Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 73 : Venom
Chapter 73 - 73 : Venom
West District of Westview Town.
Nestled in the outskirts of Westview Town, the manor in the West District stands as a landmark surrounded by mountains and forests.
This estate, known for its accommodations and hot spring facilities, has become the town's most popular destination. Although housing is provided, many come solely to indulge in the rejuvenating hot springs.
With late autumn and cooler weather, the manor has attracted visitors eager to experience its therapeutic waters. While holiday crowds are expected later, the manor currently enjoys a quieter pace as the holidays have not begun.
The serene ambiance of the manor and its natural surroundings make it an ideal retreat for couples and families. On this day, Finn and Wanda arranged a spontaneous getaway, securing a hot spring room without prior reservations.
Strolling along the promenade that wound through the manor's grounds, Finn glanced over his shoulder at Wanda, who kept her gaze lowered and fiddled with her fingers. Breaking the silence, Finn teased, "Witch, why do I think you're nervous?"
Wanda replied softly, "Who said I'm nervous? I'm obviously looking forward to it... How can I be nervous?"
Not entirely convinced, Finn continued with a playful smirk, "Then are you looking forward to soaking in the hot spring with me, or are you anticipating other activities later?"
Wanda's eyes widened briefly as her nervousness threatened to show before she recovered. With a sudden pinch at Finn's waist, she demanded, "What other things are you talking about? Could it be some weird thing again?!"
"No, I listen to you very much," Finn responded firmly, gently pulling Wanda's hand away.
He added in a mock-serious tone, "I don't believe it. Every time I see that serious expression on your face, nothing good can come of it..."
Wanda's reddish eyes flashed with distrust as she curled the corner of her mouth to reveal a glimpse of her white canine teeth. "Who said that? When we first met, I was always serious and helped you a great deal."
"Witch, don't be ungrateful!" Finn retorted, lightly touching his face as if to check whether his tenderness had fooled him again.
Deep down, he knew that his warm nature and steadfast support for a frustrated witch were exactly why he had chosen this life.
Suddenly, as Finn and Wanda continued their banter, a loud crash interrupted their conversation.
A door in the front room was kicked open, and a shadowy figure pushed it aside. In the blink of an eye, the dark object vanished, retreating back into the room.
"What happened?" Finn demanded, moving in front of Wanda as a protective shield. His brows furrowed in concern as he stepped back a few paces, his posture turning defensive.
With focused intensity, Finn squinted and allowed a faint golden aura to emanate from him.
This glow enabled him to peer through the wall and observe the scene within. After a few tense moments, his expression turned dignified as he murmured, "How is it possible..."
Before he could elaborate, Wanda, sensitive to his mood, peered from behind him and asked, "Finn? What's wrong?"
At that moment, a man emerged from the room. Standing about 1.7 meters tall with a rugged build and a scruffy beard, he appeared rough.
However, the moment his eyes met those outside, he quickly offered a friendly, awkward smile. "Haha, my name is Eddie. The pets at home got a little out of control, and I'm sorry for smashing the door," he explained, his voice tinged with embarrassment as he took a small step backward, as if recoiling from an unseen force.
The unexpected interruption left both Finn and Wanda momentarily silent, their minds racing with questions.
Wanda listened intently, her curiosity piqued despite the earlier disturbance. Unperturbed by the commotion, she inquired in her warm-hearted manner, "What kind of pet is yours? I want to see if it can help you. The power of Scarlet possesses a telepathic ability that can calm the emotions of creatures."
Eddie hesitated, scratching the back of his head in uncertainty. "This......" he stammered, clearly at a loss for words.
Before Wanda could press further, Finn interjected, his tone decisive. "Witch, his pet is probably very dangerous. Let's go to the hot spring; this buddy can handle it on his own."
With that, Finn gently steered Wanda toward the room at the far end of the corridor, waving goodbye to Eddie with a reassuring smile.
Once inside, Finn quickly closed the door behind them.
Inside the room, Finn continued in a low voice, "Actually, I think telepathy can calm most pets."
Wanda trailed behind him and remarked softly, "Witch, we're here to relax, so don't worry about other people's affairs, okay? Also, you have to go on missions almost every now and then. As your boyfriend, I can tell you're nearly 'depressed'."
It was clear that Finn was diverting Wanda's attention. Deep in his thoughts, he harbored a secret concern: the creature in Eddie's possession was no ordinary pet at all.
