Chapter 336: If You Go Low, I Go Lower [4]

[RANIA]

"Oh Rani," Paloma said when they realized she had played one of the cruel games with Yanna’s life.

"Good job!" Han Seong said, before he pulled Rania into a hug, while his brother released the queen and the vampire King from their slow deaths.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief as they took in the sight before them. There was finally some hope of them being alive after this, but was that enough guarantee?

Funny how they were strong and yet when it came to Rania, they were as helpless as anyone could get with her. She was powerful and loved everything she did, even if she was pulling their legs.

"Is she my daughter?" Queen Eunbi asked, this time, her question was directed to Paloma.

The whole friend group was here and since she didn’t know whether she had a daughter with Nathaniel, there was only one person who could tell her whether it was true or false.

It wasn’t going to be an easy truth, but it was a truth nonetheless and she needed to hear it, at least from one of her best friends. Surely their friendship still meant something to Paloma right?

Granted they had been apart over the years but then it wasn’t like they could control the outcome of their fates, when they didn’t even know what their fates would look like in the first place. It was not daily that they got to this point with each other.

"What?" Paloma asked and this time, a very tired King Nathaniel looked at Paloma who had admitted to tampering with the bond.

She knew there would have to come a day when the truth was bare, and it seemed like here and now, in this war that was killing their warriors, this was the time for them to start considering their truths.

"Eunbi-a," Paloma started but the queen looked at her hopefully.

"Please tell me, Paloma. You’re the only link to the truth that I have. I don’t remember having a child with Nate, I don’t even know if we... Please tell me, did I forget that I had a child with Nate?

"Is that even possible?" the werewolf queen said and Rania just let out a snort once again.

She was cruelly seated on Kaia’s lap because Kaia Seto didn’t trust Rania to keep her cool when it came to some issues. He also doesn’t want her to be hurting herself just to prove a point to the bunch of people who didn’t mean shit to her.

She deserves better and she would get it.

Right now Kaisei Seto was protecting her from herself, much to the relief of the misfits.

"Yes. Yanna is yours and Nate’s daughter," Paloma confirmed as the vampire King let out a sigh of relief while the werewolf King and queen stared at her in shock like this was impossible. It was impossible to forget a child, and a birth.

Pregnancies were hard to hide, especially for a queen who always had heavy kids, so this just didn’t make any sense to them.

"How could I forget a pregnancy?" Queen Eunbi asked, just as the werewolf King spoke.

"So you both really did go behind my back even after knowing that we were mates? Wow, Nate. So much for best friends, huh? Is that why you killed my Junghwa?" Seojoon asked and this time, Jungwoo, and everyone else were staring in shock.

There was just no explanation for what they were seeing or hearing having the royals reveal their dirty secrets like this was something else.

None of them had even thought that there would come a day when they listened to the dirtiest of the royal secrets. It actually felt illegal to be her listening to all this shit, and even Rania was shocked at that truth.

"I did no such thing," the vampire King said and Rania just smirked, enjoying the chaos that was taking place.

The war had been going on outside the barrier for more than six hours now, and over five thousand revolutionary warriors had fallen by the swords. Those that hadn’t fallen were pretty much on their way there thanks to the lethal hybrid bites.

The vampires had long been wiped out by the hybrids even before the end of the second hour. It had been a lost battle long ago. The less than three thousand revolutionaries who had still been standing were scared shitless of their fate.

They had noticed that none of the people from the Incayon team had fallen. None even the rogues and the hybrids, not to mention the regular warriors. All of the Incayon team was alive and kicking their asses without so much energy. This was terrible.

"I forgot I had a child? How is that possible?" Eunbi asked about the headache of losing two children, making her feel like her world was coming apart.

According to Luna Kim, her Junghwa was alive and well. Her daughter was somewhere in the realm, and alive, yet no one knew who she was. Perhaps that was the worst thing that could have happened to the werewolf queen.

Maybe Luna Kim was right.

She had so much power and yet even then she hadn’t been able to love and protect any of her children. She was a hell of motherhood and that in itself made the queen feel like her life wasn’t worth living anymore.

"It’s simple really. Benita, the cruel witch who had cursed Nate, made sure that no one knew about it. She had hidden your pregnancy for months, and even though you were always with Seojoon, you both had no clue that you were pregnant.

"So when the time came for you to have the baby, Benita took her because she hated what you and Nate had done to Seojoon. She considered your betrayal the worst in the history of all friendships.

"Adding that to the hate she had for Nate, and his unending desire to be a good bet to Seojoon, she took her. And then she wiped all memory of the child from everyone’s mind. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Of course, she tried that on me, but I was her daughter, so her spell didn’t work on me, even though she never quite liked me. She could have swiped my memory, but I guess she figured that I needed to surfer with the truth yoo. So yeah.

"She gave the child to a human on the other side of the realm and well, your child couldn’t be tamed, because she was too powerful, so Benita cast her in Calindra and took care of her till she died.

"Funny how fate works. The girl we all broke was the one who brought your family together, huh?" Paloma said and Eunbi felt like she was being suffocated. This was worse than a trial by fire.

This was hell and goodness she was experiencing the worst of it.

She had loved her best friend? Even had a kid with him? And she had no clue of what that meant or even the love they had?

Benita had to be a really cruel person for that to happen, or maybe she was sick of the betrayal too.

"Well, who said the Lunar trial was the worst in the history of all wives should have seen this betrayal coming. A queen who couldn’t keep it in her pants and a King who was played by his best friend who was also a King.

"Damn, Eunbi-a, you must have some nice coochie for men to leave their Kingdoms for y—" Rania said and Dalrae slammed her hand on her sister’s filter-less mouth.
