Chapter 181 - 181 : In That Case, I Have No Choice But To Ask You To Die!
"It seems that we need to be more careful this time."
Finn thought silently, his expression grim. The energy before him was unlike anything he had encountered before—far more powerful, chaotic, and destructive. It pulsed with a resonance similar to the raw magic found at the outer edges of the Dark Dimension. This wasn't just dangerous energy; it was the kind of force capable of unraveling the fabric of reality itself.
He wasted no time. As the colossal sphere of energy rocketed toward him at blinding speed, Finn raised the Sword of the Emperor of Vishanti. Forged from the mystic core of Kamar-Taj and sanctified by remnants of the Living Tribunal's cosmic authority, the sword radiated an ethereal brilliance. He swung it gently but with precise, lethal intent.
The sword light resembled falling snow—elegant, silent, yet brimming with fatal power. It tore across the sky like a strip of white flame.
There were no unnecessary theatrics, no superfluous motion—only raw force, will, and momentum. The blade cut through the air, releasing shockwaves that bent the laws of space and time around it.
In an instant, the two forces collided.
The sword energy met the demonic sphere head-on. For a moment, it seemed the two would merge, but this was no fusion—it was a brutal standoff. Neither force would yield. The collision created a massive deadlock of magic and demonic energy. The sheer pressure threatened to shatter the dimension they fought in.
Time itself seemed to still.
Cracks of distortion spiderwebbed through the air. The opposing energies resisted each other violently, fluctuating in intensity until they seemed ready to explode at any moment.
Finn seized the moment.
Swinging his sword with explosive force, he roared, "Let this place be reduced to ash!"
His voice echoed like thunder across dimensions. "Today, no matter what, I will see you buried here!"
As the words left his lips, the demon leader surged forward once more, completely ignoring the potential detonation of their clashing energies.
To the demon, obliterating Finn took precedence. A threat like this to the Demon Faction—a power that could rival or exceed Mephisto himself—would cripple any future incursions against the Angelic or Celestial realms.
Because of this, the demon was willing to sacrifice everything, even the entire battleground.
"You talk too much," Finn snapped, irritation sparking in his eyes. "And it's starting to piss me off."
Murderous intent surged around him like a thunderstorm. Finn dashed forward, his velocity shredding the very air. The dimensions around them distorted violently, unable to withstand the sheer impact of his spiritual pressure and mystic energy.
The two combatants clashed again.
This time, Finn held nothing back.
He swung a brutal punch that connected squarely with the demon leader's arm.
PSSHHH!!!
The blow sent the demon leader hurtling backward like a meteor, crashing into the earth with the force of a planetary impact. His body tore through the ground, creating a crater hundreds of meters deep. Chunks of stone and lava were thrown skyward.
The force Finn had released was unimaginable.
Like a Saiyan in peak form or a Sorcerer Supreme unchained, he had unleashed a devastating attack that pierced through all defenses. Blood erupted from the demon's mouth, splattering across the desolate battlefield.
Eyes wide with disbelief, the demon muttered, "How... how is this possible?!"
The surge in Finn's power was unthinkable. Had he been hiding his true strength this entire time? The demon's confidence wavered.
Panic flickered in his scarlet eyes. His previous smug composure had been obliterated by that one crushing blow.
He had underestimated Finn. Terribly.
"What are you thinking?" Finn said coldly. "I told you before—your strength is pathetic. Compared to me, you're nothing."
His voice was devoid of empathy, closer to Dormammu or an enraged Goku in Ultra Instinct than any mortal being.
The demon, now sprawled on the broken battlefield, ignored the insult. He raised his voice instead. "Answer me!" he demanded, a tremor of desperation lacing his words. "Why has your power suddenly soared?!"
He wasn't used to this. From the beginning, he had been confident in his superiority. If Finn had been weaker than him, why waste time talking? The only reason he had played with his food was because he believed he could end things whenever he wished.
But now, everything had changed.
This wasn't the same Finn he had looked down on minutes ago.
From this moment forward, he realized something had gone horribly wrong.
Finn's strength had evolved mid-battle—and the demon couldn't make sense of it.
"You demons really are a simple-minded bunch," Finn replied with a scoff. "Why would I ever tell you anything?"
He didn't bother answering. His form blurred into motion again, and the Sword of the Emperor of Vishanti reformed in his hand.
He prepared to finish it.
But in that same moment, the demon leader made his move.
With a flick of his hand, the massive sphere—the one still locked in a chaotic deadlock with Finn's sword energy—lurched and redirected.
It surged straight toward Finn.
"Since you refuse to talk," the demon snarled, a manic grin on his lips, "I guess I'll just kill you instead!"
The shift was unexpected. The demonic sphere, now weaponized again, hurtled toward Finn with all its previous fury intact.
And in that instant, Finn felt it.
Behind him. An enormous surge of energy.
If he didn't evade now, he would be swallowed by it.
But if he dodged, the demon would escape.
The demon grinned knowingly through his pain. He was gambling on Finn's honor—or his pragmatism.
Time slowed.
Finn made his decision.
He vanished from the trajectory of the sphere just as it exploded in his former position.
It wasn't the end, only a setback. Missing the opportunity to finish the fight didn't mean there wouldn't be another.
The battlefield was still his to control.
And both combatants knew it.
BOOM!!!
The redirected energy sphere detonated with a force akin to a collapsing star. Its scream of power echoed across realms, a vibration so profound that celestial beings across the dimensions felt its tremor.
BANG!!!
The world itself shook. Earth cracked, the sky fractured. For a brief moment, the dimension trembled on the edge of collapse.
