Chapter 17: Chapter 17

Aria’s POV

I knew that this wasn’t to end well, someone was surely going to get hurt and it wasn’t Jaxon. Tim was intelligent and everything else but a fighter wasn’t among those things. He couldn’t win a fight to save his life and now he was going to pick a fight with one of the bulkiest guys in school? I got anxious.

It became a scene really fast, faster than I expected. Students were trooping into the scene like moths to a flame. And one thing was for sure, they had their cameras on the whole time.

"Why would you do this? Why can’t you just live Aria alone? You’re fucking obsessed with bullying her. What is your problem man?" Tim expressed. He wasn’t a expression very person but when he did, he didn’t mince his words.

"What are you talking about? Get out of my face. Do you want your nose broken?" Jaxon asked. His signature cocky expression was present, but underneath it was anger, I knew him well enough to know that.

"Mary, we have to do something. Tim is going to get hurt badly." I was panicking already but Mary who I was complaining to was panicking just as badly as me.

"What do we do? I have no idea. You should know that it’s almost impossible to talk to Tim whenever he gets like this" Mary agonized.

"Who put this up? What is the meaning of this rubbish. Take it down" Tim insisted.

"Take what down? I’m warning you, glass boy, you better get out of my face, last warning" Jaxon said, his voice sounded more serious. The part of Jaxon that scared me.

"Tim, Tim please let it go. I’ll handle this" I tried to get through the tough crowd to him but my efforts were futile. The other kids probably saw it as the fight of the trimester. The big bulky jock vs the lanky skinny nerd who didn’t know how to throw a decent punch.

"That was the last warning" Tim aggressively pushed Jaxon’s hard chest. He couldn’t even successfully push back Jaxon with his body weight.

The crowd cheered like animals, knowing well that they were setting Tim up.

"You asked for this" Jaxon responded to Tim’s pushed with a solid punch to his mouth. The students kept yelling.

I heard the sound of Jaxon’s fist hitting Tim’s mouth from way back in the crowd. I felt like he lost a teeth or two.

"Oh my God!" Mary put her hand over her mouth, she was tearing up already. Mary was a person that didn’t take much to crack despite her tough demeanor.

"Let me through! Jaxon stop! You’re going to hurt him" I tried getting through the crowd. By the time Mary and I had successfully pushed everyone aside and gotten to the main scene, Jaxon had already mounted Tim with several punches leaving him with a bloody mouth and face.

"Jaxon, Jaxon stop it!" I pushed him aside.

"Well your stupid boyfriend started it, I’m just finishing it." He had a menacing look in his eyes.

"You’re not so tough now huh? You’re not so tough. Thought you wanted a fight. Come on, hit me!" Jaxon taunted Tim as I tried to hold him back.

Shortly, the janitors and the securities had shown up to break up the scene. Some teachers like our homeroom teacher showed up as well.

After a detailed explanation of everything, the students in charge of the forum were asked to take down the picture. On the other hand, Both Tim and Jaxon had been given detention.

Tim regretted his actions and didn’t stop complaining about it because he was a perfect student who never got detention. Jaxon on the other hand, was a regular aggressor who hardly went two weeks in a row without detention. He had even gotten some suspensions in the past.

I made sure to thank Tim, my knight in shining armor for coming to my aid. Although it wasn’t necessary for him to do that, I had to make him feel better about the detention.

*******

Things got awkward at the dining table. I didn’t know Rick much but I knew he was a quiet man, but it was different during dinner. He was a different kind of quiet. The upset type.

"It’s quite unfortunate the events that took place today, isn’t it? A clear misunderstanding" my mom said, taking a slice of the turkey into her own dish.

"a clear misunderstanding? This bully Jaxon fucked up Tim’s face and now Tim has to deal with detention" I said.

"Language, Aria. You must not cuss, even if you are, it certainly shouldn’t be at the dinning table. That’s not very lady like" my mom reprimanded.

"Really? That’s what’s important right now?" I asked.

This was the right time for Jaxon to throw in a stupid quip or say something in his defense but he wasn’t saying anything. He looked very tense for some reason.

"Jaxon. You got detention again?" Rick asked.

"I’m sorry sir, it was the other kid’s fault" Jaxon said in a soft voice, his face fixated on his plate.

"That isn’t what I asked you. Did you get another detention?" Rick asked again. He gulped down a glass of orange juice, the room was so quiet that you could hear his swallowing. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"Ye— yes sir" Jaxon responded with a stutter.

Immediately Rick banged both his hands on the table. What was with this family and temper tantrums?

"What is wrong with you? You might as well get expelled again or build up a criminal record. Are you trying to throw your future away? Maybe you don’t want to play for a major league in college?" Rick asked right before walking away, not waiting for a reply from Jaxon. My mom followed behind him, trying to calm him down

For the first time,I had seen Jaxon lacks energy to give a reply. He looked so down.

"This is your fault, Aria. It’s your fault and the fault of that stupid nerd of yours. Best believe I’ll get you back for it" Jaxon said.

A chill was sent down my spine, I was the only person left in the dinning.
