Chapter 69: Because I’m in love with you!

"Ah, you’re back. You never should have come back, you should have just remained wherever you went," Becca started.

Silvia fists clenched; "Where is my husband-"

"Where is Davian, you mean?" Becca corrected and Davian walked in from upstairs almost immediately.

His eyes widened a little when he saw Silvia, he was surprised to see her but he could swear he was hearing her voice from downstairs and it was truly her.

She adverted her gaze to him, her eyes were beginning to become teary as she fought back her tears. Why was it hurting this much?

"Silvia," he called. "I never expected you to come back today," Davian added.

"Was that why you..." Silvia paused and decided to hear his own side of the story before concluding.

"What is she doing here?" she asked instead and she saw as his eyes went to Becca. His eyes widened a little again, he had forgotten that Becca had spent the night over.

He didn’t even notice her when he was coming downstairs, so she was the one Silvia was exchanging words with.

"Silvia, let me explain it’s not what you think. Becca had to come over yesterday to give me some important files. There was a heavy downpour yesterday and she was already close to the house when it started so she couldn’t go back," he explained.

"She got drenched yesterday and that’s why she’s on my shirt, I can’t possibly give her one of your clothes, I thought you might get mad if you find out. The rain continued till midnight and so she had to stay over," he continued.

"I really don’t see why you’re explaining Davian. She has no reason to feel insecure," Becca responded.

Silvia moved closer to her, "Get out of my house."

She glared at Davian before walking passed him upstairs to her room.

...

Davian walked towards Silvia’s room. She hadn’t come out of her room since morning, not even to have breakfast. It was noon now and he was worried.

He knocked on her door, there was no response. He opened it and walked in since it wasn’t locked. She was right there at her balcony.

"Silvia," he called but she didn’t turn to face him.

"Silvia are you still mad? I already explained to you," he continued. Then she turned to face him.

"Get out," she said.

"I won’t! What else do you want? An apology for allowing her to spend the night here all because it was late and raining. Or don’t you believe me? Why is it so hard for you to?!" he questioned. She moved away from the balcony and closer to him.

"I don’t need anything from you and I really don’t care. It will be your own punishment if you think of cheating on me because you will be going against the contract," she reminded. He moved even closer to her.

"Is that really all?" he asked and she bit her lower lip.

"I don’t really know what you want me to say," she answered.

"To hell with your contract really! I don’t get you at all sometimes," he replied.

"Please get out of my room, Davian. Before...before you make me say something I might regret," she pleaded, her eyes were already starting to well up.

It made his tone to soften up; "I would never cheat on you, Silvia. Contract or no contract, and it’s because I love you. I love you too much to even think of it. It’s like it will kill me if I do."

"Stop talking," she replied.

"Why? Why are you still so mad?" he asked.

"Because I’m in love with you!" she yelled and it was as if time stopped.

Yes...she finally said it out. It was as if something had been lifted off her heavy chest.

"W-What?" he voiced.

"I’m already in love with you. Do you know how I felt when I saw Becca coming from upstairs with your shirt on? Do you know how much self control it took of me not to pounce on her?" she questioned and he just stared at her, unbelievably.

Her tears began to walk down her cheeks, "I love you and I was so afraid to admit to it, to let myself love you, to give you my heart because I was afraid that it might go wrong.

"That I might get hurt...like my mom...that you might cheat on me too... like how my dad did to my mom...I was just too afraid..." she trails off as she chokes on her tears. She sat on the bed and continued to cry.

He sat close to her on the bed and hugged her tightly. He hated how hurt she was right now, he shouldn’t have pushed it. She hugged him tightly, her face buried on his shoulders as she cried to her heart content.

They weren’t just tears of the moment, they were tears of pain that had been bundled up all these years and she couldn’t stop. She felt like the more she cried, the more relieved she felt.

He just let her cry on his shoulder, he didn’t stop her, didn’t try to comfort her.

"I didn’t know that was what you have been feeling this whole time we have been together," he started once her crying and sobbing turned to quiet sniffles.

"I’m sorry," he added.

"It’s not your fault," she mumbled, still buried in his shoulder. Hugging him and inhaling his scent was enough to comfort her.

"You are the first man I have ever loved, Davian. I have never felt this way before. It’s a scary feeling," she expressed and he smiled.

"I know it is at first, it can be very overwhelming," he replied. She stopped hugging him and stared at him.

"I’m sorry," she chuckled embarrassed, she can’t believe how she just let herself go in front of him in a blink of an eye. With him, she felt like she could let her guards and burdens down.

"I soaked your shoulder with my tears," she continues and he smiled again.

"It’s okay." he responded and cupped her cheeks.

"I am not your dad, I would never do anything to hurt you Silvia, I promise," he said and she smiled.

"Let’s go on our honeymoon," she requested and he chuckled. "Let’s go away," she continued.

"Far away. Away from this place for some while," she added.

And he answered her with a kiss. She kissed him back and the last remaining single drop of tear fell down across her cheek.

But...it was a tear of relieve.

Ever since Olivia was a little girl, she’s always imagined this day to be one of the best memories she will ever make. It doesn’t matter what kind of wedding, as long she’s able to say ’I do.’ to the one she loves.

But things really doesn’t always go the way you planned, does it?

She was already at the court waiting in front of the judge, everyone was already at the court except the groom. Was he planning to miss his own wedding? Was he that cruel? Did he hated her now that much?

"Call him!" his father whispered to Colleen with suppressed anger.

"Okay," she nodded and walked out with her phone. She was back soon.

"His line is switched off," she told.

And that was how it was for the next few hours. Everyone thought Leonard Yul would never show up for the wedding but...he eventually came.

He walked into the court without any care in the world that he had kept people waiting even his own bride. He didn’t care if people will talk as there was already a rumor going round that he was being forced to marry Olivia and that’s why it was a rushed marriage.

It was true anyway.

The judge proceeded to commencing the wedding immediately. He didn’t bother to request for an apology from Leo because he didn’t look like he would give the honorable marriage court any.

...Time skips...

"Now the vows, you first Ms. Olivia..." the judge started.

"Miss Olivia Shipman do you take this man as your lovely wedded husband? To live together according to this honorable marriage court’s ordinance in the estate of matrimony? Do you promise to obey him and serve him, love, honor and keep him in sickness and in health and forsaking all others, keeping yourself only unto him, so long as you both shall live?" the judge added.

"Yes, yes I do." Olivia responded.

Then the judge moved over to Leonard;

"Mr Leonard Yul do you take this woman as your lovely wedded wife? To live together according to this honorable marriage court’s ordinance in the estate of matrimony? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others, keeping yourself only unto her, so long as you both shall live?"

"..."

The judge turned from the book of matrimony of the marriage court, to face Leo when he didn’t respond.

"Mr. Leonard do you want me to repeat myself?" the judge asked, he wanted to get this wedding over with. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Leo turned towards him and glared; "I’m not deaf, I heard you loud and clear,"

"Then do you? Or perhaps are you having second thoughts?" the judge questioned.

"?!"
