Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 272: Was This The Last Goodbye? [2]
[RANIA]
’Shit,’ Rania said to herself as she took in the sight before her. The dim lighting in the hallways wasn’t even doing them any justice.
Jihoon and Daehyun in the dungeons looked like people who had been to war and had been hurt one too many times to even face their truths. They looked like they had been surviving on nothing for the past three months.
They had grown thin and looked so frail. The dungeon walls were filled with blood splatters, probably from their fights, as the stench of blood filled the dungeon. They looked battered and bruised, worse than when Rania had sent them here.
She had never imagined she would ever see the way the friends would be having bruises from each other and for a moment, Rania wondered if the same would ever happen to her and her friends if ever they had been cornered.
Rania felt her heart break for the loyal beta, one who had just been collateral damage for the sins of his best friend. But then that didn’t matter right now. She was here not to save them, but to make her statement known.
She knew that this wasn’t right for her to be here but what else could she do?
Tomorrow would be her birthday and her twenty-fifth at that.
"The little bitch finally made a show. How’s life out there you little piece of fucking shit?" Jihoon spoke, and Rania was momentarily then back, but she didn’t falter.
She hadn’t expected this, but then it wasn’t like she had had other expectations from the man who had caused her so much pain. How could he be the one mad at her when he had been the engineer of all her pain?
She had gone through worse shit than he had in the last three months. At least he had a sane mind, but what had been the price for that? Well, Kim Rania didn’t want to know this time.
"The murderer is here. Maybe we should crown her the queen of bitch-fuckery," a tired Daehyun said as he looked at the Luna he had once respected and loved.
Rania could see the tired bags under their eyes and their hair was shaggy. They looked like little shit, and maybe it was probably because they had eaten and talent their shit in the same place.
Oh, but Han had been cruel with these two. It was almost like he had never been on Jihoon’s side, ever. But then there were just some thighs that couldn’t be forgiven and there was also just a limit to what anyone could take.
Han had gotten tired of seeing Rania in pain and decided to introduce Jihoon to the slightest bit of it, and here they were looking like little fucks. The stench was nestling and Rania had to cover her nose to try and stop inhaling the stench.
But then as it was, she was an alpha with heightened senses.
"She murdered my father. If I get out of here, I’ll wring that pretty neck and make marshmallows from it," Jihoon said, like he didn’t even see Rania and that should have hurt, but then Rania was used to pain, so this wasn’t new to her.
"Are you done whining about your conditions and threatening me? Because I have good news for you. With your attitude I might as well go back with it... on second thought, I have both good and bad news.
"Whichever you want to know first, you can let me know. But now you have a minute," Rania said, her voice so cold that she was shocked. It had been a while since she had been this cold.
Most of the time she had been empathetic in her decisions, but today it seemed like she had gotten the final straw.
Or maybe it was because of the stench that was hitting her nose so hard you would think that she lived in a sewer, but maybe it was also because they had started playing games and she wasn’t in the least bit interested in them.
"What good news could you ever have? Fine, get on with it, oh your great highness," Jihoon mocked and Rania let out a dark chuckle in warning.
There was only so much disrespect she could take for the two anyway.
However, a part of was slowly gnawing at her, telling her that they were doing this to intentionally get her to pull always but was that really it or were the two ust being nuisances to her?
"Fine, have it your way. Your father is dead, the place has been burnt and deserted for three months now. Your mother and the remaining Chandra wolves were meant to go to the palace, but...
"Anyway, onto the better news, tomorrow is my twenty-fifth birthday. So I will be celebrating it. If you want to come, you can confirm your attendance to the guard who will come check on you this evening.
"Otherwise, that is all. Have a good time wallowing in your shit," Rania said before she began walking out of the dungeons, she knew that what she had said would fuck with their minds.
They cared about the Calindra wolves.
They were scared and wanted their family safe. The women and children were weak on their own and even with Luna Park leading them, it was just a matter of time before they suffered other hits.
It took a lot of time to train anyone to be a warrior and three months was never going to be enough. It just wasn’t ever going to be.
However, Rania wasn’t worried that she didn’t care, really, because whatever they did, if they came at her, she would subject them to a fate fit for a warrior on the battlefield.
No mercy.
If anything, mercy did make people weak and she was past that phase herself anyway.
"What the fuck do you mean by my mother and the wolves?? Yaaa!!!!" Jihoon asked, the realization drawing on him when he noticed the smirk on Rania’s face.
That wasn’t a good sign and the fact that she had come down here to deliberately tell him that, meant something.
Kim Rania had so many people to do the messenger work for her but this was one she had come to deliver on her own. Could it be that she had murdered the Calindra wolves too? Did her men take out the women and children?
Did her heart really change that fast? Oh, but Jihoon was even more. He shouted in the dungeons, asking Rania for a beer explanation. He wanted answers, but even he knew that the woman would be giving him any.
She had come to throw that at his face and that was the cruelest thing they could have done. And she also mentioned that tomorrow is her birthday, which means that it was their last day and the final warning from the fates to get mates.
What the fuck was Kim Rania planning?
Daehyun, who had been with his best friends in the dungeon, looked straight ahead. The woman he had defended and cared for had changed so much.
Maybe because Oshita had died, or maybe because Odelia was nowhere to be seen, or maybe because Jungwoo had been the one to take out Oshita. There was no telling, but one thing was certain.
They were all shades of fucked this time.
