Chapter 451: She~ .... She Wasn’t Me

(Myra’s POV)

My eyes fluttered uncontrollably at what I was seeing. ’How was this possible? Why am I sitting there holding hands and kissing a random stranger? Have I truly lost my mind now? What kind of dream is it?’

Honestly, I was too flabbergasted to think clearly. I couldn’t fathom the fact that this person was me.

Meanwhile, after sharing a short yet sweet kiss, the girl pulled back, a faint blush settling on her cheek. They both stared into each other’s eyes as I gawked at the two of them like a total fool, one after another.

Lia uttered, "Denny, I~ ... I have~ ... fallen in love with you."

Denny tangled his free hand in her hair as he gave her a one in a million, radiant than the sun behind them kind of smile. He mumbled, "I feel the same way~ .... My Lia. Whenever I am with you, my heart skips a beat. You feel like home to me."

The redness on Lia’s cheek deepened after his words. She looked straight into his eyes and said without hesitation, "Denver, I think I am ready. Please, make me yours~ .... completely."

The guy was bowled over by her confession. His eyes were as big as a button. Lia tried to lean in again, but he stopped her when they were a few inches apart. "Lia, not now," he said.

Lia looked at him with an expression full of hurt. Her eyes flickered multiple times as she asked, her voice a bit hoarse now, "Why~ .... didn’t you say you feel the same way? Then why this hesitation?" She questioned.

Denver said nothing for a few seconds, then sighed and uttered, "It is because I feel the same as you that’s why we cannot~ ..."

"But why?" Lia remained adamant.

"I~ I don’t want to hurt you," he said.

"If it’s you, I won’t be hurt. I know you will be careful," Lia urged.

"Lia~ ..."

"Denny .... I want to."

In the end, Denver exhaled a breath and said, "Okay~ .... If you want, we will. But~ ... not now. Your birthday is coming soon, when you will come of age. On that day, I will~ .... I will make you mine completely. And you~ .... make me yours."

Her cheeks were puffed, but she relented. She then buried his face in his chest. As they were sharing a warm, intimate hug, I noticed something odd. The guy, with his sweet and loving expression, was replaced by a smirk. A weirdly odd one. But as I blinked, his expression changed back to normal.

’Did I see it wrongly? Why did this whole thing feel weird?’

My mind spiralled as I felt my body getting swayed~ .... A sudden episode of dizziness took over me as with a loud thud, I collapsed.

(Author’s POV)

"Arrghhhhhhh~ ......." A low growl escaped Myra’s mouth in her sleep.

William, who had been sitting by his daughter’s side, became alert. He called out, "Myra~ .... Myra~ ..."

Though Myra’s eyes were shut, she could hear William. She opened her eyes in slow motion, and the first person she saw was her dad. Standing beside him was Sandra, who said, "My baby~ ...."

Myra gave a weak yet soft smile to her mother and father. William asked, his voice gentle, "Myra, are you feeling okay?"

Myra blinked her eyes twice to answer him as relief washed over both William and Sandra. With a throaty voice, she somehow managed to utter, "Dad, I wan~t to~ si~t."

William immediately stood up and adjusted her bed as Sandra took his place. She held Myra’s hand and said, "Are you feeling any pain in your leg?" She caressed her hand soothingly.

Myra’s eyes wrinkled slightly, then she recalled what had happened before she passed out. In an attempt to try and stop Amy from falling, she had ended up stumbling out of bed and injuring herself. She faintly remembered Nora’s scream, Alaric’s panic filled face and how he reprimanded her afterwards.

Everything after that was blank as a white sheet.

Licking her lips to moisten them, Myra queried, "Mom~ .... How is Mrs. ~ ... Mrs. Garcia?"

Sandra paused her action for a second, then resumed it and said, "The doctor said it was an episode due to impending stress. She is~ .... she has woken up not too long ago and is in the room next door. Her family is with her."

"Family?" Myra repeated as her free hand tightened its grip on the duvet.

William spoke, "After you fainted, I sent everyone away. The doctor had restitched your wounds. She specifically instructed not to let you move an inch."

Myra shook herself out of the thoughts and nodded obediently. She felt parched and said, "Mom, I want some water."

Sandra looked at the empty jar sitting on the table. William said, "I will go get some." With that, he departed the scene. Myra looked around and asked, "Where is~ ... Wendy?"

"She has classes. After finishing them, Prof. Stephens will take her straight to the hospital," Sandra explained.

Myra nodded in understanding. The ringing of the phone filled the otherwise quiet room. Sandra left Myra’s side to grab William’s phone. Myra, still feeling a bit lightheaded, closed her eyes.

A vision, a familiar yet unfamiliar scene flashed across her mind. The dream she had seen as a bystander was so vivid. It felt like it wasn’t just a dream but reality.

The girl in that dream, Lia, she was the very embodiment of Myra herself. And the guy, Denver, he was someone Myra had never seen before. Never in real life nor in dreams.

After taking a few moments to settle down my frantic thoughts, she came to a sudden realization. That girl Lia, she was her, but someone who looked exactly like her. From her complexion to her eyes to the shape of her face. The similarity was eerily uncanny.

She tried to think hard as to why she even saw such a scene, but nothing came to her mind. In the end, she came to the conclusion that it must be her mind playing tricks on her.

In the past, she had seen numerous intimate dreams, but the guys opposite her were always one of the Everests brothers. This was the very first time she had seen a total stranger. That was anomalous.
