Chapter 343: The Unwarranted Genesis

[RANIA]

"Why can’t I go through?" Brent asked when he saw that the portal had really closed behind Bai Ting.

He had been hoping to go back home.

He had been hoping to sleep this over and never think of Incayon again, but as it was, his trip home was not going to be an easy one, if ever he was allowed to leave the place. He was in deep shit and he knew that too.

However, he wasn’t quite sure what the hell had happened and why he wasn’t the one being let go. Surely there had to be something else at play, right?

"Because you were the genesis of all this," Alpha Kim suddenly said, making everyone look up again.

The alpha, the same man who had slotted his wife in the hands of his daughter, the man who everyone had expected to have gone feral from losing his mate in the hands of his mate, was standing there, with a different kind of determination on his face.

"What is happening, Kai?" Rani asked as she looked at her mate, who seemed a little too calm for someone who had threatened the alpha.

Rania knew there had to be an expansion for this, and she sure hoped it was a good one or she and her very dear mate would have to deal with the first problem in their endless relationship cycle.

"Trust me, baby," Kaia said and Rania just nodded, even though she had no idea what she was getting into. She was starting to see her father standing there and sharing the same space as her.

She had known the man to be very indifferent to her and yet here he was, saying shit that Rania herself couldn’t even understand.

Granted, she was sure there was an explanation, but damn, she wished they would skip to the expansion bit because this was easily the most absurd of things that she had ever witnessed.

Maybe her father was having a rebirth or something, because what the hell was he doing here?

"You can’t be serious Byungho," Brent said and alpha Kim just let out a laugh like this was the thing he had expected when this time came.

"Why? Is it because you thought you could evade the consequences of what you did to everyone here? Do you want to say you had no hand in how the fates were so twisted and how everything is so cruel to these kids here?

"Look at them all, broken and bruised because you couldn’t handle losing that one bet. You cucked with their fates and managed to get back into their lives. How smooth, right?" Alpha Kim said and the prisoners just groaned.

This seemed like a more personal vendetta for him, but the fact that Kaisei wasn’t easy to sign anything about, had to mean that there was more at play.

None of them we relooking for happily ever after, but if they were to go down, then everyone involved clearly had to take their mantle and act like it, right? Besides, there was always a price for everything that happened.

Nothing was free and that in itself was a truth that this bung of broken people had all learned the hard way.

One way or the other they had all gone through the worry of phases in their lives only to find they were more linked to each other than the universe could admit.

And while others were dying on their nooses, the perpetrator was already making his way out of the mess he had engineered. Oh, to be wonderful and proud yet pathetic at the same time, right?

"I don’t know what you mean. Your daughter made us all suffer for coming to war against her and some of us are still paying the price for it.

"But hey, just take the freedom of the one man who is ready to repent it all and ruin his chances at redemption, yeah?" Brent said, sounding more like the victim than whatever alpha Kim was intending.

However, that in itself didn’t seem surprising for the alpha who was staring at him with a bored face, the same face he always had when Rania was busy throwing her tantrums. That was also something that got Rania interested in this.

She had never seen her father that calm with anyone. She had never seen her father lie like this and it was raising questions, a lot of them.

Perhaps she would eventually get her answers, right?

Perhaps when the morning came, they would be able to say that they did their best in fixing whatever was left of the shambles they had to deal with, right?

"She’s crazy, right?" Alpha Kim asked and Yanna snorted like it wasn’t obvious.

Everyone here already knew just how wild his daughter was, so a reminder wouldn’t expect to cut it for them, unless the alpha had something new, he could present to them apart from his daughter’s craziness.

Hell, they were trapped here because his daughter was loving the misery she was causing them and the mental torture she was inflicting on them.

"Don’t worry, I know she is crazy, because she is mine and Hyerim’s daughter. Y’know, the moon goddess’s sister, my Hyejin. But then you clearly didn’t know that, and I’m not in the mood for a history lesson. So, I’ll just get to the point.

"Will you tell them, or should I?’’ Alpha Kim asked as he looked at Brent who was still bothered by the fact that he had missed his window of leaving the damned packs. He knew he wouldn’t ever be able to survive Incayon if he was left here.

Incayon was run by the most ruthless of all the ruthless creatures across the universe. It was the one place that no sane person would try to cross over into and yet he was trapped here.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about. Whatever it is, get on with it, before your psycho daughter changes her mind about letting me leave–" Brent began before he let out a blood-curdling scream that worked up even Daehyun who was giving into the darkness.

Even the King who had been unconscious woke up, with the sword in his chest making him feel the pain of a thousand stabs. It was cruel, but not as cruel as what was going on right now.

"What the fuck just happened, and why is he screaming like a girl?" Jungwoo asked as he looked around only to see that they were the only ones there with the addition of alpha Kim.

However, even then, that wasn’t enough an explanation for the gut sentencing scream that Brent was releasing. It was so loud he could have easily passed for a banshee if he wasn’t a warlock from the valley of the Whites anyway.

"Respect my mate, or you won’t have a vocal cord to use when asked questions and that won’t really sit well with my little wolf, because once she knows the truth, she will ruin you in the worst of ways possible–

"–And I will be cheering her on," Kaia said as he pulled back his bow, bringing attention to what he had done.

He had shot Brent in the right kidney with an arrow, a poisoned arrow.

"The same goes for everyone here. I can hear your thoughts; I can tell what you feel and definitely hear you. So, if you so much as try and talk shit about my mate, then you won’t have to worry about her ripping your hearts into shreds. I will fuck you up myself."