In truth, it was the symbiote Venom—a being not native to this universe but rather from an alternate reality.
Eddie, the host of Venom, had inadvertently signaled that the very fabric of reality was in flux. More beings from other universes were crossing over, all due to last night's amnesia spell.
Finn's mind raced as he recalled the events of the previous night. According to the original accounts, when Doctor Strange cast his spells, his thoughts were steeped in memories of Peter Parker, the renowned Spider-Man.
Consequently, the spell had drawn in individuals connected with Spider-Man—be they allies or foes.
Figures such as Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, and Sandman might soon emerge, while Finn's thoughts lingered on the implications for Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, and the mysterious figures entwined in their fates.
"Things are a bit messed up..." Finn murmured, a headache forming as he contemplated the chaotic convergence of realities. He warned himself silently: do not let any bizarre characters disturb the balance, especially given Scarlet Witch's vulnerability and the lack of love in her life.
Trying to lighten the mood, Finn added with determination, "If you don't suffer, I will make it up to you today."
Wanda, misinterpreting his grumbling as mere complaint over recent hardships, wrapped her arms around him in a comforting embrace and suggested softly, "Finn, how about we head to the manor later and soak in the hot springs this evening?"
Finn readily agreed, "Well, no problem, listen to you." He noted that the morning weather was too muggy for a relaxing bath, and that the cooler evening would be far more comfortable.
Moreover, he had purchased a special package for their stay, ensuring they would have ample time to enjoy the manor's other facilities.
Having lived in Westview Town for so long without experiencing this particular manor, Finn saw it as a chance to finally appreciate its charm—especially now, accompanied by his girlfriend.
After all, he had often found himself the subject of playful teasing in public.
Later, as the day began to wane, Finn and Wanda decided to make the most of their time at the manor by exploring its picturesque surroundings.
Together, they strolled along a gently curving stone path that led to a tranquil lake, its surface shimmering under the late afternoon sun.
The park was pleasantly quiet, a welcome respite from the usual throngs of visitors during peak seasons.

A few scattered groups of people were seen chatting quietly and enjoying the warm, soothing sunlight, yet the overall atmosphere remained calm and inviting.
During their leisurely walk, Wanda's keen senses, honed by her unique abilities, suddenly picked up on something unusual.
She tilted her head and asked, "Finn, do you think that person just now was a bit strange?" Although initially dismissing the thought, she could not shake the feeling that when she passed by Eddie's room earlier, a peculiar spatial fluctuation had occurred—a ripple that vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
Finn, ever pragmatic, responded with a hint of exasperation, "I don't feel anything, but it seems you have been under too much pressure recently, which might be why you're seeing things."
Taken aback, Wanda retorted, "This is the witch's sixth sense, and you are not a witch, so you won't know this feeling." Despite the teasing, there was an underlying concern in her tone.
She acknowledged that while many unusual events had taken place recently, her unique instincts had never failed her.
Still, the fleeting presence of that dark, viscous figure—something that appeared more like liquid and less like a conventional living creature—troubled her.
Finn, determined to deflect her worries, tightened his arms around her waist and murmured, "Really, but I know all about witches. How do you know that I don't know your heart?" Wanda blushed deeply and, glancing around to ensure no one else overheard, chided him softly, "Go away, don't say such things outside..."
Realizing the importance of maintaining their focus on relaxation, Finn quietly added, "Then don't mention Eddie anymore; we are here to relax today." With that, he pulled her along and suggested, "Come on, let's go fishing in the lake." Although fishing was a popular activity at the manor, visitors were not allowed to take the fish—a rule set to preserve the natural balance in the serene waters.
Unbeknownst to the couple, as they departed towards the lake, a solitary figure lurked beneath the dense canopy of a distant forest.
Emerging slowly from behind a towering tree, the figure watched intently, his eyes filled with a mixture of haze and simmering anger.
The silent observer's presence sent an ominous chill through the quiet park, a stark contrast to the couple's carefree demeanor.
For the onlooker was none other than Mysterio—Quentin Beck—whom many believed had met his demise on London Bridge.
His voice, low and bitter with discontent, muttered, "Damn it, why did the Scarlet Witch come to this universe..." His tone was heavy with the weight of past failures and lingering grudges, as if he could sense the coldness in his long-time adversary's gaze.
Resolute in his purpose, he added with grim determination, "However, it's okay, I'll go back and find you!"
