anything make you to lose her. She didn’t tell me anything either, but I know what you are going through, I had lost a parent too," Oscar paused.

"It hurts and it’s hard especially if the person was dear to you. You will think...it will feel like you will never be able to get over it, but don’t let it make you push away the people that still care about you.

"The people that still love you and are still and always there for you. Because you might just lose them too and realize it when it’s already too late." he continued.

Davian really couldn’t believe he was receiving advice from this man.

"You may see her now. This way," Oscar added and started to walk away, leading the way. Davian soon joined him and he was taken to the room where Silvia was.

She was already awake when they got there, tears were still falling from her eyes, even as she locks gaze with a sincerely sorry Davian.

"I will just give you both some privacy," Oscar excused himself.

Davian walked towards Silvia who was sitting on a bed, then he squatted in front of her.

"Why did you come to Oscar’s place of all places?" Davian asked and Silvia glared at him.

Wrong start...

"Okay, I’m sorry. Silvia, I’m so sorry... about earlier. I never meant to do that, I never meant to hurt you. Please, I’m sorry. It won’t repeat itself again, please come back home," he pleaded.

His hand held hers and he brought it upwards to his lips, then he kissed it. "I’m sincerely sorry my princess. I really am,"

"It’s... it’s okay," she finally responded.

"I guess I pushed you too, I’m sorry," she added.

"No don’t apologize, you were right," he replied, as he started to wipe off her tears.

"Wallowing in my pain wouldn’t help, but I didn’t want to share my pain with you. I would never want you to feel the way I’m feeling right now," he continued.

"I just want to be here with you, I want to be there for you no matter the odds. Let me," she replied.

"I will. Losing my mom is one thing, I can’t possibly afford to lose you too," he expressed.

"You won’t. Because I can’t lose you too Davian, I’m sorry for running off like that," she continued to apologize.

"It’s okay. We’re good?" he inquired and she just nodded.

He smiled, "Then please come back home with me,"

She nodded again and she stood up, he stood up as well and she kissed him.

"I love you Davian. Don’t let anything change you, no matter what. You will get pass this, I’m not saying this in the sense that you will forget your mom, she will always be in our hearts.

"But I’m referring to the pain, you will get pass this and I will be just here. You don’t have to feel self guilty, we will catch the perpetrator," Silvia elaborated. She really hopes he will get pass and over this, his pain and self guilt.

Davian just nodded and kissed her back, "I hope so," he said after breaking off the kiss.

"And I love you too Silvia. Very much, never forget that."

They went out of the room, ready to leave.

"Thank you, Oscar. Sorry for the trouble," Silvia told.

"It’s nothing," Oscar responded.

"Thank you," Davian said when Silvia had already walked out.

Oscar nodded at him and Davian soon exited.

...

"Ma’am Silvia, sir Davian... Detective John Parker is here to see you both," Myne announced to Silvia and Davian who were in the living room.

"Okay, let him in," Silvia responded. Detective John, it’s been a while. It must be something important.

"Welcome detective John," Davian welcomed.

"Thank you and hello," John greeted the duo.

"Have a seat please?" Silvia offered.

"No there is no need for that," John replied.

"You both should find time to report to the station," he informed.

"What? Why?" Davian asked.

"Is something wrong?" Silvia asked further.

"Nothing is wrong. It’s just...we have caught the hooded suspect." John revealed.

"..."

They went to the police station immediately.

"We have been interrogating him since he was arrested and brought to the police station but he refused to speak or at least say if he did it with his own motives or if he was hired," detective John told them once they arrived at the police station.

"What?" Davian couldn’t believe what he was hearing. They finally caught the suspect and the scumbag refused to talk.

"Can I see the suspect?" Davian requested.

"It’s against protocols to let the victims see or interrogate the suspects or perpetrators, personally. But...I will let you," John responded and so, he took Davian and Silvia to the interrogating room.

Davian walked inside with detective John, while Silvia chose to just stand outside. She could see them through the glass wall of the interrogating room but she couldn’t hear what they were talking about as it was soundproof.

Davian stared at the suspect who gazed away. It was the same man in the picture.

"Do you perhaps recall to know him now?" John asked but Davian shook his head.

"I don’t know you, so tell me...why?" Davian started, directing it to the suspected man.

"Why did you do it? If you were hired, tell me who hired you," Davian continued but there was no response from the man.

Then Davian suddenly grabbed the man by the collar, "Tell me who hired you?!" John tried to intervene but Davian held unto the man angrily.

"Stop it Davian, that wouldn’t work," John managed to separate the man from Davian.

"We have tortured him but he still refuses to talk. Look here Mr. Steinem, if you don’t tell us who hired you, you will bear all the consequences alone. Including the murder charges on this case, because a life was lost," John informed and the man finally gazed up at them.

"I lost my mother because of you and whosoever that hired you. How much were you even paid? Tsk, you will rot in jail, I swear it," Davian added.

"Leah Rockwell," the man finally confesses.

"?!"
