Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 360: And It’s All In The Name Of Love
[RANIA]
In silence, the two best friends watched as their fellows danced the night away. They drew theta. There was no turning back from what had happened and they were slowly making their peace with it.
Oshita knew that Kim Rania needed a distraction and right now, there was only one possible distraction that would be appropriate for her, one that didn’t consist of her leaving the pack house or even leaving the compound.
"Rani, I heard you have Daehyun in the dungeons while you sent the others to Cezaevi. Why?" Oshita asked as they stood there.
He was aware that it was a sensitive topic for them and that nothing would ever make sense to them for quite some time, but it was something that they would try and deal with together. After all, weren’t they always a team?
"He looks better in the dungeons," Rania said dismissively and Oshita just sighed. Of course, it wasn’t going to be easy but he more than anyone knew that his friend never made decisions just like that.
The misfits had created the Cezaevi and sent the prisoners there; they had tried to take Daehyun with them but Rania had refused. She had made it clear that Lee Daehyun was never to be taken out of the dungeons.
It was most likely that Rania still had some use of the man even after everything. It wasn’t exactly what they had planned for but then life wasn’t all rosy and shit. They had to be ready to come up with a better plan.
They had been thinking of the possibilities as to why Rania had left Daehyun and honestly, they had come up empty. None of them understood what the fuck was going on with Rania or even her decision to keep the man there.
"Really, Rani? Looks better in the dungeons? Is that the only excuse?" Oshita said and Rania dared to glare at him, but then Oshita was never going to be intimidated by Rania. That was what made their friendship so special.
They had crossed more than they could ever be able to admit out loud and at that moment, as they tried to phase in and reel themselves in their new reality, the both of them down there was more than just excuses to what Rania had done.
"What can I say?" Rania asked and to that, Oshita let out a light laugh. It was hilarious to some extent because they had been trying to understand each other but then they were both running in circles, thanks to Rani.
But then Oshita wasn’t the kind to give up.
He would keep prodding because only he was about to go that far with Rani without her wanting to snap at him. And even if she did, she had learned that Oshita would always stare at her and wait for answers.
"The truth, maybe?" Oshita said and Rania sighed. She had known that this wouldn’t be easy. She was prepared for the worst and frankly, it wouldn’t be surprising for her whatever was coming in her direction.
"Oshita," Rania said as she looked at the man before her.
"Come on Rani. Besides, it’s not like I want to break him out. We both know you always have a reason for everything you do. Just let me know what it is this time. We are trying to be better, right? 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Our home is better because you were brave enough to rid them of the chaos masters. Besides, you just said I wouldn’t talk about the other one. Tell me about this one then," Oshita said to Rania and she looked at him knowingly.
He wouldn’t give up on his quest soon enough. He would try to keep prodding. However, Rani wasn’t ready to divulge that to him. They may have trusted each other and had been holding on to their relatives, but there was only so much that they would stall.
"Tomorrow. I’ll tell you when the sun rises again. Until then, let’s watch out -people be happy. Perhaps I may ever have the strength to go on there and see them. I know they are waiting but I’m still scared of what my power could be.
"I don’t need to be the reason they are sad. I can’t be that to them. Not after all we have been thorough, not this time and definitely not like this. We have fought so hard," Rania said and Oshita just shook his head disappointedly.
A part of him had expected this but he couldn’t let her stay in this state again. He couldn’t just let her, because she had done so much for their happiness.
"My sweet little sister. How is it that you always manage to put your happiness at the bottom of the list? Y’know I was always hoping that having a mate would change that, but Kaisei Seto has been sleeping on the job.
"I should strangle that Seto idiot. Maybe that would be enough to remind the both of you of the importance of the mate bond. How the fuck did the moon goddess pair hopeless people like the both of you?
"Have you even kissed? Consummated the bond? Slept in one bed? Stayed beside each other for a whole week without anyone interrupting? Have you ever spent a whole day inside the house at the same time with Kaia?
"Oh wait, I’ll try to make it simpler. Have you ever gone hunting with that barbarian? Huh? Or have you both been playing and fasting for the win that you knew you had from the onset?
"What the fuck am I going to do with the both of you?" Oshita asked as he looked at Rania and then outside to where Kaia was standing.
He was staring at the window where Rania was and there was a chance that he knew what was going on here and yet even then they both trusted each other so much it was sickening.
Where was the protective nature of jealousy?
The little annoying things that came with being in a relationship? Perhaps Oshita was right. He was dealing with monks instead of mates and that was disturbing to so many hornets. Perhaps he could fix them up himself, right?
"We were preparing for war, Oshita. Besides, that can wait," Rania sided and Oshita let out a dramatic gasp like he couldn’t truly believe what was going on here.
He had been away for just four months and he had returned to a shell of what they were supposed to be. Nothing had changed with Rania because she was still putting everyone first except for herself and that was something that Oshita didn’t like.
Maybe that was also why he made the decision he had just made.
Maybe he was crazy, but was he, for wanting to see his best friend happy?
"Come with me, we’re going to Daehyun then," Oshita said and Rania glared at him.
"You really want to do that?" Oshita asked and Rania returned a pout, to which Oshita considered a defiance of sorts.
"Kaisei Chihiro Seto!!!! What the fuck have you been doing with my sister? Are you people saints or something?
"Why the fuck wasn’t I invited to your sainthood then, huh?" Oshita shouted angrily as he grabbed Rania’s arm and together they jumped out of her balcony, landing right in the middle of the celebration.
This was going to be interesting.
