Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 273: You’ll Come Back For Me, Right?
[RANIA]
"How did it go?" Dalrae asked Rani when she came for the dungeons.
She looked calm, so calm it was actually worrying. It wasn’t easy to tell how this was supposed to work but goddamn, this wasn’t how she had expected that to go. But there was also another assumption.
Kim Rania had already made her decisions and what she would be doing.
But what was that?
"Well. Let’s get on with the preparation. I’m excited for my birthday for the first time in eight years," Rania said and their friends looked at her like something was off. But just as earlier, they resorted to staying silent about it.
And so for the rest of the day, they prepared for the grand ceremony, the one that would change the direction of a lot of things.
This was the decision that could either make or break the realm, but the worried friends had a feeling that the whole realm would never recover from this particular birthday. But what else were they to do anyway?
"Are you okay, little wolf?" Kaia asked Rania when they were on a break. He had seen how worried she was over time and she seemed to have a lot on her mind.
"Yes. But I need a favor, Kai. I don’t know if this will work for you, given what we had agreed on, but—" Rania began and Kaia looked at her like he had a feeling this wasn’t what he was expecting. But then what else was there, right?
They’d be rolled into this and if there was chaos coming, they could as well come and make it happen, no?
"Whatever it is, just let me know. I told you, I wouldn’t change anything. We will finish with your mission and then Chang Wook’s and then we get to me. I am a patient man, a little wolf. So what is it?" Kaia said and Rania let out a sigh.
Of course, she knew what his answer would be but she was still guilty for all of this. Maybe she would get over it soon, right?
"I want to bring them to Incayon. It will be easier to monitor them here, plus that will guarantee Incayon safety no matter what happens," Rania said and I looked at her skeptically.
What she was asking was insane and could easily be the worst of ideas that any of them would ever have suggested. He could have taken anything over what she was saying. It was an insane idea.
That shit would have them at the center of everything but weren’t they already in that position anyway?
"That’s the craziest thing you have suggested for the moment I met you, Rani. Are you really sure you want that? You do know that the consequences would be sure. It will be like bringing war to Incayon again.
"I thought you wanted war away from Incayon?" Kaia asked and Rania just sighed.
She knew it was dangerous, she knew what the repercussions of this were. She knew that it would be harder trying to make it all make sense, but then she also knew that she had to do it. It was the only way.
"I know, Kai. It is easier having one place to defend instead of having teams scattered around. Think of how that will affect our efficiency. Besides, with them here, we can make them do whatever.
"We can strike deals for Incayon, we can even trade them. And Kai,... Yanna is with them too. Wouldn’t you want to see her too?" Rani asked, adding the last bit slowly.
She was aware of what that meant for him and she knew that it would be the worst of them all. But then this was a decision they needed to make.
There was no telling what would happen on Rania’s birthday and they ended up being sure everything was done and dusted before then.
They needed to make sure that there wasn’t a thing that would challenge them given they still had fifteen other packs that could create an uprising and come for them. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
If the fifteen remaining Obren packs united, then Rania and her team would end all the support they could ever gather. Incayon was big and could accommodate most.
If it was about the rogues, Paloma didn’t have to worry about her people, because whoever tried to go fuck Altunia up, would have the vampires and the rogues wrong to give them a dose of what shit fuckery looked like.
This was a challenge, one they had to face and accept no matter what happened. There was just no way around this and that much was obvious.
"We don’t talk about her, unless we are talking about your vengeance, remember," Kaia said and Rania just sighed. This was going to be hard, but then they already knew that when they decided to join the band of crazies.
It was just a matter of time anyway, before things went sideways for them or they got back, of course. That Was their hope, but until then, maybe Kaia was right, but then this was something Rania had to do.
"I know. I just was letting you know she is with them. Besides, we need to get them close before the other packs go and overpower Raqeeb. Think about it, Kai," Ranai said and Kai was slowly crossing over.
The bastard of bastards knew that she had a point, but the fact that’s always coming with them was something else. He wasn’t ready for that, not just yet. But then he himself had said that they were doing this for Rania’s vengeance.
There was no reason for them to get emotional right?
"Alright. I’ll go get them on my own. You and the rest need to make preparations for the party. You must be happy this birthday, butterfly, and I will make all your wishes come true, always," Kaia said as he pulled Rania into a hug before he kissed her on the cheeks.
It was almost like a reassurance they both needed.
Maybe they would get better, but with the crazies coming along, Incayon would be the busiest they had ever seen.
That much was guaranteed anyway.
"Be careful, Kai. Don’t let her get to you. Or all of this will be for nothing. You know that right?" Rania said to her friend and the man she had chosen to be her partner.
There was just no logic to explain how she could have gone for Kaia of all the mad creatures in the world, but maybe, just maybe there was a way they could make this work.
Maybe life isn’t just going to be so bad for them as they had been used to, right?
Maybe there was going to be a way out of this.
"I won’t. Besides what she doesn’t know won’t kill her. We need her for the next phase. I won’t screw up, I swear it," Kaia promised but Rania could feel the hesitation.
She knew this was to be expected, but then she was counting on his willpower because without that they were pretty much fucked. It was so dangerous and yet at the same time, it was the easiest they could do.
"Hiro wait," Han suddenly said to his brother who was getting ready to portal to Obren. He knew what Rani was talking about and he knew how dangerous things would get.
"What is it, Haru?"
"You’ll come back for me, right?"
