Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 450: A Confession In My Dreams
(Myra’s POV)
"Whe~re am I? What is this~ .... what is this place?" I looked around the fairly new place, surrounded by a scenic view. The glorious, tranquil spectacle of the descending sun right in front of my eyes. The golden and fiery crimson mixed with hues of orange and pink, soothed my jittery nerves.
I was lost in the lustre of the glowing ball when my gaze zeroed in on a couple. They were a few meters away from me, sitting on the grass, looking at the beautiful landscape. The girl’s head was resting on the guy’s shoulder, their hands interlaced.
"Ummm~ .... excuse me~ ...." I called for them, but no response. ’Maybe they didn’t hear me,’ I took a few steps towards them and called again, "Hello~ ... sorry to disturb you two but~ ...."
Still, no reply came, not even a reaction. It was as if they couldn’t hear me at all. I tried to reach out to them and extended my hand, but what I touched was just empty space, air. I looked at my hands, then at the two and realised this must be another one of my dreams.
I couldn’t see their faces as their backs were turned towards me, but I could hear them, crystal clear. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
The girl, her voice as melodious as a sweet candy, reached my ears as she spoke, "Denny~ ...."
"Ummhmm~ ...." the guy hummed, "Yes, Lia~ .... What is it?" His voice was buttery, raspy as the girl’s name rolled out of his mouth.
"I~ .... I want to~ ... I want to tell you something~ .... ummm~ ..." the girl, named Lia, she was hesitating,
The guy~ .... I guess she called him, Denny~ ... chuckled at her fumbling, "Haha~ ...."
"Why are you laughing, huhh?" Lia asked.
"Just because. You look so adorable right now that I want to eat you up," Denny said, still chuckling. "Tell me~ ... what do you want to say, um?"
Lia didn’t utter a single word for a brief moment. She seemed to be struggling with something. Then all of a sudden, I heard her heavy sigh as she started, "Denver Brooks, do you know I didn’t want to be in a relationship?"
’Okay~ .... So, his name is Denver~ ... but seriously, who are these people? And why am I seeing them in my dreams now? What has happened? Is it not a dream? Am I dead? Have I become a ghost or something? Am I in some alternative world?’ I was literally freaking out at the thought.
Meanwhile, the girl, Lia, continued, "I~ .... in fact, I had turned down all the guys that tried to approach me as I didn’t want to get committed at all. It wasn’t until~ ... until~ ... the day I met you? When I first saw you~ .... there was this fluttering feeling in my stomach, as if a thousand butterflies were dancing around. I have never felt that way towards anyone before." Do you know how important you are to me?
Denver didn’t interrupt Lia; he just kept on listening to her confession silently~ ... patiently. "Initially, I thought it was just normal curiosity because of how good looking you were or how easy going you seemed or how calmly you reacted even when things were chaotic. But slowly and steadily, the more I saw you~ .... walking in the corridor of our school aloofly, despite all the girls trailing behind you like a moth, piqued something more than simple curiosity."
’Is this a love confession? Am I even allowed to eavesdrop like this?’ I mulled over, feeling guilty. After a pause, I decided to go somewhere else and give those two some space.
Yeah~ ... I know, I know~ ... it is just a dream, but after countless experiences of having nightmares, I know if I try, I can move freely.
But this time~ ... something unusual happened. As I turned around, I felt my feet transfixed to the place. I couldn’t move an inch, nor turn around, nor do anything else. ’What is this? This has never happened before?’ I contemplated.
In the background, Lia’s voice pulled me back, "Then~ ... one day~ ... in the library~ .... Even after most of the desks were empty, you walked towards me and decided to take the seat just opposite me. You always say that how cold I was at first to you, hmm~ ... It is not that I was cold or frosty~ ... I was just~ .... nervous. Nervous as hell, so much so that I couldn’t even lift my lashes. I pretended to stay calm and composed. I pretended to be immersed in the biology book I was reading. But to be totally honest~ .... I was screaming inside. Screaming with joy."
She turned her face to the side, but because of the angle and hair, her appearance remained shrouded from my view. "Do you remember what you said to me then?"
"I do~ .... I told you, you looked charming when you were focused. Haha~ ... I even remember your reply~ .... You~ ... in a robot like tone said~ ... ’Keep quiet, this is the library.’ Hahahhaha~ .... You know how embarrassed I felt, reprimanded by the class topper," Denver said as he rubbed her head.
"It was just a weird mechanism. I babble nonsense when I am nervous," Lia uttered. "But~ ... that day~ ... that small piece of conversation, was the beginning of us. I just want to tell you that~ .... Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for making me feel such emotions that I didn’t even know I had. Thank you for making me feel alive. Thank you for making the flowers bloom in my otherwise barren and dreadful field. Thank you for everything, Denver Brooks~ .... For someone like me, love and relationships, these things were out of the question. But Denny~ ... you made me realise how wrong I was."
Denver tilted his face to the side. She didn’t give him any chance, leaned forward and planted a kiss on his lips.
My eyes instantly shut, my hands curled into tight balls on either side. I peered a glance, and what I saw caused the ground beneath me to shake. The gentle breeze blew from west to east, swaying her hair from her face.
My mouth agape when I saw that face~ .... ’How can this~ ....? What the~ ...." I didn’t know what to think; my mind went blank.
It was none other than me. That girl Lia~ .... SHE WAS ME.
