Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 108: You’re Going to Break My Waist (Part 2)
After lunch, everyone continued rehearsing.
In the blink of an eye, it was already four in the afternoon.
Halfway through a piece, Chloe Foster suddenly clutched her stomach and crouched down.
Seraphina Thorne, Claire Clayton, and the others immediately gathered around with concern, "Chloe, what’s wrong?"
Chloe Foster frowned and lifted her face, "It’s just a bit of a stomachache, nothing serious!"
"You’re in so much pain, and you say it’s nothing?" Seraphina supported her arm, "Claire, help me out, we’ll take Chloe to the hospital together."
"I’m really okay, it’s an old problem, going to the hospital won’t help." Chloe Foster pushed away Seraphina’s arm, waving her hand, "There’s medicine in the lining of my bag, I’ll just take one and rest a bit. Seraphina, could you... help... help me get it?"
"Okay."
Seraphina turned, took Chloe Foster’s bag from the coat rack by the wall, placed it on a small table, and unzipped it.
As she unzipped it, a stack of photos was revealed.
Seeing Ethan Sterling in the photos, Seraphina froze.
In the photos, Ethan Sterling was sitting cross-legged on the grass, looking down at the laptop screen on his knees.
Chloe Foster stood behind him, affectionately holding his shoulder, leaning sideways to kiss his face.
Claire Clayton returned with hot water, "Seraphina, did you find the medicine?"
Seraphina let go of the photos, carefully flipped through them, and found the medicine box behind the photos.
"Found it!"
Grabbing the medicine box, she turned and ran back to Chloe Foster.
Chloe Foster took a pill from the medicine box, stuffed it into her mouth, swallowed it hard, and smiled gratefully at everyone.
"Thank you all, I’m really sorry for always causing trouble."
"Not at all." Seraphina supported her arm, "You don’t look well, let me take you back, okay?"
"No need." Chloe Foster straightened up, holding her stomach, "No need, with time so tight, you guys continue rehearsing, I’ll take a taxi back myself."
Seraphina was about to go abroad for a competition, and these days she was busy rehearsing with everyone; indeed, time was tight.
"We’ll accompany you out."
Seraphina and Claire Clayton, one on each side, supported Chloe Foster’s arms and helped her out of the orchestra.
Claire Clayton stopped a taxi and opened the back door.
Seraphina carefully helped Chloe Foster into the back seat, not forgetting to remind her.
"If you feel unwell, give me a call, and I’ll come over right away."
"Okay, thank you both."
Chloe Foster pressed her stomach, bent over, and waved to the two.
The taxi driver started the car, and Chloe Foster leaned back against the seat, glanced at Seraphina in the rearview mirror, and took out her phone to dial Ethan Sterling’s number.
On the phone, Ethan Sterling’s tone was noticeably impatient.
"Chloe, I thought I made myself clear yesterday."
"Ethan, don’t misunderstand, it’s not because of that..." Chloe Foster’s tone was serious, "Today, Adrian Chamberlain came to the orchestra."
"What?" Ethan Sterling’s tone instantly grew tense, "What happened?"
"Adrian Chamberlain seemed to be threatening Seraphina and even mentioned Caleb Thorne’s case, but Seraphina drove him away. I just picked up some documents on the side of the road when I came out with a stomachache, and it seems to list some... supplier names. Do you think it might be useful?"
Hearing that she had information related to Caleb’s case, Ethan Sterling immediately became interested.
"Are you sure these documents were left by Adrian Chamberlain?"
"I’m not sure either, I just saw something about... Zenith Apartments on it..."
"Where are you? I’ll come over right away."
As it concerned Caleb’s case, Ethan Sterling dared not relax.
"I’m almost home. Why don’t you come straight to my place?"
"Okay, see you soon."
Hanging up the phone, Chloe Foster’s lips curled up.
The taxi drove into the Sovereign Villa District, and Chloe Foster went upstairs to her bedroom, changing into a loose, off-shoulder sweater dress.
Looking at the time on her wrist, she picked up her phone to call Seraphina.
"Seraphina, I forgot my bag when I came back just now. If it’s convenient, could you bring it back for me?"
"No problem, I’m about to get off work. I’ll bring it over soon."
"Thank you."
Chloe Foster chuckled as she ended the call.
On the other side of the line.
