Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 342: Betrayal Had A Costly Price
[RANIA]
"Go. I’ll be fine here and I hope that someday, even if it’s a thousand years from now. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me, uncle," Yanna said defeatedly as her head slumped. She was tired and felt like everything needed to stop for her to have a breather.
However, even right now, she knew that she didn’t deserve any mercy or pity. Maybe it would have been better if Rania took her as her eternal prisoner. It was way better for Yanna than having to face her parents after all the damage she had caused.
Yanna had rippled through their relationships like they had been that easy to form. She had broken their trust and shattered their hopes of normalcy without even trying so hard.
There were just things that she would never be able to understand or even let herself understand. The only thing she knew was that they were all better off without her.
"Oh, great, we have another saintly act. Which one are you planning to pull next? Especially now that we know you can’t die?" Rania mocked and Kaia let her.
He knew she was in pain.
He knew she wasn’t okay with the stench of burning bodies out there. She wasn’t happy that the Incayon skies would stay darker for a long time because of the bodies she was never going to give back.
kaia Seto would burn them all that just didn’t make her feel any better.
Coming into her vengeance, Rania knew there were lines she would have to cross. Lines that would blur themselves the moment she went in, and she hoped that he would be able to handle them well.
However, seeing her sister distraught to the point of leaving made Rania wonder if she had gone overboard. It made her wonder if this was what Dalrae had envisioned when they talked about revenge.
It made her wonder whether her sister would ever look at her the same way. Rania was a lot of things, but before that, she had always made sure to be the older sister Lim Dalrae would always look up to.
She loved that girl with all she had and didn’t have and now as she stood here, watching as the chaos unfolded, Rania couldn’t help but feel like she had disappointed her sister. She should have been better, but what was that even like?
What was her definition of better when her heart was always in shambles despite having a mate who really wanted her this time, and a mate who would always protect her?
What was the security for, when she was constantly hallucinating fear in Dalrae’s eyes?
Would it ever be worth it? Oh, Rania.
"This is between me and you, Rani. Let him leave. Besides, didn’t you give them all a chance to do so? It’s not like you are wine to go back on your word.
"Let them leave and then we can continue whatever is to be continued between the both of us, yeah?" Yanna breathed out heavily and Rania just sighed.
Of course, she was angry.
Kim Rania still wanted to make them all pay, but then again, she wasn’t a delusional killer. She had her reasons and right now, she couldn’t deny that she didn’t have a reason to go after BaiTing.
"Fine, those who are leaving, stand on my right," Rania said and she watched as all the pack leaders, Bai Ting, and even a stressed-out Brent got up. Everyone did, save for the prisoners with noses on their neck, Luna Park, and King Nathaniel.
For the vampire King, it wasn’t even surprising because he was a man who had sought out his daughter from the moment he learned of her existence ten months ago. He wasn’t going to just abandon her like that.
Luna Park was also in the same boat with her son and his best friend hanging on the noose. She wasn’t sure what was waiting for her, but she was more than ready to trade her life for her son’s.
"I won’t erase your memory. I won’t do anything that will make you feel better or even make you think this was some hallucination. This is something you must remember, the next time you align yourself to a war that doesn’t suit you.
"Kings are born and kings die. Royal families are roasted and power is without a doubt transient. Think about that the next time you lead your warriors to a war that is early unwinnable.
"A battle that will leave your homes half empty," Rania said softly, her tone going from the cold and cruel one, to one that told the leaders that they needed to be careful with the battles they joined.
There were just some people that they would never be able to fight against and win. It was nothing personal and the sooner they faced that reality, the sooner they would be able to lead their lives in the right way.
Otherwise, they would always be the leaders who sent their people to their deaths, and that wasn’t exactly a good legacy for anyone, in any universe or realm. It was too insane and couldn’t be bargained with.
"Go, and don’t look back, because I might be tempted to think you are daring me. Also, this is a reminder to stay the fuck away from Incayon, unless you want an alliance.
"And as of now, without asking and with the King’s seal gone, I don’t want to see anyone on this side of the realm until we are finished sorting shit out.
"You can always send a raven, but do not be tempted to try magic against Incayon, because I will hunt you myself and I will make sure that not even your ashes will be found in the air once I am done with you," Rania said with a sad smile as she ushered Kaia to create a portal.
Everything seemed so lonely as dawn came, the cold nights not being cold anymore thanks to the burning bodies. It was like Incayon was an inferno that was fighting against everything they believed in.
But then what else was there for a pack that had been betrayed more than once, a pack that had been to one too many battles?
They just had to find common ground and make sure that the world was easily as pretty as they came because, at the end of the day, life would probably be worth living, right?
"Thank you, Alpha Rania. We hope to have better interactions in the future, when borne will be peaceful again," one of the older alphas said as he looked at the King who was still unconscious, with Chang Wook’s blade in his chest.
He looked so lost and pale, but then what could they do for the mighty King who had been reduced to nothing but a common prisoner of the psychotic Incayon alpha anyway? It wasn’t like the world would shine brighter after this.
"Love and light on your way to our homes and be good to your people. All the best with the explanations," Rania said sincerely as the alphas went through them one by one.
Bai Ting also didn’t waste time going through, because he knew he didn’t have a reason to stay here anymore. He was too heartbroken to even look at his brother’s face. Perhaps there would be some other choices.
However, as Brent dared to go through, the portal closed, shocking everyone there.
