Chapter 70: I do

There was silence.

The air in the court became tensed. Everyone seated, including the groom’s and bride’s families and friends, were apprehensive of the situation until Leo finally broke the silence.

He sighed; "No, no I don’t."

"Then do you take Ms. Olivia over here as your lovely wedded wife?" the judge repeated.

"I do."

"Okay. Now you both are going to repeat after me, you first Ms. Olivia. Say after me..." the judge proceeded. He started saying the vows and Olivia repeated after him.

"I, Olivia Shipman take you Leonard Yul to wed as my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish and to obey, till death do us apart, according to this honorable marriage court of the country and there to, I pledge you my truth,"

Then the judge moved over to Leonard and Leo hesitatingly repeated after the judge. After that, the judge moved over to the next step.

The ring bearer brought the rings forward and they both wore it on each other. The judge then asked if anyone was against them getting married but no one stood up even though a lot of people were against it.

Even the bride and the groom didn’t want to be married.

"Having said that, I shall proceed to officially wedding you both. Please sign here Mr. Leonard and here Ms. Olivia," the judge instructed and they both signed the necessary places on a marriage document and certificate.

"Okay, with this certificate as a binding and with the power vested in me by this honorable marriage court. I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride," the judge concluded.

Olivia’s heart skipped at that last part, she expected it to happen but she hasn’t completely prepared herself to kiss him again, especially because this time...there wouldn’t be any meaning to the kiss.

But it doesn’t matter.

He leaned over and just gave her lips a light peck. She was relieved that was just all, he too had the same thoughts. He just couldn’t bring himself to kiss her the same way like that night.

The reception was truly celebrated in grand style as discussed.

The groom and the bride were now having their dance. It was at the center of the auditorium and all could see them.

Olivia made sure to look away from his gaze that she could feel was boring holes into her as they danced skillfully, her hand on his shoulder, his on her waist and the other held her other hand.

"How much?" she heard him say. She raised her head to look at him.

"What?" she voiced.

"How much would you need for a divorce?" he asked. How ridiculous? How cheap does he think she is?

"We just got married, how do you expect us to get a divorce?" she pointed out.

"Okay. After the baby is born, we’ll get a divorce and go out separate ways. If asked, it just didn’t work out," he replied and she looked away short of words.

After the reception was over, they sat at the back of Leonard’s car and his driver drove off. Days ago, she was told she had nothing to worry about her belongings.

They had all been taken to a house Leonard said would be where Olivia and him would be staying as married couple.

They soon arrived at the place, Olivia was a little surprised.

"The villa?" she breathed.

He didn’t respond and she looked away. She thought he would take her to a different house not to his favorite villa where they had spent the night at.

They got out of the car and walked inside the building. Her fingers pinched on each other as usual. Was she going to stay in the same room with him?

They were welcomed by the house staffs. The duo soon climbed up the stairs with Olivia trailing behind him and he actually brought her to the room they had made love in.

"What is it?" he asked seeing her hesitant expression.

"Nothing," she replied.

"We have to share a room together and this is my favorite room, the one I always stay in when I’m here," she didn’t know why that brought a blush to her cheeks, it could be his favorite room because of anything, even the view.

"It doesn’t have any deep meaning to it," he added. Then he walked away to the bathroom.

Olivia sat on the bed, her mind kept flashing to that night. She constantly shook her head to get her mind off it but the memory kept coming back.

He soon came out of the bathroom with his towel robe around him, their eyes met briefly before he dashed into the dressing room. After some while, he came out all dryed up and dressed in his sleeping attire.

"You can use the bathroom now if you want to freshen up," he spoke calmly.

"Your things are already well arranged at the dressing room, so you can just go in there to get dressed after freshening up," he added. She nodded at him and stood up to go freshen up.

When she came out with her nightgown, he was already lying on the bed. She walked over and lied down too to sleep even though she knew she wasn’t falling asleep any sooner.

His eyes opened, he wasn’t sleeping.

This wasn’t the wedding night any of them had imagined for themselves.

Silvia stared out through the window by the side she was sitting on, in the private jet. A smile crept to her lips, the view was as breathtaking as always.

She turned towards Davian who shut his eyes and leaned on the seat as he listened to music with his headset.

’Is he sleeping?’ she thought. He looked so peaceful. To her, he was the real view. She smiled again, she could stare at him all day.

They were going to Williwocks.

Williwocks was a little far away from Asteria but it was also a city in Navarro. It was a beautiful city just like Asteria and they both chose to go spend some time there, together...alone.

He opened his eyes slightly and smiled when he saw her staring, a blush appeared on her cheeks as she was just caught right handed in the staring act.

They soon arrived at Williwocks. A car came to pick them up at the airport and they drove off. Silvia and her parents used to visit this city some time ago when she was still a little kid. They had a light house here which was close to the sea.

That’s where she will be staying with Davian throughout the trip. They arrived there and told the driver to give them some privacy so he left the light house.

Silvia smiled as she stood in front of the light house, she let out a breath. She turned towards Davian as he snaked his arm around her waist. Her hands found their way to his neck.

"I made a lot of good memories here when I was a kid. Now I’m going to make more with you," she smiled at him and he returned the smile.

"What do you say we unpack and go into town for a tour?" he suggested and she nodded.

The house was older than her but it was still in good shape as if it was just built because of the various renovations and maintenance that kept the beauty of the light house from fading away.

They picked a particular room together where they both would be sleeping in. Inside the light house was as beautiful as the exterior, it had always been cleaned by the staffs assigned to it but she dismissed all of them before coming.

They unpacked and settled in, then they went back to the car and drove off to town which was Williwocks’ central city where they were.

The place hasn’t lost its beauty at all, it even looked more beautiful. They parked the car and decided to walk around hand in hand. The hot breeze blew on their hairs.

"It’s till so sunny here," Silvia said.

"Yeah and it’s already snowing in Asteria. But I heard it’s already heavily snowing in the mountains and hills regions, it might snow once in a while here," Davian replied.

"Oh I see," she responded.

"Do you want to go hiking the snow mountains and hills with me?" he smiled and she nodded.

"I would love that," she agreed.

They got to a fountain, it was large and at the center of the central city. They stopped in front of it.

"It’s still so breathtaking," Silvia acknowledged.

"It’s a wish fountain," he informed and she laughed.

"Seriously, don’t you see the coins in there?" he responded.

"I know. I once threw a coin into it when I was a kid," she replied.

"Well did what you wish for come true?" he inquired and she started laughing.

"It’s embarrassing..."