Seraphina turned and her gaze fell on Chloe Foster’s handbag.
Walking to the side of the coat rack, she picked up Chloe Foster’s forgotten handbag and carried it out of the orchestra.
Sitting in her car, Seraphina hesitated several times.
Ultimately unable to resist her curiosity, she took Chloe Foster’s bag and pulled out the stack of photos.
In the living room, he played the piano while she played the violin.
On a yacht, the two raised a big fish they had caught together.
At the ski resort, Chloe Foster was leaning over, biting into roasted meat he was holding.
...
The entire stack of photos, without exception, featured Chloe Foster and Ethan Sterling.
Of course, none of the photos were overly intimate.
Seraphina reorganized the photos and returned them to Chloe Foster’s bag, shaking her head slightly.
Ethan Sterling and the Foster siblings were as close as family; these were nothing.
She shouldn’t overthink it; she should trust Ethan Sterling.
Placing Chloe Foster’s bag on the passenger seat, Seraphina started the car again.
Meanwhile.
Foster Villa.
Placing her phone on the table, Chloe Foster walked into the study.
She casually found a purchase list online, edited it to appear as Zenith Group’s information, and printed it out, compiling it into a booklet.
When everything was ready, Ethan Sterling’s car was already parked outside the Foster Villa.
Chloe Foster went downstairs to open the door for him, "The information is upstairs in my brother’s study, shall we go up?"
Ethan nodded and followed her to Nathan Foster’s study upstairs.
Chloe Foster took the documents from the desk and handed them to him.
"Here it is, take a look, is it useful?"
Ethan took the documents and carefully leafed through them.
"I need to verify them first to determine their usefulness, but whatever the case, thank you this time."
"No need to be so formal between us." Chloe Foster shot him a smile, "I thought carefully about what you said yesterday. I’ve indeed been too reliant on you and my brother all these years; I’ve been too selfish. Ethan, I’m sorry!"
"Actually..." Seeing her speak like this, Ethan’s tone relaxed, "You don’t need to take that incident too seriously. You’re an excellent girl; you’ll definitely meet the right guy who truly likes you in the future."
Chloe Foster made a playful face, "If he’s half as good as you, I’d be satisfied."
Seeing she truly seemed to have let it go, Ethan also smiled.
"Don’t worry, he’ll surely be better than me."
Chloe Foster smiled and glanced outside the window. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
From here, she could see the neighborhood’s driveway.
Seraphina’s champagne-colored Cullinan was just turning into the Thorne Villa garage.
Knowing Seraphina would soon be over, Chloe Foster smiled.
"I also wish you and Seraphina all the best, may you... grow old together and have children soon."
"Thank you." Ethan gave her a warm smile, "I’ll head back and verify the contents of these documents to see if they’re genuine."
"Alright, I’ll see you out!"
Chloe Foster smiled while escorting him out of the study, and when they reached the stairs, she deliberately missed a step.
Losing her balance, she fell heavily down the stairs, rolling all the way to the landing.
"Chloe!" Ethan was startled, rushing over to support her arm, "Are you okay?"
"My knee... it hurts!"
Chloe Foster frowned, pulling up her skirt.
Seeing the blood on her leg, Ethan, forgetting any sense of propriety, bent down and carried her from the stairs, placing her on the living room sofa.
"Sit here for a moment. I’ll get you a coat and take you to the hospital."
Through the floor-to-ceiling window, he saw Seraphina walking up the steps.
Worried Ethan would see Seraphina, Chloe Foster wrapped her arms around his neck suddenly.
"Ethan, don’t move!"
Fearing she might have injured a bone, Ethan maintained his stance of holding her, not moving.
"What’s wrong?"
Hearing Ethan’s voice, Seraphina stopped and looked up.
Through the living room side’s floor-to-ceiling window, she could clearly see Ethan and Chloe Foster inside.
Chloe Foster sat on the sofa while Ethan bent over her.
Chloe Foster’s arms were wrapped around his neck, with one side of her sweater falling off, exposing much of her shoulder, and Ethan’s face was buried in her neck.
Their posture was intimate and suggestive.
Chloe Foster glanced at Seraphina standing on the steps and gave a coquettish laugh.
"Oh my, Ethan, you’re holding me so tightly, you’re gonna break my waist!"
