Chapter 357: Hello From The Other Side

[RANIA]

As the wolves danced around Dalrae felt a surge of energy in her, that came with her sisterly bond. It was so sudden that for a moment she lost her sight.

The darkness she faced wasn’t the usual kind that came with fear, and instead of being worried she felt relaxed. Making her realize that her sister was finally awake after ten long days.

However, she couldn’t leave fast enough from the little party they were having, because she knew it would raise suspicions and she wasn’t in the mood to start explaining herself.

Especially when she didn’t know if this was her sister’s goodbye in the pretense of happiness. She needed to be sure and the only way she could do that was to go check on her sister on her own.

Looking around Dalrae tried to find Kaia, and confirm for herself if this was true because if her sister was awake the first person who would know was the psychotic Seto brother.

"Shit, he’s not here. Which means he must have responded to her call," the Incayon beta said to herself as she kept looking around in the hope that Kaia was around.

She knew the man was down so bad for her sister that he would do anything she wanted. That unfortunately included getting her away from Obren. With that in mind, the youngest Kim sister rushed to the pack house to find Rania.

Expectedly, she found her in her bedroom and not in the guest room that she had been laying in for a week. And with her was her barbarian of a mate who was looking at her with soft eyes like she was his world.

It was then that Dalrae knew she had to act fast.

"If you leave, I leave with you. You already know that," Dalrae’s disappointed voice came through the door making Rania instantly turn. She hadn’t expected her sister to be here, which explained the shock on her face when Dalrae spoke.

"Lim Lim, I—" Rania began, ignoring the mate that was in the room with them.

She knew it was probably cruel of her, but then she didn’t exactly have that many options waiting for her. Her mate could understand her and still love her for the wild decisions she made.

But her sister would drag her to hell if she so much as thought that Rania was trying to do shit on her own again.

Oh, but Lim Dalrae was a scary woman.

She was hell on earth, but she was the kind of hell that worried for and cared for Rania. Perhaps that was how they easily bonded, because there wasn’t a bond as theirs anyway.

"You what?"

"I can explain," Rania tried, but her sister was not having it.

"Either go back to bed, or shut up about leaving. You can only have one and in both I’ll make sure to be there beside you," Dalrae said.

This time, Kaia snorted, making the sisters look at him like he was out of his mind; that could probably be a side effect of hanging out with the Incayon misfits for a long time.

He knew he could fight any battle and win, but Dalrae was the one person he couldn’t fight, especially for the woman he loved.

So, he raised his hands in surrender and stepped back to let the sisters finish their chat. Though he was aware that Dalrae would win this time. It was a given, considering Rania was always the one in trouble.

At least he was sure his mate was okay and the sisters would be fine together.

"I guess I’ll see you later, krushka," Kaia said as he rushed towards his mate, kissing her hair before he disappeared leaving Rania with Dalrae alone.

"Girl you better start explaining before I tell Paloma you drank her whiskey last time."

"You wouldn’t."

"Wanna bet?"

"Fine, I won’t leave. Besides, I wasn’t talking about leaving Incayon. I just wanted to check on my war prisoners in Cezaevi... I will wait for the festival to be over so that we can do this together," Rania explained, though her sister didn’t believe her.

Dalrae knew her sister couldn’t be trusted when it came to pulling a disappearing act. She had to be careful with her and ensure that she didn’t run.

For a moment she contemplated staying there beside her as the evening faded away that would raise suspicions about her whereabouts.

"You know you should just leave before the warriors start asking questions," Rania teased knowingly. This wasn’t up for debate because they both were aware of their people’s desire to see their general.

However, even then Lim Dalrae didn’t mind staying a little longer.

Everyone else could wait.

After all, there wasn’t a soul in the realm that didn’t know of the greatest sibling bond that the sisters had. Worlds apart or worlds united, Rani and Lim Lim would remain the sisters of a lifetime bonded by a bond stronger than love.

Their sisterhood was everyone’s envy.

"I—"

"I’m not leaving, I just don’t feel ready to step out today. I already cast the night spell and I’ll definitely join you in a few hours," Rania explained, and Dalrae knew there wasn’t much she could do, other than hope that her sister would be fine. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

It was everyone’s prayer at that moment. Defeatedly Dalrae walked out but not before reminding her sister that she wasn’t alone.

"If you need me—"

"I know, Lim Lim, I know."

Watching her sister walk away Rania hoped that the coming days would be kinder to them.

They had all worked so hard to get to this point.

While a part of them would forever be broken from the insurmountable bodies they had fallen and the blood they had shed, not to mention the bonds they had broken when they brought down monarchy, she knew she wouldn’t have done it any other way.

The royals needed to be stopped and the revolutionaries needed to remember that the Obren Kingdom was bigger than any king or any war general and even Alpha.

Power was transient and that was a lesson that the werewolf king Seojoon had to learn the hard way, even if it meant that the girl they had broken, was the one that led the usurping.

’Would it have come to this point, if the people who broke me first were not family? Would I have been a different person if my loved ones hadn’t betrayed me and if they hadn’t made me into the monster I am today?’ Rania thought to herself as she made her way back to the balcony to watch her people have fun.

Perhaps there would come a day when she wouldn’t be the vengeful woman that everyone was scared of, and when they would see her for who she truly was; their beacon of hope.

"You fault yourself for too much, let yourself breathe and live a little," Oshita’s voice spoke and Rania squeaked from the shock of seeing her very dead best friend come to life again.

It was easily the most unexpected of things and the general instantly took a step back.

"What the hell are you doing here alive? I sealed the crypt myself. I saw your body. I saw you burn, I have the damn fucking ashes to prove it," a scared Rania said, before Oshita realized that she was going into shock and that he had triggered her panic attacks.
